We didn't notice any issues with the drainage while getting out in the downpour the other night, or on getting home. There is some water that flows along the sidewalk at our driveway and then into the road, but it channels along the curb to a drain vent.

But to be honest, I am not sure if we could have seen how the drainage really looked through that driving rain!

I am sure Jack will be glad to get home. I know I was.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Getting colder again tonight. I need to take Lilo in for follow up bloodwork. Also, laundry is calling.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! A bit chilly here, with no chance of precipitation. They may call with the results of Lilo's lab work today. She is in my lap now, rubbing against my wrist and trying to interfere with my typing.

I was a bit busier than expected yesterday.

I realized I needed to pick up a prescription, and some kibble for Lilo.

So after dropping her back at home (and, of course, giving her some treats since we went to the vet) I headed out to PetSmart, where I discovered my prescription for her special food had expired. So I trudged to the back of the store, to the built in vet, where things were running a tad slow and I was standing, waiting, longer than was really comfortable. But, when I finally got to the desk, the nice young lady there quickly issued a new prescription and gave me a $15 off coupon to use on the food. I guess that made it worth the wait.

Walgreen's was the next stop, and I picked up my prescription with no wait. On the way back to the door I grabbed some frozen Mozzarella sticks for J's lunch, and a frozen pizza for dinner, bought those, came home and warmed up some beef and veggie soup for my own lunch.

By the time I got the laundry all done, folded, and put away, I was ready for a nap!

There is an Arby's very conveniently close to us. I don't eat it daily, or even often. I doubt this video will change that at all.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying (and possibly soggy) Saturday! 80% chance of precipitation in the post meridian hours but not too bad as far as temperature goes. I don't think I need to go anywhere today, though one never knows for sure.

Lilo's bloodwork looked good, according to the call from the vet. I am to keep on with the fluid treatments, of course, as that will continue for the rest of her life. She takes it pretty well, though she does get a bit grumpy. Next week I need to bring Orion back in so they can re-check his ears to see if the drops cleared up the little bit of infection in there. It wasn't much anyway, so it should be fine now.

J has been thoroughly occupied with some work project, and has been up all night in fact, still working on it. Last night I asked, "What do you want for dinner?" and got the response, "Okay."

Me, trying to figure out how to make Okay...

    gyf2ayambkup.png

I decided on a hash brown, onion, egg, and cheese concoction and apparently it was Okay. So here is what Okay looks like, if anyone needs to make it.

    Hey Ed!
I'm happy to know exactly what 'Okay' looks like when plated! LOL! It did look good. Not quite my food, but I could have most of it, and sub some of it! May make some 'okay' one day! :)
Got my chores done, except for the hard floors, and it only takes a few minutes to mop them, which I will do when I finish here. Between vacuuming all the carpets, and eating my dinner, I napped, watched a hockey game, (my St. Louis Blues lost :( ), and have been trying to search for a new toilet. Who would have thought it could be so difficult?
I am looking for a 'tall' potty, one that's 19 inches tall...makes my knees feel much better. Oh, well, will search again another day...too frustrated to look any farther. I have seen one that I want! Its at the Hair Salon that I go to... It's 19 inches, I photographed the mfg, and used that as my starting point after going to Home Depot...They don't have them, nor can/will they order one..
Etc. I'm turning up all sorts of interesting stuff...none that is what I want, or was even part of my search. Some days I just wanna scream.

My tax W2's are beginning to come in. Its that time isn't it?

My Lenten Rose's are almost full bloom. They look so pretty...whites and purples. And the azalea's have not quit blooming since last early spring. Its rather startling to look out and see them in full bloom over the holidays!
I also have a sporadic scattering of daffodils..but not enough to 'crow' about! They'll come, soon. I also need to look for my spring crocus..

Take care, and stay warm on Monday!

    Later...

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Colder today, but no chance of precipitation. I need to get out today or tomorrow to get canned food for Lilo. Probably today, since there is no chance of rain.

