MFP app malfunction - check your stuff!

I've been feeling blah for a couple days and some friends help me discover that what I'm seeing in my diary on my phone is different from what they see. In fact, the difference was huge. I entered all my information correctly, but the app showed that I ate 1560 calories in one meal yesterday that really didn't seem like I was eating that much. I didn't eat the rest of the day because I was already over my calories and today was the same story. Now I'm happily sipping coffee because I deleted the app and reinstalled. Now that things are showing correctly, I have 576 calories left instead of 32. I don't know what's going on with the app, but if you use the app it wouldn't hurt to check the totals in the app with what you find on your browser. Just a heads up for anyone interested.

I've also had the app revert to SAD macros and 1200 calories, it hasn't/won't update based on my fiddled with percentages on the web. It also radically mis-adds the calories. For me, the cals on the individual foods and even meals in the app are correct, but it suddenly pulls something like 300 extra out of thin air when calculating the total.

That's what it did to me. Everything was correct with the entries but it was nearly doubling the amount of calories. It posted my 400 calorie sausage as 900. -.-

It's been doing this since year dot. I've had it reset my macros, change things from 1g measurement to 100g or 1cup measurement (there's a big difference between 14g of butter and 14 cups of butter). I've also gone into recipes and added everything, saved it and it's shown 5 serves at 580 cals each, but when I've put 1 serve in my diary it's said it only has 287 cals. I'm super careful of everything I put in.

I just reinstalld the app, it found all my lost recipes and all my prior entries that I've lost after I changed my user name :)

That's a pretty good sign something is wrong. It told me Saturday night that if every day were like today I'd weigh like 10 pounds less. However, it was showing I was over my calorie goal by at least 300. Normally, if I eat under my goal it tells me I'll weigh about 3-5 pounds less, not 10. Definitely check your totals because that's the same thing happened to me.

I put in 101.3 one day and 101.4 the next (weigh ins) and it posted on my wall that I'd lost "0.0kg Well Done !!"

This was the day my whole streak was reset and I *know* I entered info on my app but it's now blank and I lost my streak. In some twisted way, I kinda said "to heck with it" yesterday, too, feeling discouraged when I lost my streak. At least I know it is not just me!

Come to think of it, I also entered breakfast on my phone app (Android) this morning, but it did not show up when I got on my laptop, either. Guess I need to reload.

I am up 3 lbs today and starting over again. *sigh*

MFP reported that I had fried my egg in a CUP of oil rather than the tablespoon I had logged. It took some explaining to friends who got very worried about my drinking oil.

There is a link in the FAQ to reset your streak. You can do it no matter how far after the fact.

I also noticed the app does not update if I change my goals via browser.

It's a good thing I never use the phone app, I guess. I always found it too cumbersome, even with the scanning thing.

Realized it was actually 4 lbs today, but I've shed 2 of them (all water, I am sure)...

Thanks for that, I'll go look! I was very frustrated to see that, again!

They ask no questions about your streak reset and they will reset it all the way back to when you first joined MFP, if you wanted. I've not done that. It would be cool though. I joined a few years ago as a CICO bigot. Yeah, I was one of those people. When it eventually failed, as that always does, I didn't use it for a long time. But, if I could reset back to that, it would be pretty cool

It's done it again, changed all the butter in my diary to cups instead of grams. Apparently I had 97,620 calories yesterday.

LMFAO - I was drinking water reading this, mind you!!! I remember a glitch a while back that kept showing me having 20,000 calories remaining... I guess you must have been REALLY, REALLY hungry yesterday, right? Wonder how that weight loss will be? *snickersnorts* lmfao
