Hi to Team pie, strava is giving me grief an unable to invite you to join the team. Please send a request through and I will approve it. Also nominate if you would like admin privileges. Happy riding

ach, just pick all the regulars and make them have it... thats what I did. If they don't want it, they can always demote themselves...

If someone wants to make me an admin in Twinkie Scoff, that's fine.

okay, that's just the final two riders @icehurtz and @awmayhall that I need Strava URL's for... Tom @TDSeest - aren't they your mates, don't suppose you already "follow" them on Strava and could possibly PM me their rider URL's...

I've forwarded instructions to them for retrieving their Strava URL's...They'll be posting them here as soon as they get computer / web access. I also asked them to read the new logging thread.

OK in Strava there are two Twinkie Scoff teams. I am in the MFP-TwinkieScoff team and admin, now I find MFP_Team TwinkieScoffers of which I am not a member. The one I am in is the same one from last year and before. I guess I am confused.

Okay i sent the invite from both of us! Let me know if that works or if theres anything else we need to do.

Me and him both still have to figure out how to get CycleMeter to import to our strava accounts. I will be taking care of that tonight.

You are both in the Strava team so as long as you can import your ride data you are good to go for tomorrow!

yes, but as per normal in the first couple of days, it's a "work in progress" - if you, or anyone finds anything wrong with it, give me a shout via PM, and i'll try and fix it.

It's a big cumbersome beastie, and takes a little bit of "management" to keep it all in check, so as many "eyes on" as possible helps get rid of the odd bug.

Thank you Mark @TheBigYin for the clear instructions or I would totally miss what I still need to do. I have just requested to join (i) the actual Giro Challenge Group and (ii) Team Twinkie Scoff. I think I am already a member in MFPCChallenge.

    glad it helped

sorted - and details added to the appropriate spreadsheet - you'll be getting a couple of invites from the appropriate Strava Virtual Clubs as well.

I don't remember. How many team members have to log miles on a TT day?

myself and @andrewmayhall loged 8.6 miles each this morning! We know that's not a lot, but at least a 17 mile contribution to our team :) !

I still haven't found the link yet that is about how to log appropriately, I think @TDseest is sending that to me today. But we got our cyclemeter to automatically feed our ride info into Strava and MFP. And we made sure to accept all the invites on Strava, so hopefully that's all we gotta do. If not let me know!

Every bit helps - and you both did a lot more than me!

You log your miles in this thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10384720/2016-mfp-giro-ditalia-challenge-logging-thread#latest from the data in your Strava ride. Just make sure your Strava account is switched to metric so distance and ascent is km and meters. All the Strava groups are just a fun/easy way to see how all the other riders are doing but the MPF logging thread is the official form and where the spreadsheet (appearing soon) data is derived from.

That only applies on a TEAM TIME TRIAL day, the Giro this year has a couple of Individual Time Trials, but hasn't got a TTT. So, basically, as long as one rider gets the distance, the rest of the team could take the day off...

(TTT Days, completion is based on 5 or more finishers...)

Pretty Much Spot On, apart from one thing - joining the MFP Cycling Challenges group is not optional... We're looking towards being able to switch off the manual logging of rides for the TdF and Vuelta... BUT we pick up the ride details using a wonderful App written by Jason - @Jakess1971 - referred to as CycLeagues. This basically hoovers up the data from Strava in the MFP Cycling Challenges group, and does all sorts of clever things with it. But best of all, it also throws out a list of all the daily distances for each of the 3 grand tour challenges. I then hoover THAT file up, bung it into the spreadsheet, and present the same information god knows how many different ways...

Basically, the Strava Groups are there for the following reason...

    MFP Cycling Challenges
    https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFPCChallenge

The Data Source for all the automatic posting stuff.

    MFP_GiroD'Italia_2016
    https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP_Giro_Challenge

A single source group that I can browse through and use as my Strava "newsfeed" to ensure that the auto-posting stuff is picking up all the correct data. It basically allows me to filter out any other of my "friends" who aren't riding this challenge when I'm working on the spreadsheet.

    MFP_Team Pastana - https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP_TeamPastana
    MFP_LottaJumbos - https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP-LottaJumbos
    MFP_Team TwinkieScoffers - https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP_TeamTwinkieScoffers
    MFP_TeamPie - https://www.strava.com/clubs/MFP-TeamPie

These 4 are basically a "clubhouse" for each individual team - so you can use the "noticeboards" to post up any absences that team members may have - or discuss / arrange "team tactics" without the other teams getting to see ;)
