My visit to Early Risers was interrupted this morning, and I see now that I never got back here. SOOOO!
Nothing earth shaking...gym, nap, Tuesday chat with Jack as he drove home, etc. I did watch Emmy make the thick coffee?? Yuck?? I do wonder why the wheat/flour is so different in the south west. Soil differences? maybe some old strain of wheat? I don't think I'll spend too much time thinking about it...I put mushrooms in my coffee...flour, most likely not!

I was glad to know you're Doc thinks you're improving as expected!

News is on as I type this...I can't say I'm happy with the situation in the Middle East. ARG...
On that note, I'm going to say a 'few words' into thin air. So....

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! I have finished with the colchicine treatment, and will reserve the remaining prescription strength ibuprofen for use as needed, per my doctor's advice.

Orion has a slight bacterial skin condition in his ears and he is not at all enjoying the cold ear drops I have to rub into his ears twice a day. Last night he forgave me and laid in my lap for a while, but this morning he is still wary of me from this morning's dose. I am sure he will get over that. He's not the first cat I have had to apply those drops to, and may very well not be the last.

Lilo will get a fluid treatment later today, which is still more fun for me. Well, when one has four cats, one has whatever problems those four cats have. All part of the "agreement" made with the cat at adoption.

I might get out to the grocery today, but probably not. Right now it is cold out there, but is supposed to be quite nice this afternoon.

    Morning Ed!
Watched the Polish guy make pirogies. Interesting. Even looks 'do-able'. :)
The other video's will have to wait. Heading out soon as I hit Post Reply for the gym and several errands. Hope to be home in time for a short and late afternoon nap!
My Lenten Rose plants are beginning to bloom, AND I saw a (as in one) honey bee! I didn't see honey bees at all last year.
Looks to be a sunny day..not very warm, and there is some breeze, won't know much about that til I get out of my car at the gym! :)

So glad you're doing well, and Lilo too! Almost sounds like you're running a medical clinic over there! (I know, not funny). Just happy everyone is improving!

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! The orange and white barrels in front of our house are finally gone! There are still a few left in a couple of nearby areas where the sidewalk crew is still working, but none in front of our house. There are a couple of spots where they still need to pour sidewalk, and one entry way that has to be re-poured as they had to tear it up to re-do the culvert under it.

When they packed the beauty strip for our house with dirt, they uprooted my mailbox yet again and when they re-planted it, they didn't get it quite deep enough to be stable and it's a little bit too high up. I spoke to the site manager yesterday and he said he would take care of that. They need to dig it a couple of inches lower. They still have to do some work on the mailbox next door too, so I will wait and see if they actually take care of mine when they do that. If not, I can do it myself. Again.

Nothing on the agenda for today, I think, except Orion's ear drops. I got laundry finished yesterday. Breakfast was left over pot roast and sides from last night's dinner.

    Hi Ed,
Dan Dan noodles...will have to look next time I'm at VeGreen to see if they've veganized the pork belly, but I'd love to try it! Always wondered what they were...now I know...a lot of work!!!

Sunny and nice out today. Ted's worked on the back yard a bit, Maya is getting accustomed to being out there with leash, but not tied to anything so she can wander around. Makes her a happy dog. Tom of course went out, but came in after about 20 minutes. Still, both the animals will sleep til dinner time!

Don't know much news today. Ted and I've been watching Jeopardy the last two days. Interesting watching the 'experts' play each other! Also watching whatever hockey game is playing after Jeopardy. Couple late nights for me!

Hope your day has gone well

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Fairly warm today, with 20% chance of precipitation. I am awaiting a wine delivery, which requires an adult signature. I think they will let me sign without proof of age. LOL.

At any rate, I have nowhere I have to go today. If I did, it would have to wait until the wine arrives or gets a delivery exception.

So, Ed. Are you busy in the kitchen making fermented tofu??? Chuckle chuckle!
Tell you what, You make the cheese, and I'll make Emmy's mini chocolate chip cookies! Will have to buy or borrow an ice cream churn though! LOL!

Made my daily trip to the gym, then picked up Ted and we spent some time hunting around Whole Foods! The store out here is remodeling, while open..People everywhere in the produce department moving produce hither and yon!
Also some activity at the other end of the store, though I don't expect tooo much moving over there, cuz its the steam tables, frozen food freezers, the deli, pizza bakery, etc. Time will tell.