Other than that, not a lot on the agenda.

    Good Morning Ed!
Still a few clouds around, but I think it may eventually get to be sunny later!!

I didn't get the floors mopped, so that's first up...and then press some tofu and make a scramble later this morning. Also have half a head of cabbage, and cabbage and boiled potatoes sounds good..probably for dinner!
In between, I need to sew a button on more securely on my winter coat! I've only had what?, 10 months or so to do that? 37 outside, and Dark Sky tells me it feels like 28. Well, that sure doesn't make me want to run right out the door! Later today I may stick my head out and go to the gym. Everything else can wait until tomorrow! I ended up doing my 30 minutes of work out yesterday in two sections...did cardio on my recumbent bike during the first hockey break. (they're 18 minutes long), and did weights during the second break! That worked out rather well...

I think I need that second cup of coffee...or maybe green tea?? Probably will opt for the tea. :).

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! They are doing something just down the street, but not sure if it is more work on the sidewalk project or some kind of utility work. I suspect the former.

Both of us having had the two days of the weekend off, I have given Lilo her Monday fluid treatment, which she took about as graciously as always, grumping about it, and making a few small efforts to leave early, but always settling back down. I pretty much pet her and talk to her throughout the short process. Since starting with the treatments she really seems to feel better, and her appetite has improved. I am glad that, for now anyway, three times a week seems to be working out for her.

I had thought of getting out today for a couple of things I didn't get at the grocery yesterday, but that may depend on how much (and how long) today's work snarls up the traffic on the street. When I looked a bit ago, they had one lane closed off so the road was down to only the one remaining lane, which is always annoying. None of the items are critical so it's not necessary that I get out today.

Well, it turns out it's not utilities OR sidewalk construction out there. They are finally re-paving the segment of road we live on. I am hoping they can get it all done today, while school is out, and I can get out tomorrow without any problems or delays.

New sidewalk...new road...I am going to feel like we moved to a fancier neighborhood!

Hey, it you were able to stay home, indoors, count your blessings! It was COLD out there, even at 1:30 when I went out to the gym...I went to Kroger for my sparkling water...and they didn't have what I wanted. :(. I still have 2 bottles left, but....no telling when I might find it in stock.

I'm guessing that if not last night, tonite's freezing temps will kill of the blooms of all my azalea's. Going to miss seeing those bushes in full bloom. I need a 'pout meme'!!

Breakfast was a tad weird, but good and tasty..Yesterday I cooked some really old kidney beans, and I also made a tofu scramble. So, this morning I ate my banana and was still quite hungry...I thought 'Burrito' right? Except I discovered I didn't have any tortilla's. Heated a pita, carefully teased it apart so I had a nice pocket...filled it with my good vegan cheddar, the tofu, and beans...delicious, if also odd!

Tonite is going to be my old stand by, boiled cabbage and potatoes. Ted's in the kitchen right now making fried rice with tofu..cauliflower standing in for the rice. He does a good job with that. But my kitchen really doesn't accommodate two cooks...so I told him I'd wait.
I have by far the smallest kitchen I've ever had...and close to 30 years of acquired kitchen 'stuff'...its a single cook kitchen! LOL!!

WOW! New sidewalk, AND new street!! SPLOST money? Or Neighborhood Lottery winnings? LOL!!!

    See you tomorrow.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Cold right now, but will be a bit nicer later on. I need to bring Orion to have his ears re-checked today, and for urinalysis as I am pretty sure he left a gift from door #2 on the floor, nowhere near a litter box, yesterday morning. Someone did, and it looked like what he normally does in the box. So he may have been trying to say something.

    Good Morning Ed,
Messed up by watching all the video's. Now Ihave noe time to type! Not entirely your fault though!

