I had a 10-day stretch off in my new schedule with no days picked up. You'd think the house would be clean and laundry would all be done -- but no, they were lushy. So, yesterday a miracle happened and a zero occurred.

This one's for Syn - daughter picked a HUGE-*kitten* tick burrowed in the dog yesterday. I can't believe the huge wound that's left. Of course, when I clean it - he acts like he's dying.

My C25K is moving slow. I just finished the 2nd week of week 1 - I know I am taking it slow. Wednesday starts Week 2.

Oh, I did my lushes proud at Warrior Dash. I went to where the old shoes are thrown and found not 1, not 2, but 3 free drink tabs that people didn't cash in and threw in the bin. :noway: Don't shudder, they were rescued.

Well, I think I will shoot for another zero tonight.

Kim - I am saddened to say that Holly is moving back to Vegas. Her last day is 7/12. I will still have to come to MN for a lushy visit. Or you can come visit me in North of Seattle territory.

I am happy that Holly will be where she is happy!! I would love to see Seattle and have a personal tour guide. Will she still be with US Bank?

    Yay Robin! Great news!

0 for me last night. I am shooting for 0's through Wednesday since most likely I'll drink Thursday - Saturday. Relatively heavily.....

Was <> close to saying F it I need a drink last night, but hung strong and managed a zero!
Planning on the same tonight. I am so bloated from the weekend that the thought of wearing my bikini this weekend makes me cringe!!!

two bottles of white wine to celebrate and cool off in the heat.:blushing:

Kim - Holly is staying with the bank. she has 8 years invested in US Bank so I don't blame her. I am proud of you for rescuing the free beer tabs. No free beer should ever be left undrunk.:drinker:

I slept better last night than I have in about 9 months. That is what stress does. Now that I know I don't have to work for her anymore I was finally able to sleep.

    Congrats to those going strong.

Robin, Ron use to support the US Bank network and has done some interviews with them. He even still hangs out with the peeps there. It's actually a great company to work for.

Kate - at least you can wear a bikini and I am sure that you will look :smokin: nice self-control

Ashley, good job - are you still sticking with the 12 a week?

:drinker: :drinker: 2 zeros for me!!:drinker: :drinker: Funny after about 2 days the scale starts to move in the right direction. I couldn't fall asleep until 3 last night - partially summer mode and possibly the body is like, "WTF, where is the liquor?" Work will fix since I am scheduled 9 days in a roll starting on the 4th.

Yep, 12 will be my goal this week. 12 was my goal last week and I ended up with 18. I'm hoping to keep July 4 to 6, the following Friday to 4, and that leaves me 2 for Saturday. Doubtful, but I'll plan for that. At the very least maybe I'll shoot for 17 this week. I have to say, the 7 drinks I had last Saturday made me feel like *kitten* Sunday.....

Yep, 12 will be my goal this week.

I will join you with the 12 for the week. I might just switch to beer - or - watered down vodka since I can have more volume that way!!

Chloe - the baby bump is super-duper cute!! Over half-way there....

I am prepping lots of good food for the 4th which I am sure cold beer will go well with.

    Sunday, 0
    Monday, 0
Tuesday, 0 goal set although in the back of my mind, I am thinking tomorrow is my last day off.

Split two bottles of red with husband last night. Not sure about today. We spent most of the day in bed, me napping on and off and he was stuck doing work. We still haven't eaten and I already want a drink due to the fact that the animals have just been making messes :grumble:

Excellent! It's so nice here today. If my husband tempts me with dinner out and/or wine, I may crumble. Oh *kitten*....I just remembered I restcoked dirty martini supplies on Friday.....

Kat, animals can def be a pain in the *kitten* - but, at least they are always nice to you

Ashley, haha - I think you may have already crumbled. Isn't it funny how going out to eat automatically means drinks are involved. Ever notice how cheap the bill is if you don't. I've been doing yard work in the hot, hot sun - makes me crave a corona for sure.

Robin - Congrats on your new job and that your daughter is moving a little closer.

Chloe - You are looking so cute! For a second I got a pang of jealousy, but then came to my senses. I am patiently awaiting grandchildren.

