Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Weather looks much the same as yesterday, though a bit on the colder side. It was raining when I arose. Might do a little light house cleaning today. Might not. I do want a nap as I didn't get one yesterday, with all my runnng around.

$84 at Aldi's should net a nice bunch of groceries!!

Curious about having to wait for your lab work for the Endo...They don't draw that a week ahead? My Primary does that. Mades the office visit go smoothly.

    Later...

I was shopping hungry, always a bad idea, and did get some indulgences...but also some interesting things to try, like some protein wraps (like tortillas, but not) that I want to try for burrito like somethings. Maybe for lunch today. Some canned beans. One can went into J's dinner of chili beans and corn. That is just a drained can of whole corn, mixed with a can of chili beans, and any added seasoning needed to spice it up, along with added bell pepper, jalapeno, and/or onion, if any of that is desired. Several jars of pasta sauce, some pasta, frozen veggies, a can of chili with meat and beans (for me of course), and some shredded cheeses and sliced pepper jack. Indulgences included some very nice specialty cheeses, a roll of braunschweiger, a package of mini naan, two frozen cauliflower crust pizzas (ok, those are not entirely indulgences...they are fairly healthy, though a tad pricy), a large jar of whole cashews with sea salt (also not entirely an indulgence), a can of cocktail peanuts - but darn it, no cocktails to go with them! Of course the peanuts are not entirely an indulgence either as, in moderate amounts, they can be a healthy snack. And some Bada Bean Bada Boom roasted broad bean snacks, another indulgence only because of the price. And I didn't get the box of yellow rice mix I had on the list, though it was really my reason for going to Aldi! Their yellow rice mix is the only one I have found that is vegetarian, as most have chicken in there in some form. Yes, I CAN make my own yellow rice, but that box is so darn convenient. LOL.

My endocrinologist prefers to decide what testing to do AFTER discussing things with me, and reviewing any shared results he might have from the other doctor(s), and in this case, my hospital visit, and, of course, reviewing my glucose and blood pressure statistics for the interval. Then if he has any suggestions or instructions based on the lab work, they get posted, along with all the lab results, to a web portal where I can download them or just peruse them. No paper for the lab results unless I just want to print them.

    Morning Ed.
Did a quick read just now...you DID have a great time at Aldi's!
And your doc's method of testing makes sense too. I really only have my primary, and nothing seems to be out of whack, so her way works as well. Only once did I have to go back for a follow up fasting blood something..don't even remember what.
Am racing thru this...excuse the excessive typos, which I am sure are there.
Trying to get to the gym before the rains set in again. I COULD just stay home and do my workout, but...I have more fun at the gym. All my old buddies are there. And there will be weekend plans to share, Super Bowl, Chinese New Year foods, parties, Hockey All Star game, etc....yep, gotta go to the gym!
    Later, most likely today!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Cool out there and will remain so, but there is supposed to be no chance of precipitation. I don't think there is a lot to do today. Definitely run the dishwasher...

    Good morning Ed,
Not tooo bad outside this morning...carpets vacuumed, hard flooring washed...Guess that leaves bathrooms and sewing that button more securely on my navy P coat.

Not feeling particularly 'spry' this morning. My own fault. Woke up and a box of half dozen Krispy Kreme chocolate glazed donuts sitting on top of my lap top. And I ate two of them...and now I feel yucky! Teach me to eat 2.!!

I saw several Emmy video's. Maybe that will help my tummy settle, before lunch.
Ohh, and the donut gift-er, is right now in the kitchen making a pan of Ghirardelli fudgey brownies. I may have to move out of my own house!! LOL!

Two of my orchids are blooming, the rest, save one, have bloom stalks growing. Gonna be a nice window for a couple months!! Its over the sink, so I get to see it a lot!

I'm going to make a bee line into the kitchen while those brownies bake, and roll up a rice and bean burrito with avocado slices, and bell pepper strips, and what ever else is in the refrigerator. Then a nap...and then a trip to the gym. I should go twice today! and tomorrow too I'm afraid.

Yikes...sunshine at my house...well, it was there for a minute. By the time I saw it and got excited...it was gone! LOL!

Hope you have a nice Saturday!

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's pretty chilly out there now, but supposed to get up to 53 today. I may pop out to Kroger for a few things.

Appropriately, I made chili yesterday and had that for dinner. And again for breakfast. I have an urge to buy some fat free turkey hot dogs, and low carb, high fiber, whole wheat hot dog buns so I can use some of the remaining leftover chili for chili cheese dogs, a rare pleasure. If I play it right, I can have TWO and still stay within the boundaries for a diabetic meal, barely...no sides, of course. Or I can have one and maybe a small side dish as well.

If I do get out to Kroger today, I will definitely be checking on the availibility of the hot dogs and buns I would need.