Off to the gym, and then Publix. Lottery tickets, and vegetables, and some fruit. A 'smart' girl would go to Whole Foods TOMORROW after gym, pick up the vegetables, fruit, and hit the hot bar for fried tofu, and whatever looked good? (Limit of 2 items...or else I get carried away only to pass out at the cost at checkout!) LOL!!"

I'm thinking this after might be a good time to open a base cabinet or maybe even two, and sort them out and give them a good cleaning. ??? Or I could take a nap????

Disregard my morning post!! Actually just part of it..
I have a morning appointment with Dr.Gibson, my Chiro in Decatur! So, I will be in town, and will make my Whole Foods run there, and 'maybe' Trader Joe's...then I have to drive home, and unload whatever I've purchased, AND then hit the gym....ok, so now I'm tired!! LOL!!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Cold as the dickens out there, but should be a bit nicer this afternoon. Other than Lilo's fluid treatment, not a lot on the agenda today. Hopefully a nap this afternoon.

    Hi Ed,
Hope you got your nap...missed mine. Heading off very soon to keep my pillow company though!

After seeing chiro, I stopped at Whole Foods for my fried tofu...and you know, you gotta walk thru the entire store (slight exaggeration there) to get to the hot bar...so I also have kale, 3 more Sumo Citrus, and half dozen apples.

    Nobody starves around here. :)

And I did get to the gym too...as in gym or nap...and nap lost!

    See you in the morning!

    Good Morning Ed,
Not pretty, not warm outside. Must be winter. Yuck!
Yesterday's sunshine was wonderful, even though the high temp was only 48 degrees at my house.
Today, gym, gather trash for the curb tonite, and not much more...well, I Could sew that button more securely on my coat...I think that's been on my list for close to a month now....
Watched the extreme $30 for a week, for 6. As she said, extremely short on fresh fruit and veggies. I think a frozen bag of spinach would have come in handy..and, and.... says the lady who has spent a bit over a hundred dollars this week for groceries, and cat food. Enough kibble for 6 weeks. And a splurge here and there, like I love, Black Raspberry Jam, which I found at Whole Foods in the cheese section...but it set me back $8. So it will be a limited treat for my toasts for at least a month. Also I have more than a weeks worth of fresh fruit..apples and those sumo citrus which will keep, and can be eaten out of hand.. and there's a head of broccoli and one of cauliflower, onions, bell peppers, etc...all I can say, is I will eat well for the next 7-10 days! :)
Well, that was long and boring..sorry Ed!

Time to get my act together and do some morning chores before I head out to the gym. My gym time pays off. Its saving me visits to the chiro and consequently Whole Foods!!! Now, that's a bonus!

Everything looked good (at the moment, anyway) at the Endocrinologist. We have to wait to see how the blood work looks, and the urinalysis.

Back home and in from the damp, horrid, almost sleet sprinkles, having dropped $84 and change at Aldi on the way home. I didn't even buy the one Aldi specific item I had on the list! LOL! It wasn't critical, so it can wait. I was in there before lunch, always a mistake, but we will eat all the stuff I bought. Some of it may need to be frozen though.

    Hey Ed...
On my way to hit the hay, and decided to look in .... Glad I did!
Happy Dance for your trip to the Endo,
$84 at Aldi's should net a nice bunch of groceries!!
Curious about having to wait for your lab work for the Endo...They don't draw that a week ahead? My Primary does that. Mades the office visit go smoothly. My next annual is in Feb, and I love/hate these exams.
I know they have guide lines from Medicare, and that they have to do certain procedures...like weight, check my eye sight..have me remember about 5-6 things they tell me when they ask later in the exam. (aced that one) last year. Etc, and yet the things you would think they'd do, that would make sense...like an EKG, no can't do that with the annual. Have to do that an a different visit sometime throughout the year??? WTH??? Oh,well it is, what it is. Obviously no body asked my opinion!! LOL!!
I'm heading for bed. Tom's fed, box is cleaned, again, dishes are done, etc...I think I will sleep well tonite.

    Later...
