I started my C5k today, not so good but I'm OK with my attempt. I walked more than I ran it will take me some time.
Did my dance video 3 miles
Walked for 30 mins and ran 3x only for a minute each. 60 sec never seemed so long. Lol

Brenda, this morning as I was reading all of the posts that I have missed since the last time I posted here earlier in the month I read of your emergency abdominal surgery and the awesome compliment from your "cute surgeon" about your incredible abs thanks to Leslie walks o:) . What an amazing NSV!!!
Your recovery sounds like it is coming along splendidly thanks to your walking and exercising that you had been doing, and are doing again. I am so proud of you!!

I want you to know that while reading your posts after surgery you have encouraged me specifically to take care of myself again, and to get back to and to stay on track again, no matter how busy I am with my brother. It must become a priority again for me to use exercise and diet to combat the stress that I have been experiencing since January when my brother was injured.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and complete return to feeling strong and healthy again.

Blessings and hugs to you <3

    :flowerforyou:

Oh Mary-with all you are going through, I am so glad that I could do at least this little bit to help you. Being a caregiver is so stressful and draining that you need to restore a little each day. As strange as it sounds to most people, working in your garden for 15 minutes, or going for a peaceful walk alone for 15 minutes can make all the difference, even though it seems like it will use up your last bit of strength. The best advice I ever got when I was a care giver for my mother-in-law during her final illness was from her nurse and she said, "You cannot take good care of her unless you take good care of you first!" Since I was raised to take care of others, that was a bit of a shock for me to hear! So, Mary, think of taking care of you as also taking care of your brother and it will be easier to make your health a priority. We are always here when you need a boost! Hugs!
    Brenda

That's great. That's a lot of walking, no wonder you are exhausted and hungry.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and words of truth Brenda and lreutner.

I have known the power of 15 minutes in the past but have forgotten it of late. My timer I used to use exactly for that purpose has been silent. Now would be a good idea to give it new batteries because taking care of myself isn't limited to just managing to fit in a Leslie DVD into my day.

I've been missing working in my garden the most.

    Thank you :flowerforyou:

Oh, by the way, today I went to my grandson's 10th birthday gathering of family to celebrate with him. I ate a delicious piece of homemade cake and had a lovely time!! And I took a much needed break from exercise today ;) .
