Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! One never knows who may be lurking in this chat so I address all known and any unknown persons and/or ghosts!

Still posting to Roger's Humorous Pictures thread too.

We're expecting a high of 75 today with 10% chance of precipitation. I need to get to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription, and while out I might run by Publix to pick up a couple of things.

No nap yesterday as I was on the road from about 2:30 in the afternoon until 11:00 at night. I drove to Clinton, TN to pick up the new sugar glider and he is now safely in the separated (but adjacent) space next to Clyde. They haven't met face to face yet, as we kept the new one in a bird cage that is itself in the larger space adjacent to Clyde's space. So he's in a cage within a cage. Clyde was VERY interested as he could hear the new glider chattering (or crabbing, as it's called) about everything. Apparently new guy is a bit wild as he escaped into the basement at the breeder's place and was running free for a while, but we hope to tame him over time.

Of course Kiara and Orion (especially Orion) are also VERY interested in new guy, which was another reason to keep him in a cage within a cage for his first night here. He did come out of his hanging cloth bag once we got him settled, and put his food in the cage with him, and he seemed very active and curious.

Because of his semi-wildness the breeder charged only half what he usually does so we got a bargain basement sugar glider.

I did, after taking care of everything, get to bed shortly before 1:00 this morning. Definitely going to work on a nap today!

    Hey Ed!
Glad you had a good trip! So you got a 'wild child'! Should spark interest all around! Brave of you with the cats!

Ted called this after, to let me know the movers will be here with his things on Wednesday morning! My job is nearly finished...so everything looks to be on schedule, baring any unexpected happenings!

Made it to the gym today! Finally. My attendance the past two weeks has been sorta 'spotty'.

Hope you got a really good nap this afternoon! J is home now too? I hope.

I now know the difference between crumpets and English muffins! I don't think I've ever eaten crumpets...may have to give them a try, after I get the rings... :)

Tom had a late breakfast, and so now its finally time for his dinner.

J got home, on his motorcycle, about 35 minutes after me, on Sunday night. He and I worked together to get the new little guy fed and bedded down for the night. I need to go work on tonight's food. I set a few frozen blueberries out to thaw for tonight's fruit. Last night they had mango, which Clyde really likes, and new guy seemed to like all his food well enough. For proteins they got small diced, cooked chicken, dusted with vitamin and calcium mixture, honey vanilla Greek yogurt, and canned mealworms.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Expecting a high of only 69 today with 80% chance of rain. I don't think I have to go anywhere, which is good since I woke up to a dull headache and aches. And rain, which I suspect is the culprit for the headache and aches, both of which have subsided to some extent, what with breakfast and my usual hot tea. I'm on my second mug (of four) so far.

I have given Lilo her Tuesday shot (and the required treats) and she is in my lap now. In her old age, she wants a lot of lap time, cuddling, or at least to be very near one of us, with occasional wanderings off to a couple of known extra-warm spots far an occasional short while.

    Hi Ed,
Another busy day here for me...I am about to get my gym clothes on, and get that and a quickie stop at Publix off my list, first thing!
After that...I have a shelving unit to clear/clean off so it can be moved, and the list goes on...and on.

I was just about ready to come share dinner with the new SG, until I got to the 'mealworms'...nope, at very best they are fish food...not animal of any hierarchy food! LOL!! (yes I noticed the chicken and yogurt too)

Glad J was home to help, hope he didn't get caught in any rain or other bad weather.
I am so thankful that I don't get weather/barometer headaches or other general body aches. I did when I was younger, but about age 40 they (headaches) went away. I always wrote them off as sinus related, but now that I'm a bit better 'educated' on headaches, have reason to believe they could have been migraine's. Oh well, important part is that they went away!!

I watched a couple of yesterday's vid's...in a minute I will forward to you a uTube that I found fun and funny. Maybe the best part of baseball????

Bit chilly our this morning! and forecasted for same tomorrow. But the sun will shine, and if its anything like yesterday...weather will be exceptional!

Gah! I posted. I had videos. I WATCHED the videos on this site! I don't know where it went. Let's try this again!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Another pleasant, cool day in the forecast. My kind of day!

