Stupid Reason for a goal weight but I did it
Copied from my facebook: So I set a weird goal a while back - to hit 150 lbs before I turned 36. Why is this weird? Because of the motivation for it. I already had a regular goal of 160lbs just to be healthy and look good. But the thing is, I go to a gym. And at that gym are the elliptical machines. And on those machines…

NSV, Compliments of the wife
So this morning I felt like bragging a bit since I'm only a few pounds away from my ultimate goal so I pulled up my tshirt to show my wife the beginnings of my abs showing. She told me I looked good but then asked me to show her what it looked like when I wasn't sucking it in - but I already wasn't. :)

A year later, down 40+lbs w/pics
My original story from December of last year is here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/425807-gaining-momentum I did end up joining the Koko Fit Club gym in January and according to their online tracker I have lifted 2,124,241 lbs and used the treadmill or elliptical for 10,666 miles. I feel, and am, so much…

FT4 HRM Giving Wacky Numbers
So I got my Polar FT4 heart rate monitor back in mid-March and loved it. It would link up automatically with the Precor machines at my gym so I could always see my heart rate without having to grab the sensors (though I used the calorie burn calculations from the watch). As a tech geek I also simply loved that extra data I…

A Week of NSV's
I just got back from a week's vacation visiting my dad in upstate Utah. *Beautiful* mountains. I hit my original goal weight a few weeks ago and have a new very soft target of losing another 10 lbs but mostly I want to maintain and tone/build muscle. I didn't weigh myself all week. What I did do though was run with my…

Almost there
I started using MFP in earnest in mid-December 2011 and joined the gym on January 11th, 2012. I've had numerous goals but the weight one is within reach now. I started around 205 in December and today hi 170. My goal is 160 and it's so close I can taste it (and then log it...). Also, for an NSV, I pulled out a pair of 32"…

Some NSV's
1. Realizing last week I'd been to the gym every single day for over 2 months. And looking forward to keeping that streak going. 2. Asking to borrow a leather punch to make new holes in my belt. 3. Being asked for weight loss/fitness advice from friends and coworkers. 4. Getting the "wow, how much weight have you lost?"…

Gaining momentum
So a few years my doctor told me I had to go on cholesterol and blood pressure pills. I asked her for how long and she said "the rest of your life unless you make some changes". Well, I didn't want to be on pills forever so I asked for her help. Turns out she was partnered with a nutritionist and they run a weight loss…
