I've been going through a lot of steaks and was wondering if you all had some really nice LC recipes for marinades and steaks. I'm often splitting large steaks with my spouse, so it needs to be something that a "normal eater" would appreciate too.

Suggestions would be very welcome.

I rub them down with a good season salt (Montreal steak seasoning salt or Famous Dave's or Cajun or Lawry's) then I put some zero-carb Heinz Worcestershire sauce. I only "sprinkle" it on, (as to not wash the salt off). I usually put in a covered bowl and let it marinate overnight. I grill it on my BBQ grill.

Yeah, its not a fancy "from-scratch" recipe, but it is easy and very tasty.... :)

    I hope this helps,

Well, my general philosophy regarding steaks is the better the steak, the less you help it. For really good steaks, I would simply rub them with pepper and oil; maybe with some minced garlic. But the following is a marinade I've used several times - and can be used with steak and chicken.

    2 fl oz Olive oil
1/2 oz minced habaneros (use gloves - these guys are nasty if you handle them directly)
    1 tsp chopped thyme
    1 tsp minced garlic
    2 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Mix it all up and marinade the steak. It adds a nice bite to the steak; but isn't overpowering. For LC, I'd make a nice savory butter to serve with the steak.

    Smack Yo Momma

Cajun style rub that Public carries. Not overly Cajun like seafood

    A little dash is good

Favorite rub- salt, pepper, and garlic flakes.

Favorite marinade- oil and vinegar (a nice balsamic vinegar or a good red wine vinegar). I go for simple things!

A bit of wasabi powder to either one adds a bit of kick.

I've been playing around with coconut oil and coconut aminos (a soy-free soy sauce substitute) for a steak sauce, but haven't hit on a spice combo worth sharing the recipe yet.

I thought I knew of a hot sauce like that; but I was mistaken. Here is the picture of the product I was thinking about:

My store brand has a steak & chop marinade 0 carb 0 sugar that we use. It's great on chicken too. Normally if I am doing the steak in the oven under the broiler I just put on olive oil and salt, but when we grill outside we like to add more flavor.

LMAO! I haven't seen that brand before, and I'm pretty sure I'd remember that! :D

I tend to BBQ a lot... I think it's a Canadian thing because summer is too short. ;) I have a couple of store bought sauces but homemade is my favourite.
