Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Not as cold, but 90% chance of rain. I don't think I need to go anywhere tonight, but a nap would be lovely since I didn't get one yesterday, and got up early today to boot. Might get a little housecleaning done. I started on the vacuuming yesterday.

Oddly enough, this wouldn't be the first kind of "levels" I would think of with chili...I would think mild, medium spicy, hot, and MELT YOUR FACE.

    Hi Ed!
I've been getting rainy drizzle since yesterday...this morning I already had 4.2 inches of rain in the gauge. I think that was rain since midnight.

I walked into Kroger yesterday to pick up cat food and sparkling water...and right in front of my eyes was a refrigerated case with Brats and meat balls...all Vegan! Because you had talked about cooking and eating them, I picked up a package of the Brats. They are better even than I expected. Had one at lunch time with some fried cabbage, with some nice grainy mustard on the side!! Oh, Yum!!!

Went to the gym this morning, and enjoyed talking to members, one guy I hadn't seen in several years! Always fun. What isn't so fun, was earlier in the week a lady was checking in, looked over at me and said "Valerie, so good to see you" we chatted for a few minutes. When she left the desk area I asked what this woman's name was!! I have absolutely no memory of her! That can be embarassing!

I think a nap is a great idea for today, And I'm heading that was, right now!

    Later...

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Looks like it will be a nice day. I may get out for a few things. I bought some frozen pancakes at Aldi. If I eat them with plenty of protein on the side a serving of three makes a nice treat for me at breakfast. I often don't have any syrup on them, saving that option for when I have earned a MAJOR treat. I remember the old NS dry pancake mix that people converted into all sorts of yummy muffins, cookies, etc. I even developed a recipe for breakfast Snickerdoodles from that mix! I was sad when they discontinued it.

When I take an after breakfast reading, I'll see what impact three, small, no syrup pancakes have, along with eggs and sausage. Blood glucose readings have been looking really good the last several days. I have been keeping a slightly closer watch on what I eat, and since starting up with OnDuo I have a coach who is much more available. We can leave messages in the app and he (or she - there are two but only one has communicated with me so far) can help me set realistic goals. Unfortunately I am still the one who has to try to meet those goals. I always get the difficult part! But having frequent (at least weekly) contact with the team will help to keep me on track, I hope.

Much to my surprise, my insurance plan is not only paying for the OnDuo/TelCare membership, but sent several mailers suggesting it, and letting me know that it was fully covered! I don't know how long that will be paid for but I want to get the best out of it while I can. I am sure that my local endocrinologist will be pleased about this when I see him next, in January.

    Good Morning Ed!
Chore day for me today. Had my breakfast and coffee..so after my hello to you, its start laundry, grab the vacuum, and dance with the floor mop...HA. Almost, almost makes it sound fun??!!
What is "OnDuo ". I take it from what you said, its a support group..for food/diet/etc in general, or for T2D? I hope it works out very well for you. Although as I recall you were doing pretty good on your own! I think my next appointment is early Feb. If I dropped 6 pounds my little doc would be over the moon! Scale's been going in the wrong direction for about 6 weeks. Not a good thing.

So how are the 2 little men doing? Still chattering at/to each other? I get tickled just thinking about them doing that. Don't you wish you knew what they were 'saying'!?!? lol!!

    My time's up...

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Another cool one here, with no chance of precipitation. Might do some things around the house today.

Might not. LOL. But I do plan to cook the Italian sausage links I thawed out. Probably lunch and dinner today, and maybe breakfast tomorrow too.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! Optometrist appointment today for my annual vision check. I just had my annual diabetic eye health exam recently. My doctor in Memphis combined them into one visit, but the place here wants the ophthalmologist to do the medical exam and the optometrist to do the vision check. They are billed to different insurance, so I guess that's not really unreasonable...

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! I have been up for hours, but distracted by all the usual stuff.

I may get out to the grocery today if I can get past all the construction work. They have resumed sidewalk construction on our street.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It should be a pretty nice day, with no chance of precipitation. I might get a little housework done today. And cook that random package of fish that I pulled out of the freezer last night. It's either perch or catfish, but I didn't even look to see when I pulled it out. LOL. As there are a couple of largish pieces of whatever it is, it may be lunch AND dinner. We'll see I guess.

    Good Morning Ed.
As I scrolled down the link to get to this place. I saw 2 Emmy vid's I'd missed seeing...Will see those over lunch. Right now I need to hop into the shower, and make lunch, which is when I will watch Emmy

I was also glad to see that the county is finally getting around to laying sidewalks down your street! Pain in the butt now, but will be nice to have once they're done!

Are you familiar to the 'TaskMaster' videos. Ted has gotten me watching them! True laugh out loud British series!
Some of the early ones are also available on U-tube. If you've got a spare minute....

Today's list starts and ends with a trip to the gym. I'm sure there will be other things that come along as the day progresses. :) Like a trip to Walmart for cat food. Opened the last can this morning.....(not a good spot to be in)

I'm also curious about the Costco video...though it appears to be about their in-store cafe. I can sum that up pretty quickly.....not my food! But, to be fair, I will watch it.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It looks like another pleasant day here, aside from all the ruckus outside with the construction. I don't have to go anywhere today, but might go somewhere anyway, to pick up a few items.

    Good Morning Ed
Guess we'l both be out and about today. Heading to Decatur for hair cut, will stop at Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's as both those stores are on my route home!
And of course, Thursday demands all waste baskets get emptied...and carts to the street.
Oh, and my dear friend Laundry will also demand a 'few minutes in the dry sauna' after their swishy swishy spa/Tide treatment!

