Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! I need to give Lilo her shot but she's happy in my lap right now, so that can wait. My phone will remind me later, so I won't forget. Usually I take care of that first thing in the morning, but sometimes get distracted by other things like getting my pot of tea started and silly things like eating breakfast.

I never did get out to the store yesterday, but may get out today. We'll see...

Day 10's wine calendar entry is from France.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! For the first time in months, I was able to easily roll the garbage and recycle bins down to the curb, with a driveway that isn't crunchy and bumpy. I really appreciated that, let me tell you! I am expecting a case of wine today so can't go anywhere, as I have to sign for that.

I do have some concerns about the delivery as the last two FedEx packages for J haven't been delivered yet. One of them seems to have disappeared to some depot that may be in Texas and the other has been "out for delivery" twice now and is currently "scheduled for delivery" today (but not listed as "out for delivery") and was, supposedly, attempted on Sunday but the claim is that no one was available to sign. Well we were both home all day Sunday and would have heard the doorbell if it rang. There was no orange tag left on the door either, so if they attempted delivery it was not here at our house.

My case of wine is, naturally, being delivered by FedEx so I am keeping my fingers crossed that FedEx can get their shiitake together and actually deliver a thing or three to our house!

Day 11 in the wine calendar brings me back to California.

    Good Morning Ed!
Sorry you're home bound today. Maybe, just maybe Fed-X will get their shiitake together and deliver early in the day. As you recall I had my issues last week. Expecting a better routing and delivery this coming Friday. If not...I will have to cancel my MisFits box. And believe me they know..I explained to MisFits how great this idea of selling less than perfect (and sometimes perfect) fruits and veggies...but sitting on a delivery truck for over 12 hours does not do a fresh fruit/veg good!

I have package coming today that has been handed off from Amazon to USPS...not holding my breath on that one either...

I need to check with Ted, and if he's not going to need the washer/dryer this morning, that will become priority #1. Followed by normal Wednesday chores!.

I went with Ted yesterday to Whole Foods...and they had the Beyond brats that Kroger didn't have. These things are tasty...notice I didn't exactly say good FOR you! Lots of fat..and it def. qualifies as a 'processed' food! Sure was good with my leftover cabbage and potato main dish from 2 days prior. I think I will freeze the other two.

Planning to watch a couple of these video's from today, and I think 2 from yesterday...but for now, Apple Watch says I gotta move!

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Will probably have to go and pick up my package at the depot today. Meanwhile, I have the first load of laundry going.

Day 12's surprise entry in the wine calendar is an extra festive bottle of bubbly. It's not Champagne, but it IS from France.

    4tlykaet24wd.png

    Thursday Throwback!

I don't have a date on this one but it looks like I would have been in my late 30s or early 40s. When I let my hair get that long, I would have natural "Shirley Temple" curls.

Today's wine "delivery" which I had to pick up. On the box was a note, presumably written by the driver, that the address was blocked by construction. I will grant that, as you approach from the north, it may look like the address is blocked, as there are a lot of orange and white barrels along our side of the street.

But if you actually come on down and look at our driveway, it can easily be seen that the address is most definitely NOT blocked. FedEx needs to teach their drivers to pay better attention.

At any rate, this crate of wine is supposed to be for partying with friends through the 12 days of Christmas.

The 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas day, but my wine club seems to be of the somewhat modern (and incorrect) belief that the 12 days of Christmas start on December 13 and go through Christmas.

Either way, I am not partying 12 days in a row to that extent. If I were 21 years old, maybe...but at my age, that's a big "nope" there.

They have three of the wines in the list slightly mis-labeled too, but that's not a big deal. They all look good to me.

Number 1 is not pure Tempranillo, but a Monastrell/Tempranillo blend. I have had this one before and it is excellent.

Number 2 is also not pure Tempranillo, but a Tempranillo/Syrah blend. And it's a full litre, rather than the usual 750 ml. I have not had this one before, but have had similar blends before and look forward to this one.

Number 7 is not a Tempranillo/Monastrell blend, but is actually a pure Monastrell. I like Monastrell, but have not had this particular one before. I look forward to the experience.

I have enjoyed some of the others before and there are a few that I have not had before. I feel sure I will enjoy them all.

