    Welcome soapyskin!!! Welcome to the Monthly Challenge!!! Ann gave you some great suggestions so those will help a lot. i can only add to listen carefully to your body and to what your doctor advises. Modify anything in any walk that might seem more difficult at the time. I do that all the time when necessary, especially when any move is too bouncy for me. just keep moving, as Leslie says, because it is not the moves but the walking that does it. Slow down if needed, you never have to keep up with the speed. Do take care and I'm happy that you are joining in.

I am so very proud of you Pinky for quitting smoking!! More than I can say. My DH smokes and has tried numerous times to quit so I know how determined you were to actually do it.

    Welcome to the group and November's walk challenge, Poofersgrl! Never say "only" to how many miles you walked. EVERY mile is important and awesome!! You go girl, and continue on mile by mile, minute by minute and you will reach your goals!

    Check out your public library to see if they carry Leslie's DVDs. I have used them from my library to not only use, but to see which ones I like before purchasing. Also collagevideo dot com has video clips on their website and reviews. also amazon, or websites for stores have reviews that might help in determining which you might like or not.

    hi all, my computer died, so until I have another one up and running I am using the one at our library for everything, so i won't be here as often. I started December's challenge just in case things take longer than expected with Thanksgiving and all. My time is up so i'll see you all next time :)

    PinkyPan-Oh my gosh congratulations to you and Happy Birthday!!! I smoked for 20 years before quitting and I KNOW how hard it is. The good news is that your body begins to heal itself right way once you quit and the walking will simply speed that process along. You have really taken responsibility for your own health in a big way and I commend you!!! :+1:

    thanks ladies! I was worried about not making my goal with the new job. I can't get in nearly as much walking as I did before but still trying to make a decent goal. Everyone is doing so well! Congrats all!

    Good morning Walkers. I woke up and it was 60 degrees outside. I laced up and headed out the door. The temperature is to drop 20 degrees by noon. I walked in 20 mile an hour winds and completed 6 miles. It was exhilarating but my legs are sore.

    I am back off holiday so I am bringing this up to date.

    I walked 78.95 miles whilst away and as my target was only 80 miles because I didn't know how many miles I would walk on a ship lol. In total this month I have walked 115.48 miles mostly outside.
