Where can I go to read the basics? I saw the one site linked in the group intro, but that just lists the types of foods to eat. No mention of macros, # of carbs daily, calories, etc...

Thanks!

If you go over to the Low Carber Daily Forum (search groups) you'll find something called the Launch Pad at the top of the page, which has some excellent links. There is plenty there to read. I started keto about 2.5 weeks ago and have learned a lot through reading that board =)

If you need macro help go to the keto calculator: http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/

    Its at http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

There is a lot of cross info between the keto/LCD groups. There is also a primal/paleo board and there are a whole lot of PCOS women here too.

But try the dashboard in the Low carb daily forum. Good info there too.

read The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living by Phinney and Volek. You library probably has it if you don't want to buy it. Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore is a pretty good read too. I'm a geek, so I like the sciencey stuff in phinney and voleks book. Gary Taubes books are good also..."why we get fat and what to do about it". good read.
