Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! Another hot, dry one here. I don't think there is anything critical I need to get out for. Still having some trouble processing Bonnie's death. It was so sudden.

As this left Clyde without his mate, and sugar gliders do not do well alone, being social creatures, who generally need another sugar glider or colony, we feel we have three options.

One is to re-home Clyde, though we love him and don't want to give him up, and don't really believe anyone else can take care of him as well as we try to, though I suspect our disbelief is rooted in simply the fact that we don't want to give him up.

Another is to just try to give him more of our attention when he is awake and active, and hope for the best. The problem is that sugar gliders are largely nocturnal and we humans are not, and it would mean spending more time with a hand in the cage, with a chance that Clyde might accidentally escape and be killed by the cats.

We really don't think that escape is likely, as Clyde is well aware of the cats and is not likely to want to escape the safety of the cage. So the major worry here is whether keeping him alone might lead to a fairly rapid decline in his health, mental and/or physical.

And, of course, if we spend more time at the cage, the cats may become more interested in finding ways to get closer to Clyde. Orion and Kiara have always been very interested in the sugar gliders, and sometimes try to get at them. They really can't, but that doesn't stop them from sometimes terrifying Clyde. Bonnie seemed to learn early on that they couldn't really get her and she was pretty fearless, in fact to the extent we worried some that a cat might succeed in clawing her, if she got too close to certain corners, though that never happened. She wasn't in one of those corners when she died, and was completely unmarked, externally.

We are starting to look into the third option, which would be to adopt another sugar glider as a new companion for Clyde. I think, as he would do better with another companion, that we, as good pet parents, owe it to him to find another one, as we probably can't bring ourselves to re-home Clyde. We have to do what's best for him.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Another hot one here, but I may have to go out for a few things. We are down to two eggs, so unless some hens miraculously appear in the yard, and lay us a bunch, we will be out later today. LOL.

    Good Morning Ed.
I hope you have good luck finding a buddy for your Sugar Baby. I wouldn't even know where to start looking!
Tom and I are fine, I've had my shower and breakfast, Tom E. just breakfast! :)
On my way to the gym, and a quick cat food run to Walmart, maybe a short stop at Aldi's (since I'm going right past it) the advert for the potted mums caught my attention. Price certainly is right.
Its trash day, and my goal is to work on the not necessary 'stuff' in the front room. Ted and I got off to a good start, then I fell down on the job, (not physically fell mind you)...So I'm aiming to fill one of my large lawn and leaf trash bags...(trash morning tomorrow, Friday morning)
No need for the old witness again today...so its Friday, or maybe next week???? Yikes. It hasn't rained for weeks and weeks, so in my head I can see rain drops falling on my head, and me having to drive in it down/up 316 and trudge to the courthouse...sounds like a lovely way to spend a rainy Monday, right????

    For now its gym time!

    Later...
Oh thought some more about the pumpkin Spam...answer is the same, still just no!!! Yuck!!!!!
I will assume you posted that online to antagonize some of your friends, or to make sure they wouldn't invite themselves over for one of you great dinners!!!! Cleaver, Ed...Clever!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Air quality alert here, so outdoor time must be limited. I might get out, briefly, for a couple of items.

    Hi Ed!
Nap time, but thought I'd better check in first! Woke way early (for me) and went to Walmart for the usual this morning BEFORE the gym!! Home now, watched noon news with Tom E. on my lap. Then ate my lunch, and now its time to snooze.
That Air Quality alert has been showing on my weather app for days! Hopefully it will go away this weekend with the new air current direction.... I'm way ready for some cooler temps.
Not much new here. Ted's coming out tomorrow to do the lawn..its beginning to look a bit shaggy after 3 weeks. But its been so dry...
The whole week has 'expired' and no days for old witness me to appear in court!?!? Not sure what happens next.
I've put a call in to the lady who's been calling, answering questions, etc. My guess is that she's the Solicitor? maybe? Whatever, my hope is that the case was settled and I'm 'done'. Fingers crossed.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 74 out there with an expected high of only 78 today with 20% chance of precipitation. I need to get out to a hardware store soon for a full spectrum or daylight tube to replace the light over the kitchen sink that feeds the plants on the inside window ledge. That side of the house doesn't get any sunlight through the windows as it's shaded by large evergreen trees. They had the right size tube at Publix but only in Warm White.