Hope your wine got there, in good shape, and that it didn't interfere with your afternoon nap! :)

Tomorrow I drive to ATL for a much needed hair cut! Supposed to rain, so I don't think I'll stay in town.

Howdy all y'all. It's soggy Saturday. Or at least that is the prediction. We will see how true it is. Not much on the agenda today. If it is as soggy as expected, it will be a great day for a nap!

Well, it rained here this morning, early. (while Ted was out walking the dog). And Tom E. once again proved he is not the sharpest knife in the shop. Tom E has been going out with Ted and Maya in the mornings. He doesn't walk with them, but just going out the door with them satisfies his big wide jealous streak....So, Ted said when he and Maya came back, Tom E was sitting on the front porch, in the rain, waiting for them. (as opposed to waiting on the BACK screened, DRY porch. (which is where he normally sits).

Not looking forward to driving to ATL in the rain today. I wish it was dry, today would have been a great day to go to the Botanical Gardens. If not already so, it is time for the winter blooming camilla's to be blooming. A sight I've only seen once, and it was a rainy day, a bunch of us from work went, rain coats and umbrella. It was beautiful to see Soza Forrest in bloom!

Coffee almost finished, need to fix a quick something for breakfast, then get into showering, dressing, etc. for the day.
Apple watch tells me that I will earn a week of exercise award if I go to the gym (or home biking) today. I have only done that 16 times in the past year. So, new year, new you, mindset..I've already gotten this award once in January 2020. Would be nice to see 3 or 4 time for the month. :)

Enjoy your nap...close one eye for me please. (I just don't see a nap in today's activities.)

I was just getting out of the chair when I got a text from Jack...are you home...me: No, at Jimmy's WHY?, Getting it cut now?...me:...Just finishing, WHY? (I knew something was up.)
He was at Northside Hosp. in Forsyth..(close to them), anyway...he's now in surgery...appendix. His CT scan and the decision to do surgery was happening during all that awful rain. I will drive out there in morning. By the time he's recovered, and lucid it will be late. Will head out that way in the morning.
I did offer to come out tonite, (Ted was going to drive me), but Jenn's ok, the kids are with friends for the night. And Jenn's Mom was bringing Jenn some dinner, and I suspect she'll stay with Jenn for awhile. Jen says he'd been having pain, and not sleeping much since THURSDAY!
So, I"ll be here sometime tomorrow...probably not til evening.

Hope you all weathered the storms tonite without any issues. It surely did pour rain here! A bit of thunder. But, didn't lose my electric, etc. Hope same or better for you.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday.

Wow! I hope that the surgery all worked out all right!

We actually got out in all that mess last night. J just happened to wait until it was about at its worst to decide we needed to get some parts at MicroCenter. I insisted on dinner out, since we were about as soaked as we were going to get. Fortunately, by the time we got out of MicroCenter, the rain had lessened in severity. We drove to El Porton in Duluth for a nice dinner and then came home, where everything appeared to be in order, with no power loss.

I may get out today for a couple of grocery items, and some cat food.

Here I am! Spent a little over 4 hours with Jack today. He's really suffering from the gas they've pumped into his abdomen during surgery. It's no fun, I've been there,...but as I said he's being his stubborn self, (I've been told he comes by it honestly...hmmm) and he's refused pain meds. He was up in a chair for part of our visit, and was really happy to be back in his bed. They took him for a morning short walk, and he was promised another walk for later today. Jenn and kids were there when Ted and I left. Stopped by Whole Foods for more fried tofu. I'm addicted!
I had a nearly 2 hour nap when we got home. I could have slept much longer!

That rain...and you and J were out in it. Glad you 'demanded' dinner out! There has to be some reward, right?? :):)

Hopefully I'll be more 'timely' tomorrow. I will be going back to spend some time with Jack, but maybe not quite so long. I know I always loved any visitors I had, but not for long stretches at a time. Hopefully he'll be home by Wed. or Thursday, and feeling much better by the weekend.

Did you take 'the furry kids' to the vet for their checkups, or is that happening this coming week? Hope everyone is well. And I suppose the rain will set back your 'replanting' the mailbox again?! If I saw the weather correctly, we're in for a week of rain. Its bothersome now, but will be worth it in the coming summer.

