Oh gosh Ellen, I'm glad you stopped taking the ashwaganda and I'm so sorry it gave you the flutters Did you try the apple cider vinegar and did it help? I forgot to take mine (ACV) yesterday and my heart was beating too strongly as I was trying to fall asleep. Not fluttering, but the 2 are related. I was sure to take my ACV today!0

I'm getting so confused....aren't these remedies supposed to be calming you down, not revving you up to the point of anxiety and distress ? I hope everybody will be safe.0

These supplements haven't caused my heart flutterings Kitn, I've had that going on since the end of February. The supplement has helped it a lot, though the ACV seems to help as well.
I'll let Ellen tell you her own story.0 -
@kitn I'm a little confused too. I had no calming effect from the ashwagandha but thought maybe the calm would come after taking it a while. I was surprised at the big increase in flutters. It could be that it's not connected to the supplement, but does seem odd. They've settled down now. I react to medicines and supplements more than most people. Chamomile makes my heart flutter, too, and most people are calmed by it. Go figure. I've spent too much money on supplements that I can't take; I think I'm done with them.0

I'm so sorry you're struggling Ellen. The supplements really don't seem to be working for you, yet are for others. More proof we're not a one size fits all. I've been taking valerian for a week now & not noticing anything different (moods/sleep), but no adverse effects either.0

Well, it's Friday at last and I measured my tummy and waist. Tummy is down 3cm (.08"). Waist is up .5cm (barely measurable in inches).
I wasn't measuring my waist in the early days, but the belly/tummy measurement is accurate so I'm thrilled to finally see some action in that direction. It's the belly protrusion than bothers me most of all so I don't care about my waist.
That has been on taking one tablet a day - the dosage is really two, so do I double up the dose or stick to what I'm on. It's herbal, it's not doing me any harm, but I've never enjoyed taking anything that feels medicinal. I'll probably stick with the one long-term, but maybe I'll try 2 a day for the next week just to see what that produces.0 -
May...I thought an inch was 2.5cm? 3cm would be 1.18!! More than you put!! Sooo happy for you to see it moving at last! Is this your combo?? Looks good.
Ellen..m you said you had your cortisol tested before and it was all over the place but your Dr did nothing!! Maybe finding something in the a data price range would help more than anything 'sedative'?? I keep reading that the chronically high cortisol levels cause heart flutters! I have been having them again mildly the last week ...no idea why! I can't help thinking if you can get help with the cortisol that so much would sort out for you. Did you try the Rhodiola? So wish we could find the 'switch' for you.0 -

I agree about Ellen's cortisol. It's weird that the doctor did nothing. Or maybe he/she doesn't realise the importance of cortisol?

I don't think she had a clue about what to do. My current doctor says there's no problem with my cortisol. I talked to her about it last month. My guess is that she doesn't know what to do about it either. She's of the eat less exercise more mentality and nothing beyond that affects weight loss.
I haven't tried the Rhodiola. Right now I'm kind of weary of trying more supplements that probably won't be effective.0
