Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! I need to get to the vet for more disposable syringes with needles, as I used the last one for Lilo's shot this morning. While there, I need to empty the container I have been putting all the used needles in, as it's nearly full. They can dump them all into their Sharps container for proper disposal and I can start refilling it next Tuesday. Lilo is in my lap now.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! We are going to see a movie tonight, as a pre-release showing. I do hope to get a nap in at some point.

Hi Ed! I think I may have been MIA? yesterday? I don't see a post, but then your post with the pix of Dinah keeping you safe is the first post on my machine...so maybe I posted on the prior page...as if that's important!

Got a different flea spray stuff for Tom E. Highly recommended by Pet Smart Peeps...it took both Ted and I to hold him and spray him! It was a fight. But, happy to say he didn't attempt to bite us! (he has in past years been quite a biter. Even as a young kitten. Eventually in the last year or so, his biting morphed into holding my finger, etc in his mouth, and looking at me...Like I 'could' do this ya know!!!
He is curled up in his new furry bed sleeping. Glad he's decided to use it. I must remember to offer to pay Ted for it. Maya wouldn't use it... but if I know Ted, he paid big bucks for it. Like I said 'offer'.....

I WILL to to the gym today, rain or not. I am only 3 miles from completing this months challenge (Apple Watch), and figure after already going 88 miles, I can make the other 3.1 to complete it. OR, I could do less and then I'd need to go to the gym today and tomorrow!! Nope! Git 'er done....right?

I just realized the post I read from you, was yesterday's post! Maybe I should just chill and drink my coffee before I go any farther............
Wednesday....October 30, so say the calendar.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Happy Halloween! Temperatures are rapidly dropping today from a high of 71 (now) to a low of 27 or so early tomorrow morning! As soon as I finish my tea, and feed the cats, I will be working on making some space in the garage to bring in plants, and then on the actual bringing in of said plants.

Yesterday, I posted the video celebrating Grandpa's life and final journey. There is another YouTube channel that is somewhat similar to Grandpa Kitchen, called Village Food Factory. It may even be an older channel, and may have inspired Grandpa Kitchen. I understand that the creators of Village Food Factory do, in fact, make a living off their channel, but also seem to do a lot of charitable work with the excess. I don't know if Grandpa Kitchen and his family made anything for themselves, other than sharing in the meals themselves, but would certainly not hold it against them if they did. I think producing the videos is probably nearly a full time job in itself, not to mention shopping for the birthday and Christmas gifts, and school supplies, and organizing all that stuff for the orphans.

So...here are some videos from Village Food Factory. I do hope that, after a brief period of mourning, we will continue to see new Grandpa Kitchen videos.

    Good Morning Ed
I did not see the video of Grandpa Kitchens until this morning. So sad. He will surely be missed, and as time goes on will be a legend in story telling. I know that those children will remember him, and tell their children stories about Grandpa K to their kids.

Sometime today, Ted and I are going battle again with the flea problem. We have ordered a borax product that Ted says he and Jack used at their house. Sounds like a lot of work, but if it does what Ted says it will do...it will be worth it.
Tom E. continues to use his repurposed dog bed. (Thanks Maya!)..I think I may have helped...I put his catnip sock in the bed. :)

Can't believe we're going from 71 degrees to Freeze in the next 24 hours. Was the pix of a snowman eating a kid something I stole from Mike's pix? one of your posts? or some other source...like fb? If you haven't seen it, I'll email it to you....is funny! and would make kids think twice before coming into your yard....LOL!!
Well, maybe I'll just drop the pix with this post...would be easier.

Ok, I need to get going towards today's project. Lotza furniture to move, Ted's going to do the hard work, of sweeping the borax into the carpet....I'm going to wear a mask...I have one for Ted...we'll see if he uses it.

    Later...

I am feeling every one of my 60 years tonight. With the sudden COLD front coming through, I spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon getting the garage ready for plants and then we spent the rest of the afternoon actually getting the plants into the garage.

I feel good about getting it done but not so happy about having to get it done so quickly. I am icing my back now, for the second time today, and may not be able to move tomorrow, but it's DONE.

We were ready, but not one person came to call.

Fortunately, these are very small candy bars. One or two of the Snicker bars would be just right for a bout of low blood sugar, or when wanting a sweet, but just a bite.

Howdy all y'all. It's frigid Friday! 34 out there now, with a high of only 57 expected. The heater is running now, as it finally got cold enough in the house for it to kick on. Other than being cold, it sounds like a nice day. I may get out to install a small willow tree, in memory of Bonnie. With all the rain we had, the soil should be easy to dig. We'll see if it's dry enough for that later in the day. And whether I feel limber enough to do it!

    Hey Ed!
Sorry I'm so late today. Busy around here...but making progress.
I want to watch the video about the kids...assuming maybe a tribute to Grandpa? or maybe a very early video of him and the kids?

Leaves are falling from my big maple tree. Pretty gold, and red, and orange. Ted raked and blew them today. Tree still 95% full. (he'll get over this..right now its pretty 'novel' for him!)

Had two trick or treaters last night. Sad. But weather being as it was, not surprising. But it was disappointing.

That's about it for now....watching a hockey game with Ted tonite. This is the first period time out...second period starts shortly...I need to get a glass of water...

    Later...

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! 36 now with an expected high of 58 and no chance of precipitation. I may get out for a few things today.

I got out for groceries and mulch, and we finally laid poor little Bonnie to rest, planting a black willow seedling to mark the spot. I am sure Clyde would much rather he still had Bonnie as a companion, rather than Remus as they are not yet really friendly, but are at least somewhat tolerating the existence of the other.

