How do newbies join this group?

I see the group is still being segregated from the general population. Is that a permanent change?
There's something about "admin approval" in the "upgraded expectations" post, but there doesn't seem to be a "join" button any more. No "invite" either. Am I missing something? How do newbies join this group? Do we have to instruct them to send a message to one of the admins of the group?

The join button is still there in some form (I'm not totally sure what form it takes) and people are able to join. They just have to wait for admin approval, which usually happens pretty quickly. It's generally best to leave a note in that process (there's a field for it when applying to join), and as long as it's reasonable and doesn't seem trollish, it's usually approved. We actually get quite a few, and even with three of us, there are often as many as half a dozen new applicants each time I check in.
The segregation is only temporary, but is in effect until, I think, September, pending another review by the MFP staff.0 -
I went to this link in another browser (without being logged in):
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group
It says "Join this group to view its content." But there's no join button. Maybe an IE thing?
Also, the group doesn't show up when you search for it in the group search.0 -
Bummer cause it's a great group! Why on earth are we even under review?!?!0

People seem to be finding it, because I approve a lot of people every day. I saw the same lack of button, potentially because I was logged out. I think you'll see the button if you're logged in, but you are not a member.0

Your group is viewable to all. I didn't know that your group had originally been part of the main message boards, but when I searched low carb, your group appeared.
Maybe, it recognizes you as a user and that is why you can't see the join button.0 -
Yes, I am new and all I did was search "low carb" because l knew I wanted a low carb forum to read.0