Kim - You made me laugh when you said you fished out beer tabs at the warrior dash. Winning!

For those of you with goals of 12...:drinker:

Syd - Even at our restaurant we serve beer and wine although it is quick serve casual. It should be illegal not to!

I was going to try for 0's until the 4th, but the hard ciders were calling my name from the fridge.

    Tuesday - 2 hard ciders

3 berry vodka and sprite zeros last night. I had like 700cals left after dinner and said F it. I couldn't end the day only eating 1000cals and I don't even care if they weren't nutritious calories
Tonight probably some more vodka while we pack up for the shore!
4:30 can not come soon enough!!!!!
    Happy 4th everyone!!!

Looks like I'll be going over my 12.

Make that 3 last night last, I found the 4th bottle nearly full this morning. I was so tired yesterday that I couldn't even finish the last little bugger.

Ashley, sounds like you at least had moderation of a sort.

    Kat, enjoy your trip!!

I am working tomorrow from 7 to 3 as an extra shift and I hope they can use me because it's double time and I am double broke-ish at the moment. That's the one good thing about nursing, you can pick up when you need to and request off when you need it.

Expenses are sky-rocketing and it's hard to keep up. 4 kids are just too much. My groceries this week alone were over $400. In fact, the average of groceries is $350 - so hard to feed this huge bunch day after day. Daughter needs to borrow $900 for car repair because she is a broke college student. She's working 2 jobs right now but no way she can chunk pay all of that.

Now, the son's car just got towed to the mechanic and I am sure that he is going to look pathetic and need a loan as well.

Robin, don't you feel carefree and happy that the kids are grown, gone and productive adults? I am almost there!!

I had 2 glasses of wine then a shot of vodka because I spent an hour trying to chase down the 2 cats which had escaped outside because sh!thead husband left the screendoor open. Our cats are indoors and the old bipolar one doesnt go far when she does escape...but the kitten had never been outside before and was going batsh!t crazy having a party out there.
I finally got a hold of the old b!itch but not before she scratched the hell outta me. I then spent the next hour chasing the baby like a madwoman crazy lunatic. I grabbed her once and threw her in the house then she immediately turned around and ran back out! I was sooooo pissed!

Cat stew tonight for dinner maybe.

^^^New quote of the month right here^^^^

Oh, Syd, while I am sure it was horrible...I am giggling over it because of the madwoman crazy lunatic description - I have a good visual on that probably because I can relate. Question is, was hubs out chasing down that cat as well - since he left the door open?

yes, he was out too...but he was making the situation worse because he was yelling at them.
when I finally got them all back in the house I went straight to the vodka and I hear my son say to his dad in the other room...."dad, this might be a good time for you to just go to bed. and if you pass her at some point in the night, don't look her in the eye"
I snickered but didnt let them see me smiling

Oh my god    The whole thing is just too funny!!!! Sorry you got scratched up those Syd!

One time, when we got home from Houston (Lenny, SIL and myself) we picked up pizzas on the way from the airport. At the time Lenny was having issues with dairy so he got a tomato pie and my SIL and I got something cheesy delicious I'm sure. To keep our pizza warm I turned the oven on 200degress. Its an electric oven...electric ovens have coils at the top right, RIGHT..if you didn't know lession learned...Len, for some reason, decided to stick his pizza in the oven too....why cause tomato pies are usually served room temp...second lession learned....anywho's a few mintures later we are sitting on the couch enjoying our pizza after a nice trip and we start to smell something burning....I opened the oven and FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed the box threw it outside and grabbed the fire extinguisher....a little dramatic yes, but I was so scared! As you can imagine, our closed up house (mid feb) was smokey so we opened all the windows and doors. After a while I noticed one of our cats wasn't around and after searching realized he wasn't there AND none of the open windows had screens in them....and so the search for Oscar began. He eventually came back on his own after us searching for hours outside in the cold.....You might ask why I went into such detail about the electric oven....well Len put his pizza on the top shelf of the oven directly touching the coils, HENCE the fire....he got *kitten* for quite awhile for that....actually SIL and just brought it up again over the weekend, hahaha
