My 12-month point is the beginning of June, and I'd like to reach 100 lbs by then. Sadly, I am about 25 pounds away. Should I double-down, or stop obsessing?
Take it from me..... don't drive yourself crazy.... I am beating myself up over the last 12 pounds to make my 100 pound goal in a years time and I only have a few more weeks left and it is not looking good I will keep trying for it but if I don't make it I am going to have to look at the bright side of how much I have taken off in that year and what an amazing accomplishment that is and move on to my next short term goal..... keep it moving0 -
I go see my dr in 9 days and I've hit my 30 lbs goal maybe I'll be down a little more by then0

Thanks everyone, I'll just keep on keeping on 25 or not. So my mini goal:
I've been on sort of a plateau since January, so I have to re-focus anyway, but what happens, happens. In that case, my mini-goal is to average 10k steps a day for the month of April. (I was doing that last December, but fell off a bit.)0 -
My mini goal for now is to get under 270, ideally by April 20th, before a 4 day trip to London: First time to the UK!
On Sunday (April 3) I weighed in at 273.6. I've had a couple off days this week though, so I'm anticipating anything from a very small loss to a gain this week. We'll see; I only weigh myself on Sunday mornings, to keep myself from getting discouraged throughout the week.0 -
Ten more pounds for my next goal. And buy a belt so my pants will stay up!! And make it to 45 min work outs0

Went to bed at 299.2 (after an awesome workout last night), had nothing to eat or drink, and weighed in this morning at 302... Whatever. lol
Just call me Captain Bipolar Body.0 -

Just call me Captain Bipolar Body.
This is why I only weigh myself once/week. For me, the normal fluctuations that happen within a day would drive me mad. Water retention, sodium levels... I also tend to weigh myself after I urinate in the morning, not really on purpose, but that does end up making a huge difference. So much fluid gets processed during the night.0 -
Hit my first mini goal of 10 lbs !!! On the the next 10 ..0

I have just been asked by my brother and sister in law to be my nieces God mother. This is a huge honour and I'm very happy about it. The christening is 8th May and I would really like to lose another stone by then. I will be in all the photos and I hate having my photo taken. Tomorrow is my birthday so I am allowing myself the day off. So from Wednesday I have 25 days to lose at least 14lb.1

Weekly mini-goal (hit 1.5 lb loss each week) - done!
I've decided to add one more mini-goal: I'm going to keep track in stones as well as pounds, as I'm only 2 lbs away from losing my first stone.
My husband is English, so we have scales that do both units. I think some of the appeal for me is because while I know what a stone is, I have to do the calculation in my head to make sense of it. Thus, it seems quite innocent when looking at a figure like 'losing 9 stone' - heck, I can count all those on my fingers! Makes the weight loss journey seem so much more manageable and achievable.
If you already use stone, maybe you could make up your own unit of measurement. Say, each 12 pounds or 17 pounds (or whatever amount most appeals to you) is now called a "ninja-kitten". Just consider how much easier it is to say, "I only have 8 ninja-kittens to lose, I can totally do this!"1 -

I want to lose 1 stone 7. That would get me right in there below the 300s. I want to do that before May 11 to complete my first 2 months

Adding a goal... I have an appointment with my dr on June 8. I was 280-ish when I last saw him. I'm down 17 pounds & would love to lose another 15 - 20 pounds by that appointment. He's a technically outstanding dr, but his bedside manner lacks. I feel like 30-40 pounds lost would be a great loss to report to him & maybe he won't be quite as "jerk-y" at the next visit.0

OMG!... I'd just (unfortunately) just taken a sip of tea when the totally unexpected phrase "ninja-kittens" caused me to laugh SO hard that it came flying outta my mouth (& nose)!! Then, I tried to post a reply but was still giggling so much that I somehow zapped it! I'm still wiping tea off of my phone & shirt, but I *really* needed a good laugh today!

If he doesn't get up on the examination table and do a celebratory dance for you at that achievement, he's just a nincompoop. 17 is awesome, and 30-40 will be mega-awesome, great job!0 -

Bwaahaahaa! My job here is done then
(I've had that reaction a time or so myself, the worst was when it was right after a sip of Coke. Carbonation of the sinuses is not recommended.)0 -

Me too!! I doubled-over and so totally needed that laugh. Laughter burns calories, too, right?0 -
So awesome!!!! Good for you!0

My new next mini goal is 287. That will be 2stone off hopefully for my nieces christening. I think at my size you won't really be able to see the lose, but I will feel better knowing I've lost it.2

299 as of this morning! Here I come 275.1

Nice work, @Pepperh3ad!!!
@Nuari2016 , thank you . If he's not at least supportive & encouraging this visit, I'm finding a new dr!!0 -
Saw my endocrinologist today and my weigh in was 32 lbs lost. She actually told me good job. She helped set my new goal. I she's aiming for a 24 lbs loss when I see her again in July.2

I hit my first mini-goal yesterday, of getting under 270 lb! I officially weighed in at 269.0!
My next mini goal is to be under 260. 10 pounds at a time seems like a good plan for me.2 -

Met a goal this morning! Weighed in at 259.3 - goodbye 260s!!1
