Ha, I just saw "Premium" in my tabs to choose from, when I'm on my Home Page, but it does not appear up in the tabs when I'm on this page. Has this been here the whole time and I'm just now noticing?

OK, I just clicked on it and see there is a charge. $9.99/mo or $49.99/yr. I'll bet it's been here the whole time and I'm just waking up!

Yes, there's a charge. I haven't checked it out but heard about it on some thread.

I just "logged" in to the site (usually when I turn on the computer, I'm already logged in and on the Community page) and I received a notice that there's an Upgrade to Premium here. No ads and you can manage more of the macronutrients and food analysis and several other pluses. Anyone else check this out? Is there a charge? I'm a little scared to click further.

I think Premium is $40 a year. Im passing on it for now.

Ouch - for NM yes, for here - no, since there's a choice.

I wouldn't have paid for NM either. Not that they weren't great, but I'm not paying for any weight management tools anymore. Way too much money spent in the past, and now I subbornly refuse to pay anything. My Dad tried to get me to go over to MyNetDiary with him (they have a sub-par free site and an amazing $60 per year site that he uses), but I'm not interested. One thing I am concerned with here on MFP is if they get enough people to pay for membership, the free site over time will suffer as they won't be as inclined to keep it updated. We'll see though.

I chose NM cause it was free but if it would have kept it going, I might have. I am pretty cheap. NM was my first anything. Hopefully, MFP won't suffer.

I initially would never pay either, however, like Debora, if paying would have kept NM going, I believe I would have. Not for the logging necessarily, but for the friendships.

I just couldn't see how even with a premium service offered, NM would be able to keep going, because, as Jim had sad in his closing statements, they were depending on word of mouth, and that wasn't working with the free site. Personally, I wished they had sold space on their site for ads. I know that Pam was opposed to that, but if it meant they could have stayed around longer, we could have lived with it (we live with it now on MFP). But, I have feeling that Jim just wanted to get on with his life, which I don't blame him (you don't see him much on the NM Facebook page). He and his family touched a lot of lives in such a positive, life affirming way. I'm just glad there are other ways we can all stay in touch (Facebook, MFP, OKP, etc.)

Very well said, Marcie. I totally agree.

No, I dont think its been here the whole time. They' been talking about it over in the Forum. Not sure when it rolled out, but it was recently.

I didn't check into it Sheryl, I just assumed there was a monthly fee. I bet Marcie knows!
