    We made it to Weather Hills and camped last night. After packing up and making sure we got everything, we followed the path south toward Weathertop...the path was cunningly hidden and was edged with stones where the land is open. Sam starts singing...

    Gil-galad was an Elven-king.
    Of him the harpers sadly sing;
    the last whose realm was fair and free
    between the Mountains and the Sea.

    His sword was long, his lance was keen.
    His shining helm afar was seen;
    the countless stars of heaven's field
    were mirrored in his silver shield.

    But long ago he rode away,
    and where he dwelleth none can say;
    for into darkness fell his star
    in Mordor where the shadows are.

    It's mid-day we are near the south end of the path and have reached the dell at the western foot of the hill.We begin climbing.

    We climbed to the top of Weathertop and entered the ruins of the watch Tower of Amon. We were so relieved we made it to the top especially when we saw Black Riders on the road below. The Nazgul attacked at night. Again we were almost killed but managed to escape with few injuries. Frodo fought bravely during the attack but was injured the worst. He was carried on a pony as we headed south form the dell. After 10 or so miles we crossed the Great East Road and entered thickets on the south side. The land sloped south and after another nine miles we make camp.

    We packed up in the morning and followed a wide shallow curving valley for another 19 miles. Tired and grumpy, we camped for the night.
