huge weight gain after 2 day break from diet

i try to exercise 5 times a week, and take two rest days that are split up. I work out 30 minutes on the days i have to work which is usually 4, and 1 hour the days i don't work which is usually two. I just wondered if anybody else felt that the first exercise after your rest day totally sucks, it feels like i am starting all over again. By the second workout i feel great and energized and it takes me through the rest of the week, but the first day always is terrible feeling!