I started to say 'Good Morning', and quickly realized that it's now afternoon...at your house too I'd presume?? LOL!
Home from the gym, and the bank...I learned last time there not to go banking on Fridays...payday for lots of folks maybe?...I've eaten my lunch...big bowl of sautéed curly kale..from last weeks box. I've been eating it most every day!
And filled a pita with thin sliced apple and a slice of almost cheese...with some Hummus as a 'spread'. Was good!
Now I need to get on with my chores.
This mornings doorbell brought the last of the Christmas gifts, so its rap time...oh, yeah..make that wrap time. I actually have quite a few gift bags, so I may just bag as much as I can. (Nate's LaCrosse stick will be an exception).:)

And if I get it together, I may very well catch a nap...woohooo!!

(I did my laundry yesterday.) The wine looks interesting...
AND I loved the Thursday Throwback...you were a cutie...and yes you still are! Had to get that said before you called me on it! LOL HAHAHA!

Phone's ringing...oh, from Washington DC...somebody want my opinion on the impeachment vote maybe?? Naw, someone wanting to sell me something, scam my bank account, or other monkey business. Getting several of these a day now, and some fool wants to buy my house in Wisc. Hmmm. Odd I should own a house there............never stepped foot in the state.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Rainy at the moment. I woke up at 5 and knew I wasn't getting back to sleep so I am finishing up the laundry I started yesterday. I have eaten and am on my second mug of hot tea now.

My call from DC yesterday was trying to scam me into an extension on the warranty of my 13 year old van. I only know this because they left voicemail.

Not much on the agenda today. If it's not too rainy, a trip to a grocery for a thing or two.

Day 13 of the wine calendar is this Merlot from Chile.

    Good morning Ed,
The scammers are really busy this year. I got two calls from DC yesterday, one from 'the United States", and then some assorted states. Nobody left me a message, but looking up the numbers thru Google has some interesting results...then I enter those numbers as 'do not answer' on my iPhone.

Heading for the gym shortly, and picking up some banana's at the market next door. Waiting for my organic 'MisFits' , which I see FedX has routed thru Braselton again this week. Why do I feel a bit unsettled by this. It also said 'delivery by 9pm'. Said that last week too. I thought I would enjoy this 'misfit' fruit and veggies...but not so darn sure now. Makes me sad that FedX is ruining a good thing.

Rain all day and most of the night. Though Dark Sky is showing a'mostly cloudy' around 5 thru 7 this evening. Hope that's true...will make for a nicer commute for folks getting home on Friday nite.

Will watch Emmy when I get home this afternoon. Right now I need to leave for the gym...I have an appointment with the gym's trainer. He's supposed to come up with some ideas for strengthening my legs without adding to the knee issues. We'll see...

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Cool today, with only 10% chance of rain. Yesterday was just awful, weatherwise. Cold, damp, misty and drizzly all day, capped off with real rain overnight. At least by the time the real rain came along, it was late enough that most businesses and schools were closed and the majority of people had a chance to get home. Of course, being a Friday night, I am sure that there were people out and about in it anyway.

Maybe today I will actually get out for those few groceries.

Day 14 in the wine calendar presents this wine from France.

    Hi Ed,
Yesterday (Friday) was indeed a nasty nasty day. Traffic accidents everywhere it seemed, and it was only light rain. You'd have thought it was 'surprise black ice' day. I'm so glad my gym is around the corner, and that the market with basics and more is around the corner.

Had a nice instructional workout with our trainer. I needed a good refresher...long time no use, and many of the old machines have been replaced with new equipment.

Ted went out this morning while I was still sleeping and came home with a box of Dunkins finest! So this morning I am 'running' on sugar and caffeine.....there will no doubt be a crash and burn moment in my day!

My food box was a success this week. And I now have 3 bunches of celery..ummmm. Starting today with last weeks celery to make a tasty celery almond soup! (Love my VitaMix!)

I may also make a grocery run to Publix...no need for groceries...I need a lottery ticket! :):)
That and Saturday chores will pretty much make me happy for the coming week.

If you go out I hope your traffic isn't too bad...(better this Saturday than next Saturday!) I think next Saturday should be dubbed 'Nightmare Saturday'..not catchy as the ones you make up, but it at least will be honest. Saturday before Christmas is a zoo everywhere!!

    Hi
A little time in the kitchen washing and chopping the Swiss Chard, steaming sweet potato, sauteing summer squash with onion, and I had a great lunch...I added 4 tofu and veg stuffed dumplings from the veg/vegan section in Publix. That was the only thing that didn't come in my Misfit box. So I didn't include them in the photo!
    p9h3k3pbjdg3.jpeg

So that was lunch :) Will follow up with either some orange slices or apple, or maybe even red grapefruit..decisions, decisions, decisions!!

