Hopefully everyone is on the mend and not sick/feeling like crap on Christmas because that would definitely suck!
2 slices of pizza would be a win in my book! I'm glad you had fun!0 -
you can gargle apple cider vinegar to get rid of a bacterial infection - if you can stand it...tastes terrible1
-
@tcunbeliever I’ll see if my mom has any of that when we get down there today. I don’t have any and I’m not going to get within 30 feet of any Walmarts if I can help it. lol0

I had to go to food lion today because I forgot crackers...it was a madhouse, I can't even imagine what a bigger place like walmart looks like today...hope you feel better!0

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! We had a wonderful Christmas and got so much stuff. I ate and ate and ate and then ate some more. lol Now that Christmas is over, I have to get back to my diet again. My husband doesn’t stay up to see the new year and we don’t travel back down to my parents’ that day, so I don’t have to worry about more holiday food. My mouth is doing amazingly better. I woke up this morning without any soreness when I swallowed. I forgot all about the apple cider vinegar but I guess I didn’t need it after all. lol I’m just glad to be able to talk and swallow with no pain.
Edit: And my sister was able to kick the flu before all the fun started on Christmas Eve!0 -
Yesterday was a LAZY day! I was so tired from all the excitement and goings on from Christmas, coupled with it being cold and cloudy, just made for a lazy day. I even dozed off once. lol I did get some housework done, though, so it wasn’t a complete waste of the day. Once my daughter goes back to school next week, I’ll be able to go to the gym again and get back into a routine.0

Hi Jennifer, it seems a lot has happened since the last time I visited your page in March. I know all about falling off of the wagon then getting back on just to fall off again. I’m happy to see that you have been having some successes and I am sure that with the holiday season being over it will get a bit easier on you. There was a post a bit back where you were pissed at the scale, like Wifire said, trust in the process. There will be times where you are doing everything right and the scale goes up and up then one day you wake up to see a huge loss.
Anyways, keep up the great work, looking forward to reading about it in 2018.

@50extra thank you! I definitely have high hopes for 2018. The holidays are almost over and time to get back on track will be in order. Thank you for the encouragement.
The last few days have been full of sweets and lounging around except for a few trips to town to play around and grocery shop. Nothing much to write about really. My meals haven’t been too bad as far as unhealthy goes, but I’ve been snacking more than usual. A lot changes will be happening soon in the new year. I don’t make resolutions since I never keep any of them. I am making a commitment, though, to eat healthier and make better choices. I’ve done it before. I went from 176 down to 151 in just a few month back in 2008 when my husband was deployed overseas. I gained “happy fat” when he got home and continued on that path, got pregnant, initially lost weight and then gained to where I am now....230. I laid out a plan for myself and it hasn’t worked out the way I planned. I can’t let that distract me. I can do it! 2018 is my year to shine!0 -

Happy New Year!!0

Well, I guess my diet is going to be held off a few more days. lol I have tonsillitis. Got put on antibiotics so I should be over this pretty soon.0
-
Hope you feel better soon!0

Thanks! I’m tired of having something.....last week was mouth sores and this week tonsillitis. I do feel better today. I actually got some light housecleaning done. I planned on sleeping most of today but I slept well last night and had the energy and lowered temperature to get some cleaning done. My daughter went back to school today which was nice for both of us. I was able to relax and she was able to get unbored. That’s probably not a word, but I’m using it anyway. lol I plan on getting started back to my exercising routine on Monday. Dinners won’t be super healthy until I go grocery shopping again but I guess it’s my last hoorah before I start really buckling down on counting calories and being more aware of what I’m eating. I won’t go hog wild this weekend but I’m also not going to worry too much about the dinners we did have planned for this past week that got replaced with fast food....cause if mama ain’t cooking, daddy’s getting take out. lol0