    Hey Ed!
I've started this several times....never got even the first thing typed before I'd be interrupted.! There are days like this!
I did make it to the gym, and Publix...and got my laundry done..and folded, and put away! So, my dear friend Laundry will have to wait for me another day! LOL.
I've been looking at, so far not watched Grandpa video's...ok, I did watch one from several days ago...he was cooking chicken hearts! I don't know how his turned out, but Mom used to cook the liver, gizzard, and heart along with the rest of the chicken...fried, of course. Those pieces never made it to the kitchen table....I ate them hot from the skillet! My one thought, Grandpa looked old, even before he really was, I think.
Hope your trip out today was pleasant. I did laundry first, and even napped...waited for the 'high temp' of the day before I went out!!! :)

I bought the winning lottery ticket for tonite.... :) just so you know, OK?

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Pretty cold out there now and only expecting to see 59 today, with no chance of precipitation. There is something I was thinking I needed to add to the shopping list, but darned if I can think what it is/was! I thought of it while making breakfast so maybe I will remember if I run through all my breakfast activity in my head.

I successfully "fell back" on the time and feel pretty decent. I did stay up extra late last night and did not get any nap yesterday, so was able to successfully sleep until about quarter past seven this morning. I have been feeding the cats "late" for about a week to get them pre-adjusted to the time change, but I think they will still need another week or so to really get used to it.

If I ever remember what I needed to add to the list, I might even remember next time to add it to the list. I have my phone nearby most of the time so there really is no excuse (other than being 60 years old?) to not put things in right away.

I have no earthly idea what this tuber is that they call the "veg goat leg" though I did find the name at least via an internet search. It is called aatukaal kizlangu. Maybe we can find it at the Farmers' Market? Here, before the video, I also found a recipe for soup, completely vegetarian. Might be fun to try.

Aatukaal kizlangu/ Goat Leg Tuber Soup( Herbal Soup)

It's 100% vegetarian soup. Made of Aatukaal kizlangu( is in dark brown color and hairy looks very much like lamb leg) is fiery and soothing all at once. Really makes wonder!the aches and pains vanished . I came to know this kizlangu is found in the mountain rocks at hills like Kodaikanal, Ooty, Kollimalai and Yercaud.

I tasted it during my recent trip to yercaud at a hill top from a petty shop . Sip of this hot soup in that place was really a wow movement. After tasting it I felt very soothing and gulped 2-3 glasses quietly. Finally got the recipie from that old lady Palani Ammal, selling fruits and this Aatukaal kizlangu soup.

I really want to thank her in loads for this wonderful recipie. I love u old lady for helping me to add 1 more authentic recepie to my page.

    Ingredients:

Aatu Kaal kizlangu- 1/ 4 piece
    Oil- 1 tsp
    Shallots - 10 (Peeled)
Tomato - 1 small one (chopped into bigger pieces or chunks)
    Garlic pods - 10 (Peeled)
    Coriander leaves - Few
    Curry leaves- Few
    Peppercorns - 1/2 tablespoon
    Cumin seeds - 1/2 tablespoon
    Red chillies- 4
    Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
    Pepper powder - As required
    Salt - As per taste
    Water - 4 cups

    Preparation Method:

Remove the skin and chop the kizlangu, it's that much easy to do.

Grind all the above ingredients (except turmeric powder, tomato & kilangu).

Heat a saucepan add 1 tsp oil and add the ground paste into it and Stir fry 2-3 min.

After that add tomatoe, turmeric and kilangu and fry 2 more minutes and pour required amount of water and salt, garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves to it and close with lid.

Cook on low flame upto 30 minutes and remove from flame.

Add salt and pepper as per taste. Garnish with coriander leaves if you wish.

Serve & enjoy the hot and spicy herbal soup.

    Good weird morning Ed!
I hate time changing. I'd vote for either standard or daylight time...just as long as it was permanent!

You're only 60...wait til you're 76.5 and counting!!! LOL! Write it down or walk the isles of the grocery (which can become expensive), I keep lists for Costco, Publix and Kroger. I start a new one for Aldi or Walmart if I need to go there. I do keep a pretty expansive pantry so mostly its a matter of what do I have fresh, or maybe frozen.

Today at 3:15 is the last LaCross game for Nate this season! It will be the warmest part of the day, (which by my standards is not that darned warm!! ) I go to his home games mostly to visit with Jack and Jenn, and give the little guy a hug and tell him he played a great game. How do I know it was a great game? I lived thru it, and can then go home! Really do not care for the game one whit!! (and the little guy...is soon to be 14 or 15, so not so little anymore!)

Loved the photo's of you new botanical garden! LOL...I've seen that at my house some years. I did not bring anything in yet...I may remember to clip some basil to freeze part of them, and root a few starts in the window with the orchids. OR...mother nature may get them.

Tell J I said nice bike!!! Impressive! I don't drive or ride anymore. 5 years making night time runs to the ER when I worked in the lab cured me of motorcycles. I didn't forbid my teenagers of much, but I did strongly mention not to ever let me know if they'd been on a bike! LOL!!

OK time marches on, and I have a thing or two to do yet this morning. Hope you have a good day, and thanks for the 'veg goat leg pix and recipe'. I'll run right out to get one!! LOL!!! UGLY THING! YIKES. Who would have ever thought to eat it????

It's not just a picture. It's a video of "Daddy" cooking a bunch of that "veg goat leg" into a soup. I haven't done a compare to see if it's the same recipe.
