Adjust heart rate monitor calories for gender
I have a heart rate monitor that calculates calories, but it only asks for weight and not gender. Since I am female, I assume the calories it estimates are probably not accurate. Is there an adjustment factor I can apply to the calories burned estimate to get a number more appropriate for a female?

Do HRM/MFP calories include BMR?
Does the calories from my HRM include my BMR for that period of time? So lets say it says 150 calories, and my BMR for that period would have been 50. Should I log 100 calories? What about when I add in exercise from MFP? If I type in a 30 min walk on MFP, it says 100 - is that net of my BMR? I have a feeling this may be…

Anyone use a pedometer to monitor everyday activity calories
Does anyone use a pedometer to get a better sense of their everyday (non-exercise) calories? I know there's the fitbit, but it's a little pricey. I saw the Sportline Any Wear at Winners for $17...says it is an acelerometer and it tracks calories, which sounds a lot like the fitibit. Has anyone tried this? Do these…