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Maybe a little shopping today and sweep some floors. I think I have all of Christmas taken care of except remembering to get that ham out of the freezer a few days before Christmas so it will be ready to glaze for Christmas dinner.

The wine for day 15 in the Advent calendar is Chardonnay.

    Hey Ed,
    Sunny, and warming!
Laundry in the washer, and distractions all over the place! LOL!
Missed getting to the gym yesterday...will do better today.
Poaching pears later today, and half a box of tofu to do something with. Chili to be made for dinner tonite.
Maybe, some floor sweeping...part of that done yesterday. Living room and dining room yet to see the vacuum though.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It looks like it will be a pleasant day. I don't think I have to go anywhere so can mostly relax I hope. I finished going through all the old moving boxes last week, except for one box full of old photographs. That box will likely trigger some anxiety issue so I am waiting for a good time to do that. And one when I am not home alone, as I am this week. I am retired but married to a worker who generally works from home so I can still say that I am in the office alone this week! LOL.

Day 16 in the holiday countdown calendar is this California classic.

    Good Morning Ed.
Watched most of the bundt cake video...no longer hungry. I was curious to see what they did for the cranberry filled dressing one. After about 6 cakes filled with stuff I wouldn't eat, I hunted, found the cran/dressing and got the heck outta there. And we wonder why we're a sick nation. Do ya think those over indulgent delicacies were developed by the pharmaceutical companies who make cholesterol drugs, blood pressure pills, etc???? YIKES! (But, I'll bet they all tasted good) LOL!

My list for today is a trip to the gym, wrap the last 3 gifts, and Nate's birthday gift, and cook some greens, and etc. Food in the refrig that MUST be used up.

I liked your explanation of how you are alone at the office!! Too funny!

Enjoy your day...I'm going to go outdoors and enjoy the mid 60's. Some sunshine to go with that would be nice, but I'm not gonna push Mother Nature's buttons...seeing what the rest of the country gets this week, I'm gonna be really careful about what I say about the weather while I count my blessings!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! And it's rainy and cold, and supposed to freeze tonight. I have an appointment to get Lilo to the vet for her annual stuff. Other than that, I intend to stay inside!

Hey! I guess it's a bit late to say 'Good Morning?"
Well, hope your morning was good, and Lilo had a good trip to the vet. The weather forecast didn't disappoint..the day ended windy and cold! Wasn't bad early afternoon, but boy...I came out from the gym and could feel the changing temps..left Kroger and it was obviously colder, and as I left Publix...well, I really wanted to go back inside the store. Brrrr!
I'm thinking I may have to get my winter coat out. The hoodie though warm, just not warm enough!

Enjoying the Carol Burnett video's. They always make me laugh out loud!

Tom E. thinks I need to sit on the couch with him...I guess there won't be any peace around here til I do either! LOL!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! We are looking for a high of 46 sunny degrees today.

Lilo is getting on in years and the bloodwork and urinalysis yesterday indicated she is going into renal failure. I can keep her comfortable, for some time, with regular subdermal fluid treatments.

She enjoyed (hah!) her first one this morning and will have 3 a week (MWF) for a few weeks and then re-check her numbers.

The first one was difficult, as expected, as I haven't done this in over 10 years, and she is not used to holding still with a large needle poked into her, and feeling cool liquid flowing in.

We'll get better at it. She did enjoy the treats before and after. LOL.

    Good Morning!
Quick..need to get ready to traipse off to the ATL. Love being there, love my Chiro, love going to Midtown Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, etc...hate the drive there and back....
If I ever won an obscene amount of money I'd hire a driver, and a Vegan chef. Oh hell, I'd even hire a maid service to clean, dust and polish!!! LOL!!
I'm so sorry Lilo will be needing fluids sub Q. I'm keeping the kitty in my thoughts. That has to be a traumatic procedure for an animal. People you can talk to..animals not so much. Hopefully she won't need more than the initial 3 sessions, and that her blood work will improve. Can't be easy for you either Ed. I know how you love animals.

Will welcome seeing the sun today...wish it was a tad warmer though. Maybe if the wind doesn't try to blow us away. I came out of Kroger yesterday, and the wind was just blowing. I caught a glimpse of myself in the hatch window, and had to laugh. My hair was blowing straight up! Everywhere. Looked like I was touching one of these static electricity machines that they have at science fairs...I really was funny looking!! So, maybe not so funny today??? (I can hope, right)

She will be getting three per week until re-evaluation to determine how much it is helping, and whether we need to go to every day. This will continue until it is time for her to cross the rainbow bridge. Our first cat went 6 months on fluid treatments at the end.