Mr. Crabbypants (my temporary name for the new glider - I am not the one picking his forever name) has been released from his cage within a cage into the larger space and seems to like it. He and Clyde spent some time at the barrier last night "getting to know" each other. Yes, you can read that as chattering and swiping at each other and apparently trying, unsuccessfully, to fight. That's why there is a barrier. LOL. If they can learn to get along, we may, at some point, let them cohabit, but if not, at least each will know that there is another sugar glider in the "colony" and they are not solo.

Mr. Crabbypants found, and ate, all his food in the larger space, and he was bouncing around in it early this morning. He did chatter (crabbing) at me a bit but not quite as much as he had been.

    Good Morning!
Ted's settling in, his big white Husky is now resting under his drawing table! She, Maya, has roamed the house all morning, and yesterday...just lookin' and smellin'....finally landed, and now sleeping on her bed (which is under his drawing table!

Had some fun yesterday. I went to the gym, and met the CEO of Planet Fitness. Not being one bit shy, I introduced myself and explained my 8 year employment with Planet. Also told him how grateful I was for the seated elliptical and how I used it to rehab my broken leg this year. And he shared that 'they' had purchased this rehab manufacturing plant, and so Planets have had these pieces of furniture for about a year. Nice guy!

Its looking sunny outside...that's a good sign!
I totally enjoyed the uTube of all the cats that just sorta 'appeared'. Yep, that's how you get 'em!!! I got mine, as you may recall, when they were dropped off by their feral Mom. Guess she thought I was the daycare house??

Hope you're still holding out for that nap later on!

I'm off to the gym shortly...

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! 60% chance of precipitation today with a high of 63. I may get out for some cat food. I HAVE to do that within a few days, for sure.

Mr. Crabbypants seems to be very active in the late evenings and early morning. He had eaten all but one tiny bite of his fruit (dried pineapple last night) and pretty much all of his chicken, Honey Vanilla Greek yogurt, and mealy worms. I am told that he and Clyde are still working things out but not chattering (crabbing) at each other quite so much, and, perhaps, a bit less trying to swipe at each other through the bars. I am not up late enough to witness this drama.

He was bouncing around his cage after I ate my breakfast, and I got a few dark, not very good, shots. Presenting Mr. Crabbypants!

Ted and I went to Whole Foods. We're sharing a refrigerator...he's now at Home Depot picking up??? Guess I'll find out when he gets home. :)
Thanks for the pix of the crabbing Sugar Glider! Hopefully they will be good buddies before you know it!
I'm going to add a pix for Vegan Holiday Nog. I never liked Egg Nog, so I'm not at all interested, but thought Jason might be....and its from Aldi's..so it should be available if you all want to try it!
Hoping for at least a brief nap today..but some stuff I need to do first. So...pix and send!!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! I have to decide what to make for tonight's Halloween party and it doesn't have to be bake beans. LOL. It might be baked beans anyway, but I don't feel as obligated since it won't feature grilled burgers and hot dogs, so I could make some other sort of hot dish. There usually aren't nearly as many people at the Halloween party as at the summer pool parties. Remus was bouncing all around his part of the cage this morning, and may still be doing it. He is certainly an active little fellow in the mornings. No wonder he eats up all his food!

    Hello Ed!
Boy and I late today! First I was a bit late getting up, then I realized I only had a pretty short window of time to watch the movie I'd rented...So, I watched Game Changers while I ate my breakfast. Its a great movie about vegan athletes. I watched on Amazon, but its also on Netflix, and Google. soooo, that brings me to the present.
Watched Emmy make corn on a hot dog 'cob' That was too funny. Have to give it to her for perseverance! That girl is a nut case!! LOL! And I also watched today's video about Grandpa....I didn't understand a word of it??? My ears?? Looked like he was in bed, so I'll assume he was/is still sick?
I need to finish running the sweeper,...big hairy white dog...:) This could easily become a daily chore! She's so sweet though, who could mind?
After I get the vacuuming done, its off to the gym...I said that yesterday, and didn't make it to the gym. So, today is a 'must' for me.
And that's about all from here.
    Enjoy your Halloween party.!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! The party was great and I even got to spend a bit of time with some friends I had not seen in about a year, maybe more! As it turned out the main course was barbecue pulled pork. My baked beans would have been a perfect fit with that, but I didn't make baked beans, for once. LOL. People did enjoy my Spicy Cheesy Fiesta Hash Brown Casserole though and I got a recipe request from one new friend.