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Another pleasant day expected here with 20% chance of precipitation. Not a lot on the agenda today. I am hoping that my new glasses might be ready but not holding my breath on that.

201.1 on the scale this morning.

Hi Ed... can you see this??? LOL!! Getting new glasses will be exciting. Hope they are ready for you sometime today!
My day is a trip to the gym, actual cardio workout, using the laundry place near the gym to get that comforter washed and dried, then off to the bank to deposit 2 checks, and home again!!!
That should take up most of the middle part of my day!

It as spit rain here a little bit. Ted and Maya came back from Maya's morning walk, just 'damp'. So I guess we can count that as rain?

Going to look into the Roasted Smashed Potatoes. That could be 'interesting'!!

Sorry, I didn't quite ignore the fact that you shared your weight. I just can't recall ever knowing your actual numbers, just that you posted last Doc visit that you were down (I think) 4 lbs and your Doc was very pleased.
So if its fess up time....yikes...I hate this number...but its up to 167 this morning. I loathe scales, but I hate how my clothes fit! How often do you weigh yourself? I guess we have to own up to our ups, as well as celebrate our downs??? LOL!! For reference...normal, (top of the range) was 138 when I originally lost my 100 pounds. If/when I see that number again, I will be MUCH smarter. Nobody seemed to be able to tell me how to maintain that weight. And at the time, NS was no help at all. And the boards were even worse. All the posts were people moaning about how poorly they were eating, OR how much weight they'd regained! SOOOOO, I feel a bit more secure about how to maintain, just need to get those 38 pounds gone. I thought Vegans were supposed to be skinny???? Nope! But we are a healthy bunch, unless we eat vegan junk food! And I do that unfortunately.
    See you in the morning!

    Good rainy southern kinda day!
    Excellent day for a nap!
Rain ending about 4 this after, so gym will go in that slot. Meanwhile, laundry is getting pretty miffed that it's been neglected all week...Today's the day...
Ted's planing to make 'test' pies today because Ted always brings the pies, and since he's using a stove that's new to him...=...test pies are in order. I know there will be apple. I doubt there will be pumpkin....what's wrong with that? plenty! I don't do pumpkin spiced anything all year long...and there will only be a pumpkin pie if I bake one. Which I very well may do...crustless, and with non-dairy 'whipped cream in a can'....Probably do this on black Friday, cuz who is crazy enough to purposefully go out with the traffic, and crowds on that day! :)

Do the cats get tastes of T-Day turkey, or cheezy potato, or stuffing???? Just curious.........
I know Jack and Jenn give dogs little bites of this and that on T-Day.

Later... (right now, I'm gonna watch Emmy video!)

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It looks like it will be a nice day today, with fairly cool/cold temperatures and no chance of precipitation. Today I will try to make up for the nap I didn't get yesterday. Aside from that it was a pretty good day. The rain stopped late in the afternoon and it became a pleasant, though gusty, evening. We went to Lowe's to get some storage crates, and then stopped at a BanglaDeshi (like Indian but not quite the same) restaurant on the way back for a tasty supper that was definitely not fast food! Fortunately the appetizer was fairly prompt, so after splitting that we didn't exactly feel starved while waiting for the main meal.

On a whim, got an the scale this morning and saw 199.3. I know that weight fluctuates and that if I were to check tomorrow, it might not still be on the right side of 200, but all the same...

    WOO HOO!

Their canned cat food alternates between chicken and turkey anyway. I do see to it that turkey falls on Thanksgiving. Lilo, on the other hand, eats special food for older cats and it doesn't seem to come in a turkey flavor. She doesn't care for the chicken and giblets flavor. This year's turkey is Cajun spiced so she won't be getting any of that either. The young cats aren't really interested much in human people food. Lilo can have a little bit of the ham and a taste of whipped topping.

    Morning Ed!

Our scales are in cahoots, Mine went up, so yours could go down!! LOL!!!

Ted's in the kitchen making pie dough, peeling apples, and messing what could be called an alchemy of spices and sugars!!! Don't think my scale will be heading south this week either!

Gy later today, I see sunshine out the window, and what few leaves are on the trees are just fluttering on the twigs, not interested in learning to fly like a 'proper' autumn leaf!!!

Interesting what your cats will eat and/won't? don't? want.
Tom still eats cheese on occasion, rarely will eat kibble, and prefers 'Flaked' wet food. Who knows why??? Before Whole Food bought out Harry's Farmers Market, which was maybe 3 miles from home, I'd sometimes get fish trimmings...cook them, and put them out for the very happy cats! (that was back when I had 5of them)...

Did I mention I bought a TJ's vegan banana nut bread when I was in town this week??? One more slice, so will have that tomorrow with my coffee, but for now, my coffee cup is empty, and I'm heading for the shower.

Well, the younger girls do sometimes like cheese sauce, if I am making mac and cheese, and Lilo is a CHEESE FIEND, especially loving Mozzarella, sharp Cheddar, and sometimes American, and, of course wants to evaluate the cheese sauce...sometimes eating it, and sometimes not. But at her age, she is often in odd food moods.

Lilo loves chicken, bacon, ham, but other pork not so much, turkey, and beef, occasionally lamb, but not if it has rosemary seasoning...and tuna. She and Kiara share (well, Kiara manages to get a little...) the water from the tuna can when I eat any and have drained the water off.
