@taxmom9093 I'm so sorry for your loss..long walks or bouts of outside time in general helped me immensely when i lost my dad last year. Hugs to you!

Well I have been added to the Giro d'Italia challenge. So it looks like maybe 3 group rides a week, plus what I usually do in between. Sounds like fun!!!! Oh and thanks Dave for correcting my numbers. I didn't want to be credited with more miles than I actually did :D:D:D

    05/01 - 14.0 miles cycling
    05/02 - 2.0 miles walking
    05/03 - 14.0 miles cycling

    Total: 30.0 miles

Thanks to everyone that encouraged me through my training for my first half marathon. I had a great time today and improved my time at each check point. I soared through my last mile. The crowds were so fantastic and running with 40,000 others made it go fast. It was so much better than my 10 miler in November. I said this would be my first and last half but I had such a good time that I may train for another.

    May 3: 15.5 miles - Running 13.1 miles and walking 2.4 miles
    TTD: 26.1 miles

@taxmom9093: I am so sorry about your dad. I will keep you and your family in prayer as you go through this difficult time. Losing our parents is always a difficult time. I pray that you will find some peace in your loving memories of him.

Janet and Dean...I'm pretty sure the two of you will catch up with me in no time at all!

Today was pretty terrific! Walked with the boys, had lunch with a friend, got all my exercising done and ate wisely!!
Tomorrow our DD defends her dissertation. She will graduate on the 24th. So proud!

    Sun - 7.12 miles

So today was my Dad's funeral. I know it sounds odd to say that at 89 (90 if he had lived til May 31) it was sudden, but Monday morning we knew we had 4-6 more months before his heart was done and Tuesday morning we were planning a funeral. I see a lot of long walks coming up while I try to sort this all out.
I'm so sorry for your loss!! :( That really must have been incredibly difficult. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I'm still not on the board yet this month myself due to a severe and persistent head cold, but hope to get moving soon!!!

Thank you everyone. I'm at the point of taking everything one day at a time. I know fresh air and moving will help me remember him well and work through the shock.

Added 3.5 miles yesterday. May total 6.5 miles.

Today is a free day for me and it is beautiful outside. Off to the nature center.
