All the March days are like that in Colorado.

The sun was out a few mins. ago, now the clouds have taken over and it is spitting snowflakes, but it will get up to the low 20's F. and that will be most welcome.

I just updated my profile picture the dates start at 3/2/14 and end at 3/1/15. It shows what a wasted year looks like. I stopped doing what it took to reach my goals, I had "life issues that just got in my way." Sound familiar?

Let's all make a pledge to ourselves to not let another year go by without reaching our goals, whatever they are. We are all over 60 here, we have a limited number of days left in our lives. We deserve to be the best we can be, let's all get serious about our goals.

A good graphic representation of how we need to focus on what is important to us.......

Love the Dickens quote, Wooken3 ... Happy March everyone. We are getting a fresh coating of snow tonight here in Massachusetts - and I hope the plows don't come by until the wee hours, so I can get in a little skiing in the streets again! All too soon we will have to drive to Vermont to get in the last of the spring skiing. ~ Kathy

62 and beginning less than 900calories per day. Doctors orders. I have a very sedimentary job.

hi jkj! I'm 62 and trying to manage 1000 calories less than what i burn per day, which leaves me at about 1000 calories for food. it's tough, girl... and you may not be able to manage it 100% of the time, but we're here to help!

May I suggest you invest in a Fitbit? You may be surprised at how motivating that little device can be (confirmed by a large number of us in the group), AND you'll 'earn' more calories if you just walk a bit more.

Wanted to say 'Happy March' to the group! I'm so excited - I guess I'm a slow learner, but have just discovered the magic of hot fruit tea to fill me up, satisfy my sweet tooth and keep me from grazing in the pantry. Helping a lot to fight the winter blues.... and I have fallen in love with some chocolate mint tea that I use as my evening treat. All sweetened with fake sugar so netting 0 calories. HoHoHo... here comes SPRING (I hope)

good morning all - March came in wet, miserable and dreary, hopefully it will lead to a great spring. Wow - JKJ - 900 calories is tough, byt like marilyn says it is doable, just maybe not 100%. I try to keep mine at 1200, I have a sedimentary job also. Although only 120 days to retirement and hope to be a lot more active. I use a smart phone program called pacer, which will link with MFP, and calculates your steps and calories burned. fortunately where I work really promotes fitness and we are allowed two 20 minute breaks a day to go for walks or whatever. I love it. I don't always do it, but I can if I want to, which is a nice feeling.

Here's to a fit and fabulous month!

Man, it's admirable to be able to follow your doctors' orders, ladies. I'm hard pressed to keep nutrition micro nutrients up to a healthy level on 1200. Will be rooting for your success.

I had a bit of a binge last night. Nothing like it would have been in the past, but I had to amend my diary after having submitted it after dinner. I have logged it today. I was getting down about it, but logging it seemed to make it better. I can look back on it and know that I did myself no favor last night. I am heading out shortly for a SS classic class, so I can just get on with my life as it should be.

Eat, log, move, and repeat is my new motto.

March boy where has the FEB gone . It's gone really fast. I did not meet Feb goul 1 lb short. I don't move much because of my knee. If hard for me to stay on a 1300 cal .a day. I do need to lose a lot. Just hate that I can't do what I use to do. I made small gouls this year and that has help me. Pound a week.so I can start enjoying thing again. linda

Good Morning - Day to each of you!!

    Happy March B)
Our March came in like a lion but hopefully we will have sunny spring days soon. I am ready to unpack my spring clothes and put winter away.

We had a very quiet week-end.
Today I will be picking up 2 of our Grands to spend the night. They have not gotten to do that for a while so I am excited to have them. I must put on my "kids to school hat" as they will need breakfast and then taken to school. We haven't had that routine for a very L O N G time!!

Thanks for the graph and the reminder about wasting time. I sat here and figured if I lost 1.5 # / week I would meet my goal in one year. Think I can do it?? I am going to try! B)

I wish each of you a very happy Monday

Yesterday and today were beautiful here, but a storm is coming in tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully, Spring will come soon.

We were on a road trip all of February and great weather was everywhere we were; it was amazing. Denver had beautiful weather and we went for several walks. There was snow in the Rockies, but not too bad. Vancouver, WA had sunshine and nice temps for our visit with the grandkids and we had a couple of great hikes--up and down elevations. The Oregon coast was awesome and San Francisco, of couse, was wonderful with more hikes on the bluffs along the ocean. I got to meet Californiagirl face-to-face and it was a great experience. We also visited Zion and Bryce National Parks. It was a vacation to remember.

I did gain 2.5 lbs., and if tonight is any indication, I'm going to have to really discipline myself to get back to my maintenance weight. That's why I'm here, right. It's good to be back everyone.

Good Morning Everyone!! I give you credit for those folks that are following a strict low cal diet, I was taken aback when I started this 21 day challenge with the caloric amount that was figured out for me :o I do not think I can eat as much as it states. I'm just going to keep eating healthy and keep tracking!! Hope you all have a great day!!!

Sounds like great trip. Next time you are in Denver area, let me know please :). I love living out West most days, but there is still about a foot of snow on the ground now with a big front moving in, the flakes are flying as I type. But end of week it should hit 50s again. Gotta love Springtime in the Rockies.

That is not a bad gain for a road trip, you'll lose that in no time. I had a slight bump up after a 10 day trip to Fl. in Feb. All gone already and I went down even more, it was eating out that caused the bump plus the air travel effect on my body, it always happens.

Glad you checked in, I was about ready to PM you and ask where you were.

I won't be checking in for a week - heading out to Vegas for the nascar race and other fun things. for this week I have lost a lb, but I dont' know if it will stay off. We usually do ALOT of walking when we are out there, not unusual to get 14 - 15,000 steps. I just have to be careful not to eat my way through Vegas. Ya'll have a good week!

Retirehappy--Forgot that you were in the Denver area or I would have let you know. It's nice to know that I was missed, too. Hope you had a wonderful time in FL; I love it there in the winter, too, but when kids move, you just have to go where there are, right? Oh yeah, and make a big, wonderful road trip out of it. :)

What was even more thoughtful was that she called a few weeks ago and asked us both - and our son if we were ok with her choosing Heather as a name ... we were! <3

I am so moved by these posts. Jean, how nice for niece to honor your daughter. Wow 900 and 1,000 calories a day! Good luck, I have a hard time staying at 1,200. Another snow storm coming tomorrow. I've packed a bag and will be staying in a hotel tomorrow night so I can get to work on Thursday, then off Fri and Sat. Had to get my temporary handicapped parking permit renewed today for three months. I probably will not be able to post till I get back home. Everyone, keep up the great work and be careful. Joni

Sitting in the couch after dancing for 30 minutes waiting for my inhaler to kick in and thought I'd get caught up and add my own two cents. Today I started a stretching routine that I will try to do every day--it doesn't take much time or burn many calories, but hopefully, it will help with the minor aches and pains. Also, started working with my little dumb bells again to try to build some strength in my arms. Hopefully, these routines added to my regular treadmill or hula hoop will get my body in shape and burn calories. I didn't eat too badly while I was gone, and we walked/hiked in hilly/steep areas a couple of times a week, but my body still got flabby and feels unused.