I'm glad you're feeling better today!0

Today is Day 1 of my 2018 fitness journey! The past few days I haven’t done too bad, but now it’s time to buckle down and do this! My plan is to go to the gym after I drop my daughter off and stay for an hour and then come home and get this house back in order.
*Step goal for today is 12000 steps (my Fitbit is set to 8,000 so that’s way over my daily goal)
*Calorie goal is to end the day with a deficit
*Water intake goal is 104 oz (26 oz water bottle)
Now let’s do this!!2 -
Does this mean you're feeling 100% better now? If so, yay! and great goals!0
-
@WifiresGettingFit yes, I am 100% better!! I feel great! Thank you for asking.
Now, about my goals..... the only one I actually reached was ending the day in a deficit. I managed to only get 9510 steps but I did the elliptical and some weight training this morning at the gym. I planned on also doing the treadmill but my friend met me up there and we did the weights instead of the treadmill. I got 94 oz of water which is really good for me since I struggle to drink more than a glass or 2 of water a day to begin with. Although I didn’t reach all my goals, I’m still very proud of myself. I’m setting the same goals for tomorrow. I may have to play around with my daily step goal since 12000 may be a little hard to reach as a daily goal. So, for tomorrow, I’ll drop it to 10000 and see if that’s more attainable. I’m keeping my food and water goals the same. Looking forward to tomorrow!0 -
@jcaldwell0331 I'm glad you're feeling 100% better! Awesome job on your day!0
-
@jcaldwell0331 Good job on getting to where you did yesterday. 9510 steps is a great amount to be moving today, especially for the first day of getting on track.
There's nothing wrong with having a goal that is hard to achieve, it makes it so much sweeter when you hit it. The flip side of that is if you have a problem mentally on the days where you don't hit it could be a bit demoralizing.
Keep up the great work!0 -
what a great start to 2018 !0
-
@WifiresGettingFit @50extra @totaldetermination Thank y’all so much for the encouragement! Main reason I dropped my step goal down to 10k was that 12k was a little too ambitious for me as a daily goal. I have reached it a few times before but it’s never been several days in a row. I figure 10k is more manageable (not easy but at least not out of reach) and I won’t get discouraged every time I don’t even come close to it.
Today I’ll be running with my daughter instead of going to the gym. Her school’s Fitness Tuesday has started back up and so I’ll be running laps with her. I deep cleaned the living room yesterday and today I deep clean the kitchen.
But first, coffee!1 -
Well, I did surprisingly well today! I didn’t hit 10k steps but I did get to 9222 which is awesome! I’m also ending today under my daily caloric goal! Still struggling getting all the water but that’s been an uphill battle for me for years. It takes a conscious effort just to drink as much as I have been lately. So, all in all, I’m proud of myself. I’m ready to sleep and then tackle tomorrow’s goals! Let’s do this!!1
-
Great work, 9222 steps, very nice!1
-
2 of my 3 goals were finally met today!!! I ended the day with a caloric deficit and hit 10,947 steps!! Still working on hitting that water goal, though. I know I can do it. I’ve done it before. It’s just been a while.1
-
Awesome job!!0
-
@WifiresGettingFit Thanks!!
Today I only hit 1 of my goals today but I knew it was going to happen. On Thursdays I go grocery shopping and eat lunch with my daughter at her school so I don’t go the gym on Thursdays. However, even not going to the gym I still got 5724 steps which is still really good. I’m excited that I stayed under my caloric goal. I’ve started drinking Spark from Advocare. A friend of mine recently started selling it so I decided to give it a go. It’s really helped with the afternoon crashes. I drink less coffee and my house has never been cleaner. lol The most wonderful part is that it doesn’t make you jittery and doesn’t make your heart race. Heck, I don’t even feel a burst of energy....I just feel more awake and a lot less tired and lazy. Well, I figured I would share what has been helping me throughout the day. I won’t be able to go to the gym tomorrow since I’ve got to drive a few towns over for some stuff for my husband. It rained some today and the roads are wet. It’s supposed to get down to 26 tonight so I hope the roads aren’t bad tomorrow.0 -
I'm very much a whatever works for you, to each their own type of person but looking at the ingredient list for Spark, it's basically most everything I have in my multivitamin at about triple the cost.
Awesome job on your steps and staying under your calorie goal!
I hope the weather isn't bad in the morning for you! We're due for a winter storm here starting tomorrow evening and into Saturday. They already have kids scheduled to leave school early. It's going to be a bad one. Stay safe!0 -
Well, I take a multivitamin as well but the spark definitely wakes me up in my afternoon slump.
Staying under my calorie goal was hit but I didn’t get to go to the gym and my steps suffered for it. I only got 5119 steps today. Water goal wasn’t hit either.0 -
You still did a great job. While it is always nice to hit your activity goals, if losing weight is your main focus then eating at your calorie allotment is the most important thing! Great work.1
-
Had a movie day with my daughter so only 1323 steps but stayed under my daily caloric goal.0