    Good Morning!
Ted just reminded me it is 11:40, meaning I haven't been to the gym yet, am still in my pj's and robe...etc. I on the other hand view 11:40 on Sunday morning..as a morning well spent! Coffee, banana, reheat coffee, avocado toast, make Jasmine tea, sumo citrus, and finally that one chocolate glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut!
I've gone thru the mailbox, watched some video's, fed cat, and cleaned up after him.
I did slip up and do one of my 'list' items. I checked the furnace filter!! I love those one minute jobs!

The rest of the day will happen after gym and a shower...it will happen no matter what the list says! Its gonna be a laid back day..all day!

How are you and your Fitbit doing? Hope its one of the easy ones to set up...doesn't lessen the shock of learning that for 2 consecutive days your quest for 10,000 steps has been a failure! LOL!! I know I was shocked at how few steps I actually took on an average day at home. I got my first pedometer while I was still employed at the Red Cross...and I logged a whopping 3000+ steps. I thought the little counter thingy was for sure broken...:) :)

Looks like the rest of the day is going to be overcast...but that's ok. Its not frozen white stuff, so no complaints. (And it was sunny earlier this morning! )

Hope your day goes well...guessing you will be in the kitchen at some point today...Same here!

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! Cool this morning, and will be cool all day, but not too cool for me. I have given Lilo her Monday morning fluid treatment and she has disappeared, but that isn't unusual. Finished off one bag of fluid this morning and prepped the next bag so it will be ready to roll Wednesday afternoon. Despite all the medical things I have to do to her, she still wants my lap and/or to be held by me so it must not be quite as horrible as she makes it out to be while it's happening. I have often wished there were some way to communicate with my cats just enough to let them know why I am doing things. Though I am not sure I'd want to know what they have to say to me all the time!

I got the Inspire HR and it was pretty easy to set up. I got it so I could always keep an eye on my pulse. It doesn't take much to get mine moving right along! With my knees and right hip, I am basically ignoring what it "wants" me to do, especially as far as steps, and just using it as a bit of a monitor on what I am actually doing. I am in charge here, not the device. LOL. And it's easy to just swing my arm forward and back to trick it into thinking I am taking steps when I am not, so I am, as usual, a bit unimgressed with some of the technoogy. The heart rate monitor is impressive though. If the ones that measured O2 levels weren't so expensive, I wouldn't have minded getting one of those. But my phone can actually do that. It can do my heart rate too, using a finger over the camera for both, but it's not continuous for either one, and a wrist worn device like the FitBit can be.

Hi Ed! (if I said good morning I'm afraid what your fitbit would do!!!) LOL!
I watched Emmy and the boxes of Miami Fruit. That was a hoot..she did have a 'time' with the audio, etc. but she pulled it all together. Next time someone tells me we are on a path of disaster with our banana's...I will have to remember those 2 boxes of very unusual banana's. (though it would take awhile to get another strain or two of banana's up to speed (producing) enough to satisfy the demand....

I need to go clean up the kitchen...tore into a base cabinet, and now instead of having a cabinet of chaos, I have counters from hell!! LOL! Also I made a killer tofu scramble and used it in making a big burrito with canned spicy black beans, cheese, mashed avocado, etc. It was delicious. Wish I had another, but I know I could't eat another whole one...so will have to wait for tomorrow...breakfast maybe????

Also laughed at the guys using the 'Pretentious' ingredients. Would have loved to hear the audio that was cut out...(or maybe not!) :)

Met all my challenge goals for the day, and that just leaves Tues, Wed, and Thurs and I will have completed the challenge for January! Having Friday left over to not do a darn thing. Except maybe worry about what Feb. will bring! I hate the unknown, so I'm thinking Friday may be marred by fretting about Feb. first, and what it may be!!

As far as 'cheating' the Fitbit by moving your arms and remaining still...hmm. I can do that sorta with the Apple Watch...but the GPS sometimes is sharp enough to know I'm not moving. Ted did the pumping his arm trick while we drove to Hilton Head last year...and the beauty of that was it fooled the GPS, cuz the car was bolting down the interstate!!! I laughed so hard!

See you tomorrow. Earlier than post than today I hope!!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Looks like it will be a pretty nice day today. I need to get out for some cat food, but that's about all.

Woke up this morning with a carb hangover. That's what I get for taking part in National Chocolate Cake day yesterday. LOL. But it was worth it. The cake was delicious. Now it will be months before I have any of that again.

    Hey Ed!
Watched most of the video's...:). Emmy is just too much! I also watched the Twinkie Maker video. Girl is crazy! If I was eating with her, she'd have to fight me for the Snicker Twinkie...or we could of course, quietly just share it!:)
Did my gym thing...Saw my buddy Robert, who's birthday was yesterday...and he didn't come to the gym, little stinker! But we did have a good time catching up. He wasn't too overly excited about being 60. So I suggested that maybe he'd like 70 better, and he about passed out! LOL! He's nowhere near thinking forward, yet.

Made myself another breakfast burrito for 'brunch', and a sumo citrus to go with it. And 9, just nine yellow corn chips. Losing these pounds Ted helped me gain is going to be really tough.