I also need to get more canned food for Lilo as she is starting on her last can today. She only gets a quarter of a can per day as she won't eat more than that of it, and she wants kibble for the rest of her food. At 16 1/2 and not very active, she doesn't need much food. That doesn't stop her from needing to see and sniff EVERY plate of food I eat. You would think she is a dog, not a cat!

Clyde seems to be doing better than expected without Bonnie. He is eating all his food anyway, and responsive to attention. Still waiting on a reply from the one person I contacted regarding another sugar glider to keep him company, but if that doesn't work out we may be able to keep him happy enough by himself.

Orion, and to some extent Kiara, kept trying to bother him at one particular corner of his cage that they could get really close too so I rigged up some boxes to block them from getting to the closest point, and moved Clyde's water bottle higher as well. While it is still in that corner, it is now high enough that the cats can't get as close to bother him while he is drinking.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! High of 80 with 10% chance of rain predicted for today. Right now it's pleasant 68 outside. I will probably get out for a while today and buy a few things we need...while I still have any money, LOL. I get paid on the 1st(retirement) and the 5th(annuity) and then the well is dry until the next month.

My internet is going in and out this morning, but hopefully I will be able to post this!

Oh Ed!! have you stepped outside? Finally somebody turned off the oven!!
Not too much to do today, little laundry so I don't have to tomorrow, and in generally just piddling around, quite possibly with a fluffy duster in one hand!
I'm considering a second cup of Mushroom Coffee. The bottom of my cup showed up long before I wanted to see it! :)
Watched them sandpaper apples, and the poutine video. That was interesting. Not that I'll be sanding any apples or making poutine...just watched out of curiosity!

Enjoy your shopping, and won't it be nice to shop AND have a cool car to get into????!?!?

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! 65 now with a high of 83 expected, and 10% chance of rain. I may get out just because it's a nice day! Got a bit of housecleaning done yesterday, and may get a bit more done today.

    Good Morning Ed
While you were sleeping, somebody cloned me...but they messed up my sleep/wake cycle! Waking at 3 a.m. is no fun! From what I recall of the last time it only lasts for a day or two!
So, I've been up for awhile now...Had my coffee,
Laundry drying, and more laundry washing...
    Gym, and Jack chat...
That's my day. (Maybe tuck a nap in there somewhere? I hope!)

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Looking for a high of 78 today, with 40% chance of rain. Clyde was very active last night and quite interested in dis food when I brought it. Kiara started sneezing last night. She slept fairly quietly, next to me on the bed, but did sneeze a couple of times when I checked on her in the wee hours. And she is still having sneezing bouts this morning. Her eyes look clean and clear and she has relatively long periods between bouts so I am not too concerned as yet. I have given Lilo her Tuesday shot (and the required treats right after) and all the other cats seem to be their usual selves. With Halloween coming up we are glad that we were able to give Orion a furever, safe, indoor home last year. We didn't adopt him BECAUSE he is black, but certainly didn't let that stop him from picking us.

Might get out today for a couple of things, and maybe have lunch out. And a friend may come over after supper for a visit, if he's not too worn out from work. J is out of town until (probably) the 20th.

    Good Morning Ed!
Early, not as early as yesterday, but ......We should name this clone Valine! (an alt name I was given when I lived in ATL by my apartment managers!...
Nice chat with Jack yesterday. Did you know that gray squirrels (mostly what I see here) are not native to this country? That our wonderful forefathers imported them from Europe, and added them to large parks, etc. that they had already created trying to bring humans into the cities...they thought the cute little furry things would make the parks more interesting. HA! I"ll try to remember that the next time one of the little fuzzy tailed rodents tries to move into my house. :)

Expecting another very nice day today temperature wise. I did not get even the first drop of rain, which only means that I will have to water. Weeds aren't growing..never a good sign, my purposely planted, and tended sorta haphazardly, moss is also going beige...not pretty or nice. So hose dragging time today.