After chatting a while, he also wants to learn how to make shepherds pie and, perhaps, some general cooking methods and tips. He says he can make spaghetti sauce, mashed potatoes, and not a lot else. So I foresee a dinner visit or two, some time, with lessons on some general, non-recipe oriented, toss together dishes that he can easily prepare, along with the shepherds pie recipe. He can make the mashed potatoes for the topping of the shepherds pie!

I did warn him that the hash brown casserole is a party sized recipe. I can make a smaller version but I don't exactly cut all the ingredients by the same amounts when doing so. He says he would have to make the whole thing. Apparently he can follow a recipe, but isn't good at using a recipe as more of a guideline and mostly just winging it on the exact quantities and actual ingredients and such.

Here is my casserole from last night. It was a smaller party, maybe 36 people, and there was a lot of potato salad available too. About half my casserole was eaten. Guess what I had for breakfast?

Orion really loves this little blanket that we made for the sugar gliders. Fortunately they have plenty more.

This one found its way to the floor months ago, or he stole it from where we used to keep the stash of clean pieces, and once he found it he claimed it.

I tried to get it back to wash it, and put it back with their extra blanket supply, but he knew where I they were and, even after I put it someplace else he wasn't aware of, kept trying to get it back and knocking other stuff off where they used to be.

So I gave it back to him. Apparently he formed an instant attachment and it's his favorite toy. Dinah plays with it now and then but isn't attached to it the way Orion is.

He carries it around, singing to it, and tosses it in the air to pounce on it and bat it around. Sometimes he just carries it around and lays down beside it. He is so happy with it that we don't mind letting him keep it.

    Good Morning Ed,
Today we are having a family celebration for Ted's 50th birthday! So, there's that...and I have laundry going, and am drinking my coffee...After bragging about not having a headache...just a little mostly un-noticed little annoying ache!
Love the story about Orion and the little blanket! I just gave Tom E. a beautiful furry bed. It was Maya's, and she being a picky dog, would have no part of it. So, I've put it on a garden chair on the porch, so it's up off the floor, and I made it so the bed part was smaller, and the rest of the excess covered the back of the chair, and the sides of the chair. Making a nice 'cat sized' place to snuggle into. We'll see if he uses it. I set him in it, and sweet talked to him, and pet him, and he immediately jumped out when I turned away! Animals!!!

Have laundry going, and need to get myself ready for a gym session...and a stop at the market for an avocado, and a couple small white potatoes...There is some Colcannon in my near future...well, maybe not til tomorrow since we'll have late luncheon.

Hope your day goes well...please teach your 'student', how to cook vegetables! Like roast some brussels, and how to properly, and lightly sauce some broccoli, etc. :) Gotta eat your veggies ya know???

    Good Morning Ed,
I don't know about your end of the county, but the fog just rolled right in this morning on my end!
Nothing very 'exciting' planned for today. Just general stuff, and a trip to the gym, and a couple grocery stores. Kroger, Publix and the Market. That should about do me in!
Yesterday Ted and I met Jack & Jenn, O & N in Lawrenceville for a late lunch. They didn't have a lot of choices for Ted and I, but, they did have a bean burger...a nice moist, big fat, delicious burger. A mildly smoked taste with lettuce, tomato and avocado slices. Then we walked a few blocks to a place for coffee, only to find it closed on Sunday's, as were most of the stores in that area!
And my bonus for the day was a call from the Solicitors office saying that the other party was going to plead guilty, and I shouldn't need to be there. (but they would call, if anything changed) I have my fingers crossed that he pleads, and I don't have to go!
I've had my coffee, eaten my banana, and may as well get into my gym clothes at get my party started for today!

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! It was very foggy when I got up. After the fog clears, I will probably head over to Kroger for a few things. Remus was bouncing around this morning and deigned to come to the bars and sniff my hand. twice. I feel that this is progress.

I was posting humorous pictures when I saw you were posting, Val. LOL