Off to check the iPad and see it its my turn to play a Scrabble word. So far my tiles have been like 5 or 6 of 7 tiles being vowels. And I've only had a total of two tiles that have more than one point each. Really hard to come up with any kind of a decent score at this rate. But, I already have my word planned, unless Ted puts down something I can play off of and score some points.

I really would like a nap, and its nearly 3:30...Tuesday, so Jack calls at 4p. Not much of a nap today for sure...(if any nap at all)

    Later...

Thanks for the help getting the edit feature. I knew I'd used it before, but sometimes I have had issues with it...now I know why!! Makes me thinking of the 'Smarter every day' video's!! LOL!

    Hi Ed,
Just finishing my lunch...(I made a burrito bowl, saving the 220k of the burrito soft flour )...that was at 1:20 or so...fair to say I got distracted???

I got a great nap, a load of dark clothes in the dryer..my new trick...toss clothes into the washer, take a nap..transfer to dryer! It works!
So when those clothes are dry, folded, hung, and put away...I will be at the end of my list!! WOOHOO!!!

Tomorrow will be the day I meet the January challenge for my watch...Happy Day. Friday I am doing nothing!

Four base cabinets now cleaned out. Some of the things will be put back, but most not!
Only one more base cabinet to go!!! Amazing what you can collect in 24 years...groan.

Unless the forecast changes, it looks like Sun. and Monday next week will be ideal days for this ole lady to be out doors, cutting back the zebra grass, butterfly bush, etc, I'll try to remove the part (about 2/3rds) of the Daphne that survived the winter. I'm debating putting another one in its place....will have to think on that awhile.

Hope your day has been good, and that the cats let you have a nice restful nap!

Bought a new dry kibble for Tom E. Its Iam's 'Healthy Senior' I think not. Pretty sure he'd have to actually eat it to be 'healthy'. Ya think?? LOL!

    Good Morning Ed,
No post yet this morning? Hope all is well with you, Jason, and all the cats. ???
Or, you are pulling one of my tricks...type your post, and not send it.....

It's chilly out this morning, but the air is dry, and it is/was sunny. Kinda overcast. Not white, nor wet..so it's all good!

Not much on the agenda for today..gym and ?????. I'm sure I'll find something to keep me busy though.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Not a lot on the agenda today, though I do have to drop a guest off somewhere this morning. I saw him a few nights ago and realized he would need a ride asap. Or at least that I would need to give him a ride asap. He "volunteered" last night to end his stay in our garage. He's a little camera shy.

While out, I may pick up a grocery item or two,

    Good morning Ed!
Short and sweet for right now...Ted and I are leaving for Whole Foods shortly, and I'm still in jammies and robe! OOPS!
I wish I'd known you had guests, I could have brought Mr Ratus Ratus some goodies from the grocery! LOL!! Next time we have coffee I'll tell you about the rats that tried to take over my garage, and what I did to the WalMart Lady early one morning! I'm still laughing, and pretty sure she is too! Where does one take an intruder?
Have beans on cooking...old, old beans. About 4-5 years old kidney beans...I soak them over night and a lot of them split...all the better, as they cook up nicely with lots of onion, garlic, and a variety of spices..soft and creamy inside. Hungry thinking about them, and I just ate.

As rats go, this one was small to medium. Much smaller, and the cage grating would have been too big and our guest would have eaten the peanut butter and fled. But I also have a couple of humane mouse traps out there that would have eventually trapped him in that case.

We don't use snap traps as they don't always kill instantly. While I am not squeamish about finishing off a rat or mouse, it is cruel to have the creature struggling, in pain, for however long it takes to die of its injuries or be finished off by a human.

On the other hand, I AM squeamish about just murdering an otherwise healthy creature that can be rehomed, hence the live capture trap(s) we use.

He has been rehomed to a small park near the Chattahoochee river. The dumpster I released him at is near the woods, in the parking area, at the far end of the park from the "people" area, and he should not be troubling anyone there. He has a fair chance at a long, fulfilling rat life, though he will need to watch out for owls, foxes, feral cats, and possibly coyotes there. And there should be good foraging in the woods for him.

Howdy all y'all. It's satifying Saturday! It looks like it will be a nice day, albeit on the cool side.

Last night we went out to buy a desk, and stopped at a Chinese hot pot restaurant on the way home. The food was delicious, but I ate way too many noodles. Other than that, it may have been the healthiest meal we had all last month, with plenty of veggies and mushrooms.

Not a lot on the agenda today. J stayed up most of the night finishing up the "some assembly required" for the desk so will likely sleep in til noon or later today. Tonight we will probably start the month off with a pizza dinner. So much for healthy food so far if we do. LOL.

Overcast, but not too bad outside.
Ted and Maya have gone to the Bathesda (sp) park for Maya's walk. The have a nice trail there. And while they are gone, I need to get the Saturday morning cleaning done.

I did watch Emmy and those sugar cookies. I had to laugh....her 'inner child' was having a field day! Also never saw anyone get so excited over a lab coat! LOL!

Hope your day goes well, and that you didn't have any left over pieces after your new desk was assembled!!