    Hey Ed,
Jack looking much better today. Still some gas pain, but not nearly as bad as yesterday.
Ted and I were coming home about 6p. Traffic, yes...but also 2 hungry people. So we stopped at Moe's and got burritos! I hadn't had a 'Home Wrecker' in years! Still tasted good!

On my way to bed shortly.Missed my nap today. Also made it to the gym this morning! Avocados and a sweet potato from the Market next door...all in under 60 minutes! LOL!

Hope your day was good, and that you got the cat food while the weather was dry today. I think I'm pretty stocked up on most everything for several days so I should be dry. Watched Emmy on u-tube channel try to make brownies from B &J ice cream...didn't work so well for her. I also watched a couple of the 'Fruity Fruit' series she did.

Hope there isn't a hockey game on tonite, cuz I am on my way to bed!!

    Will check in sometime tomorrow.

    Hi Ed,
That exp. date on the eggs is just a bit...long! I watched an expose on egg dates..it was on TV, and years ago. Pretty much those dates are useless. At that time (perhaps has changed) expired cartoons were sent back to distributer, where they got a new cartoon, and a new longer exp. date. I think I'd stick to floating an egg in a cup of water!

Guessing we're making another trip to Forsyth hosp. today. Should be released tomorrow. But he was feeling much better, Walking around with his IV pole and Jenn or PT person. Yesterday I sorta sat back and let the brothers chat. They don't see each other very often, so it was good they could touch bases.

This may freak you out...but last night I was doing a weight workout, bent over my weight bench, and was eye to eye with an adult lizard hiding on the brass trim of the fireplace doors!! I wish him well. I knew I'd never be able to catch him (though I could have in my earlier years :( ). I suspect he came in threw the garage door at some point. So, checked with Ted about just letting it 'be', and see what happens. If he 'escapes' into the fireplace he'll suffocate from wood ash. If he darts into the room, and Tom E happens to be awake...well, not a good ending there either. Wonder if animal control would come out and catch him??? LOL!!! JUST KIDDING!!

Have you opened any of this last shipment of wines? Hope they're as good as you expect them to be!!

I opened the first of the latest shipment tonight. I have MANY older bottles of wine, but this one intrigued me. Knowing, from prior experience, what Macabeo tastes like, I knew it would go nicely with my planned (and executed) cheesy tuna casserole. See my post on Facebook for details.

Take this one with an ENORMOUS grain of salt. Most of these types are overblown nonsense, or outright falsehoods. I am presenting it for entertainment purposes only. Remember all the hoopla about a "yoga mat chemical" in baked goods? As if there were any such thing as a "yoga mat chemical" anyway? Sodium bicarbonate is, I guess, a "cleaning and deodorizing" chemical, by that standard, but I still want it in my biscuits. But when you announce the name of a CHEMICAL that is in something it is SCARY! OH MY GOD! There are CHEMICALS in our food...food that is in fact made of chemicals and is going into our bodies that are made of chemicals and that NEED chemicals to survive. LOL. Didn't change my mind about any of these foods.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdJUwpiIimA

But will we really lose these restaurant chains or is it all just hype from Mashed? Of course they aren't all beloved to me anyway...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfXR3gPdPOQ

Homemade marshmallows lead to homemade smores...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-Th6VeP77o

And...grocery stores that Mashed thinks might not survive. With a cleverly positioned picture of a Kroger store at the beginning, though I am sure that is just to get our attention.

    Morning Ed,
Jack was supposed to go home yesterday...and that didn't happen...so today is the day per his Doc. I hope so, he's feeling much, much better and he's READY to be home! Understandable!
Looks like snow...feels like April outside. Enough to confuse a body!
How did your new drain, & sidewalk work out with all the rain over the weekend? I meant to ask...and forgot several days!
Saw something interesting yesterday....Tom was out in the front yard and all of a sudden I saw 'flash of movement' out of the corner of my eye....it was Tom E. chasing one of the little dogs from next door!!! Ted saw it too, and we had a good laugh and congratulated Tom E.!!! Glad he finally stood up to the little Chihuahua-esque dog.

List is short...gym. Will get there probably around 1p. Get some leg machines done, some cardio, and done!