I didn't get to the gym yesterday until 6 p.m. and I won't make that mistake again....it was crowded, but everything I wanted to do was always available, and the traffic for that 0.9 mile trip was way to messy. Nope, my gym time seems to have boiled down to a range of 10a to about 1p. (give or take).

As far as I can tell at this point, I am getting a roomie, for an undetermined length of time. Ted is very likely going to move into my 'extra' space. It works nicely for both of us. I could stand the company, etc. He even shared with me that my neighbor Lu had suggested to him while I was dealing with my broken leg, that I 'NEEDED???" someone here to help me? really??? I thought I was doing a pretty decent job on most fronts! But that aside, I am looking forward to spending some time with Ted.
It will be a big challenge for both of us, each having lived alone for a very long time. 16 years for him, and 20+ for me. Should be interesting! :)

Ok, we probably best both get on with our day....I have noticed that 'Grandpa' has yet to re-appear in these videos. I do hope the old guy is o'kay and just needed a break. Also nice to see those other guys (children? ) step in and keep the kids well fed.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! I remembered at a bit after 7:00, as I was getting out of bed, that today is garbage/recycle pick up so quickly scrambled into clothing and got those down to the street. From the positions of the next door neighbor's bins, it didn't look like I was too late getting them down. The garbage is usually picked up pretty early, often gone by 8:00 (hence the quick scramble when I got up) and the recycles are usually picked up in the late afternoon. Kiara is still sneezing, and I am still keeping an eye on her. Again, the night was quiet, and, while she has her sneezing bouts, they are short, and not too frequent. Heaven knows I have my own, this time of year!

    Good Morning Ed
Busy already this morning??? Where did they hide Valerie? I'm getting tired of getting up so early! LOL!

Not much on the agenda today, some..hopefully a lot of work on the front room. And of course the trip to the gym. I should go to Costco, but already I'm pretty sure that will wait until Friday.

I do have some kp to clear the kitchen. Soaking a few things before I run the dishwasher.

Chilly this morning! And that's probably a good thing.

Braves had a little problem yesterday. I'd had the tv on from around 4p. and the change in the news room was 'interesting' . We do set some rather weird records in this town.

Hope your day goes well. Have you decided what to do about the sugar glider? I'm betting ya'll buy another one!

New OS out for my Mac..not planning to install it for awhile. I ran a program yesterday to see what was still 32 bit and a couple of obvious ones I knew about, but about 15 or so things I have no idea what they are, or may effect. So, sent my list to Ted for his opinion. Am in no hurry.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Still enjoying cooler days here in the northeast burbs of Atlanta. I enjoy some bits of summer, but not the heat! Kiara didn't eat quite as much as usual yesterday but otherwise seems fine. Haven't heard any sneezes yet today, so maybe it is just a cold and maybe she's getting over it. Still monitoring that. Clyde has been pretty active, and has been re-arranging the little blankets cut from baby blanket type flannel, dragging more of them into his little nest. I saw him last night quite a bit, and carefully interacted with him, and he was ready and waiting at food time, and I heard him moving around in his cage early this morning. He still seems to be OK.

Not a lot on the agenda today, other than, hopefully, a nap.

    PHONY ERROR SCAM WARNING!

If you get a browser screen that looks like the picture, do NOT click on anything in that tab (or window) and do NOT call any phone numbers displayed for supposed help, but CLOSE it instead.

If you click an anything in the warning, or call and follow the instructions they give you, you will likely infect your system with malware, or actually allow the scammers to get your personal data.

A big hint (often seen in such scams) is that it claims to be a GOOGLE critical error, but then below suggests to contact MICROSOFT support.

If you find it can't be closed by the browser's close tab/window operation, you may need to use the task manager to close the browser entirely, but do NOT allow the browser to then re-open the tabs that were previously open and it's best to not return to the site that popped up the phony error message.
