Sadly only a short one this weekend as I only had an hour to spare. I am up in Cumbria visiting family and would have loved to spend the day exploring the lanes on the bike - I did manage my first QOM though!
If you squint at the photo in the Strava activity you can just about make out a lamb. Every time I got my phone out to take a photo they ran to the other side of the field0 -

Legs started out dead and really didn't improve but considering how nice the weather was it was ok so I continued on. Bright blue skies, light breezes and abundant sunshine, Spring in AZ is pretty nice all things considered.

The signs of spring picy:
My ride was too early, soon as I got home the sun came out and it was more like Summer then the first day of Spring, went to the pub and had a pie .... not very Italian but it was georgeous!

Would have been longer, but I had a visitation from the P******* fairy around km30. At which point I discovered that my glue had dried in the tube, the "non-glue" emergency stickers weren't sticky anymore, and I had no alternative but to use the one spare inner-tube I was carrying - at which point the prospect of continuing further away from home and ending up with a 40+km walk or ride with a flat tyre held little attraction - especially as I'd also forgotten my cycling wallet and had no cash/cards on me either! So, I basically took the most direct route home I could from that point (other than re-tracing my prior route - which would have been a complete PITA)
Anyhow, I can't really grumble - the weather was great, I felt like I was actually firing on at least 6 of 8 cylinders, and even the puncture happened right outside the village hall in Pollington, a lovely little village, with a big bench outside the Village Hall that I could sit on and mend my puncture, and chat to the local village "character" - must have been 120 if he was a day old, not a tooth in his head, flat cap seemingly nailed in place - he was fascinated by the bike, the wierd narrow tyres, and when I inflated the tyre with a CO2 cartridge I thought his eyes would pop out!
As I say, I Rode back the direct (but still quite scenic) way, and managed to stop for a quick "springtime" proof shot...
(my phone is a pile of shite and I can't get it to take photos and upload to instagram while out on the road for some season - it just crashes - so this one's from the trusty "travel camera" - my Canon G11 compact - geotagging c/o lightroom.)
No "in ride" refreshments I'm afraid - as I say, I forgot my bloody wallet...

All I saw for flowers today was some dandelions tucked away in a warm corner out of the snow. Since I don't consider those spring, you'll just have to settle for green grass under the melting snow. That's a Rocky Mountain style spring shot anyways. My hubby was riding with me and turned back much earlier than I wanted too ride so it is very short.0 -

Well, I'll get things started with my short ride. It was a cold, cloudy, blustery day here with 10 to 13 MPH winds out of the north west. The temperature was 50F. This is the type of day where I would normally not ride, but tomorrow promised to be much worse. I began my ride with two layers on, but it became quickly evident that I was going to get cold with the cutting wind. Fortunately, I had brought along my rain coat, which has the ability to cut the winds to nothing. My first stop was at the Richards Brick company, where they had a nice big blooming Dogwood tree out front. I paused, put on my rain coat, and took a few photos of the beautiful pink, dark red and white Dogwood blooms. Next, I rode on the trail on my normal ride, looking for some Daffodil blooms. I finally located some Daffodil's near the trail by the NO Nelson School building. I paused for some quick photos. Next, I rode on into downtown Edwardsville, where I met my favorite wife at Sacred Grounds where I enjoyed a hot cup of tea (plum and cinnamon) as I don't drink coffee. Photos are provided by my lovely wife. Afterwards, we walked next door to the Madison County Courthouse where we got closer up photos of the Dogwoods and a tree that I could not identify. After that, I flew back down the hill and then back up the trail to my car. All in all, I'm glad I rode.
It looks like the Strava link above geocoded my photos for location. Additional details for the ride can be found at http://cyclemeter.com/6a08acd34d9daf7a/Cycle-20160319-1346

Beautiful autumn day for a long ride. Very little breeze which would later turn in a windy easterly. It was an early start with the sun just having risen. Short 8km down to the beach which was a it of a struggle with the breathing. This cleared up as soon as I warmed the engine a little more and got going.
First stretch of the ride was next to the ocean and as alway it was a pleasure it was then inland for a bit with the majority of the ride along the south bank of the Swan river. I extended the loop to the second bridge crossing and then ran the length down to just past the WACA (those cricket fans will be in the know). Crossed over onto the north bank and rode back in with an extension. It was then back home with a easy loop around Herdsman parade. Over all a very satisfying ride.

Well done to everyone who rode0 -
We're on a bit of a roll at the moment, so I'm going to add the "blurb" for the next two races on the calendar in one go...
Dwars door Vlaanderen - Wednesday Mar 23
Dwars door Vlaanderen (English: Across Flanders) is a Flanders Classics road bicycle race, which as from 2013 will count as a 1.HC event on the UCI Europe Tour. Traditionally, it is the start of the Flemish cycling week, with Gent–Wevelgem (before 2010 the Brabantse Pijl instead of Gent–Wevelgem), the Three Days of De Panne and the Tour of Flanders. Dwars door Vlaanderen has always been contested on a Wednesday, a week and a half before the Tour of Flanders. The finish is always in Waregem. The race was first run in 1945 and the race has been every year since, with the exception of 1971. The race was previously named Dwars door België (English: Across Belgium). In the years 1945–1946 and 1948–1964, the race was run as a stage-race over two days; in 1947 and since 1965, it has been held as a one-day race.
Website - http://www.ddvl.eu/en
E3 Harelbeke, previously known as Harelbeke–Antwerp–Harelbeke and E3-Prijs Harelbeke, is an annual road cycling race in Flanders, Belgium. The race starts and finishes in Harelbeke, covering 203 kilometres, mainly in the Flemish Ardennes.
First raced in 1958, it is one of the more recently founded one-day classics, but has developed into a highly prestigious and desirable event. It is on the UCI World Tour calendar, as the competition's first cobbled classic of the season.
Belgian Tom Boonen holds the record of victories with five wins, trailing cycling icon Rik Van Looy who won four times.
E3 Harelbeke is held on the last Friday of March and marks the start of the Flemish Cycling Week, opening up a fortnight of WorldTour racing on the cobbles and bergs of Flanders. It is the second in the series of cobbled races in Belgium and northern France that take place over a two-week period from the Wednesday after Milan–San Remo until Paris–Roubaix. E3 Harelbeke is the race that resembles the Tour of Flanders the most.
In 2010, UCI made some calendar changes, most notably positioning the Pro Tour race Gent–Wevelgem on the day after E3 Harelbeke, causing a dispute between the two races. In 2012, when the E3 race was upgraded to World Tour status as well, organizers changed the date of their event to Friday to meet the demands of UCI, who requested a day of rest between two arduous World Tour events.
Because of its place on the calendar, the race has built a reputation as the final rehearsal for the more prestigious Tour of Flanders, the Flemish monument race coming nine days after the E3 Harelbeke. With a distance of 200–215 km, the E3 route is shorter than the Tour of Flanders, but addresses many of the same roads and hills of the Flemish Ardennes. With cobbles, steep climbs, winding and narrow roads, and often affected by wind, it offers all race circumstances that characterize Flemish classic races. Favourites for the Tour of Flanders often do well in Harelbeke, eager to win the race and using it as the perfect testing ground. Because of the similarities, Flemish media have dubbed the race The little Tour of Flanders.

and at that point I think we can cut off for the DdV folks... Everyone has either declared a ride, stated DNR, or has a n empty Strava for the day. I'll leave the thread open, but other than for Tom who can confirm his DdV ride if he wishes, no further entries are going to count for this event - need to be a little "brisk" with the cut-offs and re-starts as there's basically an event every other day now...
