coopscoopc Welcome to the Walk at Home group! The 5 Day Walk Plan is a great start and my husband LOVES that one! The beauty of it is that if you are not ready to move on, do the same day a couple of times! It's all good! If we can cheer you on in anyway, just say the word!!
JLO1985SC Welcome to the Walk at Home group! Leslie's walks are a great addition to weight training and most of us who have been here for awhile do both for total fitness. Also, Welcome to MFP! It is a wonderful place to find support and like minded people to help with whatever your diet/nutrition/ weight-gaining or losing/health/fitness etc goals are! Sometimes, it just takes a little while to figure out what to listen to and what to ignore. But in this group-we are just supportive of each other so enjoy walking!

We set a much higher goal than we assumed we could make to encourage us to walk more than we would have with a lesser goal! I am going with this whole carrot in front of the rabbit idea and I think you should join me! :laugh:

Week 1 - 21.4 miles (1/15)
Week 2 - 25.4 miles
Week 3 - 25.7 miles
Total 72.5 miles and 3 days over 10,000 steps
Sept 22 - 2.4 miles
I will have to step it up - literally..... oh ya ...chase the carrot....ha ha ....digging the carrots in the garden this week.0 -
Hey Everyone!
I have been doing well on my Leslie Sansone Dvd's.. I have even dragged my buns out of bed in the morning to get them done before the work day and I do not want to lose my momentum now! I stayed to my calories and got another work out in yesterday.. and I was up and back at it at 5:00 a.m . today! I know I seriously need to get some strength in, but working on my flexibility, trunk flexions, and walking has brought me some much needed positive results.
Mon: 3 mile walk/abs
Tues: 4 mile walk/arms + another 2.1 miles at lunch
Wed: 1 mile walk/legs
I can't believe I have walked 7 miles this week! Not too long ago I couldn't walk for 15 minutes without severe L5/S1 pain!

coopscoopcOh my gosh! If you are getting up at 5 AM to walk you are stronger then me already!!! :laugh: When I started, I worked harder on sticking to my calorie goal and then walking and finally walking "Leslie's way" to burn them! Once I had all of that under control, I started working on strength training. Try not to do it all at once or you will burn out. We like to keep our walkers!

Bravo! I get up early and get my walks in too. I also have a bad back and walking with Leslie and outdoors helps my keep moving and manage my pain. When I started I could not do 15 minutes either. Walk strong!!0 -

And sure the back recovered, I had a massage yesterday to put everything back in place and did I rest enough - NOOOOoooooo!!!

Today I am going to go for a two mile walk. I have been doing one mile because I am just getting back into exercising and I have fibromyalgia. But today I feel strong!0

Hey everyone! Just checking in to see how things are going! I was a little miffed with my last weigh in... I have really been making time for my Leslie Sansone dvd's and I ended up losing 1 pound. *sigh* Being a shorty sometimes makes me a little fussy. A 2 pound loss feels like is always going to be out of my reach. Oh well. A loss is a loss is a loss.
Does anyone know how to consistently get up at 5:30 a.m. and not be so tired all the time? I literally just fell out Friday night at 9:30. I am a total night owl, but am trying to become an early bird... any tricks or advice? lol I seriously flipped off my alarm this morning and told myself... sleep in until 6:15 *facepalm*
I am getting my stepping in! I love that I can feel like I accomplish something when I finish my dvd workout. Tonight I do strength. NSV: I went home and worked out before I did anything else! I made myself the priority over making dinner a priority. 35 minutes is not going to kill them.
I think I am logging this wrong... is there a special way I should be logging my miles with the group?

I am getting my stepping in! I love that I can feel like I accomplish something when I finish my dvd workout. Tonight I do strength. NSV: I went home and worked out before I did anything else! I made myself the priority over making dinner a priority. 35 minutes is not going to kill them.
I think I am logging this wrong... is there a special way I should be logging my miles with the group?

Congrats on your loss thus far! I am also a shorty and ever pound shows. I am a morning person and most of my walks are done by 7 am. I get up at 4:30 am, drink a cup or two of coffee and out the door if the weather permits. I walk on average 6 miles at the park. This morning it was pouring rain so I did 2 different Leslie walks. I also golf and pull my clubs on average walking 5.5 miles. Early morning is MY time. I need the solitude and the quiet time before my grandson is dropped off for the day. I love to wake up and walk.
Good for you making yourself a priority. I can not stress enough how important it is to put ourselves and our health first. This took me a while to adjust to and I have no plans on putting myself on the back burner for others again. I am at my best when I take care of myself.
You can log your miles any way you choose. There is no right or wrong way.
