The good thing is that you don't need energy to eat fewer calories. Worry about energy to exercise later, focus on diet now. Have you gotten a food scale and worked out your TDEE?5 -

Get a food scale. Use grams more often than not. Using Google to find the USDA nutritional info is helpful, too (since mfp database entries are often wrong).1 -

I only use the package to figure out the calories per gram math. I had one stall that really sealed the deal for weighing packaged foods. I was eating these protein bars my husband bought. 290 cal/30…6
