1.5 Miles with my niece this afternoon at the park. She is new mother looking to shed some baby weight and she called and asked if I would walk with her. This made my day. Her first walk and we managed 1.5 miles. She asked if I would walk with her again this week. Heck Yeah!! [That is great for the both of you, it's great that you have family to go with. I better the weather was nice also]0 -
I actually did a work out tonight, that's different for me. I did 5 mins on bike, 20 mins with LS, did some weight lifting, it was beautiful out this evening side, so I decided to try a little jog maybe 50 to 100ft I don't know what two blocks equal and I'm talking one direction, lol from my house to the stop sign. The other thing is I really don't know how to jog very flat footed. then walked a couple of blocks. My breathing was a little; lets just say sucking wind for lot for a bit. But I am taking it very slow I'm almost 55 and very over weight I don't want to drop dead.
I think with my other work outs I might be up to 6 miles total. Slow and steady0 -

@bgoddess2003 Good for you!! My husband is also very flat footed and hates running.
I'm looking at signing up for my first 5K this Month. The 5K is in June. I'm planning on running, jogging and walking it. I've found a few apps for my phone that are 5K trainers so I may see what those are like.0 -
thanks I might have to get one of those arm bands to hold the phone, lol good luck to you as well. I might have to step it up and try a 5k. Let me know how you make out with your app. I tried one but I couldnt do what they wanted Im too slow. I'm not giving up just adapting. Lol Deeder522 wrote: »@bgoddess2003 Good for you!! Hi all. I've decided I am going to join your challenge.
I am 66, retired, and have not been as active as I should. I have a couple of Leslie's DVD's, and I'm trying to get out walking, and slowly build up my stamina, and therefore my distance. It seems that no matter which direction I walk, coming home is up hill, so it's a good workout for me. So far I only do 1 mile (or less)- but for now my main goal is to just do something every day, and then increase the length as time goes on, maybe a bit more each week.
So my goal for the rest of March is 20 miles - 1 mile (at least) for the remaining 20 days. I think I need a challenge to stay consistent.
Thank you all for being here, and you are all so inspiring!

Oh gee, I forgot to add, today I did do 1.1 miles, walking outside. The heavy snow we had last week has finally melted. 3 days ago the yards had a foot of snow, today the snow is gone, crocuses are starting to bloom, and the tulip and daffodil leaves are about 3" high. Its a great time to start a walking plan.0

I am so far behind that there may be no catching up this month. We have been on spring break, so I should be miles ahead for the month! However, I have been working on the reaccreditation of our Early Childhood Education Program and it looks like they will earn reaccreditation so it was all worth it. We want the best education and educators possible for Flint children considering what they have been through in the last 2 years. A couple of more weeks of data crunching and making graphs, charts etc is the least I can do and we should be home free. Of course I still have to prep, teach and grade my own classes as well! Do you know what all this sitting is doing to by behind! :noway: Meh there is always tomorrow!
Walk Strong Everyone! :bigsmile:0 -
