So I had an utterly random thought today that I wanted to share. Some of you may have already seen it on my wall, but here for the group!

Today's Odd Thought: So we all know how important and powerful word choice is, right? I just realized I'd started thinking of "stalls" and "plateaus" as "unplanned maintenance," instead!

Yup, I figure if I'm stalling, it's because my body is working to fix something.

Hmmm...very interesting thought from @knitOrMiss "I'd started thinking of "stalls" and "plateaus" as "unplanned maintenance," instead!" What about just giving it (your body and/or your mind) a rest while your body adjusts to the new weight? How else can I explain the slow pace?

I've tried discussing this with other LC'ers… we really aren't "stalled"…we are just 'mentally" along for the ride as our body DOES what it needs to do.

We are so used to "instant gratification" total control of our life, food choices, everything. Make a phone call get any product shipped, change houses, cars, cobs, clothes, so we EXPECT our body to follow suit. It will not.

It doesn't occur that we are amazing COMPLEX…after all if one person can lose 50 pounds in 18 weeks eating 2 cupcakes a day, while another takes a year to lose 12 pounds…and yet another drops 75 in the 6 months time it took me to lose 25…we are all so DIFFERENT..how can we expect our bodies 'Know" the rules of losing 1 lb a week? it DOESN'T…

I'm starting to feel a duality..Ms. Jeckle/Hyde..I know what I want my body to do based on what my efforts are..but it seems to do what it needs to do in spite of all my "intelligent design of diet"

Now I am looking at ONLY a ONE year goal..I am happy with my current loss..if I slow despite efforts, so be it..I am aiming for Dec 31…. we are always impressed when someone says .." a year ago I was 90 pounds heavier… so it took a whole year to achieve that, with ups and downs along the way...

Oh goodness, @KETOGENICGURL . This is so ME!

I've also varied up a quote presented here by someone else, "Your body is doing chemistry, physics, and calculus while you are busy doing arithmetic!"

I figure I'm going to keep on trucking on this healthier past, and my body will either catch up eventually or it will give me the signs to try something else...

I have believed for many, many years that your choice of words affects your mindset.

I also never use terms "cheat day" or "guilty pleasure". I refuse to feel guilty about pleasure (as long as it's not hurting someone else against their will to gain that pleasure) and the word cheat induces feelings of guilt. I can do without those in my life.

I pay attention to my thoughts and the words I choose to say or write. It's so easy to instantly respond via email, twitter, forums etc and once you put those words out there, you can't take them back. Stop, calm down, think, walk away if you have to and then act. ;)

I still say that in the grand scheme of things, the guilt I allow myself to feel is more damaging to my health than any bundle of calories I stuff in my face.
