Carla, now that you mention that, I was thinking I wish we had an easier way to share our recipes. Searching the forum isn’t the easiest way to do it. I wonder if there’s a site where you can form a group to share recipes that we could use. I had to look up encaustic art, sounds very cool! I’m so impressed with your artistic talents!

I had forgotten you were taking guitar lessons Karrie… glad you are enjoying it!

    Happy Birthday Lia!!!

I like End of Dieting so far. Seems that Dr. F is taking a more friendly approach in it and addressing the emotional/mental aspects more.

After reviewing the 10 in 20 and shopping lists a bit more I think I will put that off. I just don’t have time to think about preparing meals 3 times a day, even if they are easy. I would rather stick to smoothies or oatmeal for breakfast, salads for lunch, and then I will experiment with some of the dinners, and maybe the breakfasts and lunches on weekends. I was happy to find that in the stock your pantry list I had almost everything already. I do need to get back to keeping it simple and having my big salads for lunch. I do best when I keep it light and simple during the day and only worry about cooking at dinner.

I have not seen the mouse, I think he may have gone back under the stove after I banged the top of the stove with a pan repeatedly after seeing him the first time lol. The cats are still on sentry duty so I think he’s under there and they know it.

B – smoothie (amazing grass, greens, chia seeds, half a frozen banana)
L – hummus wrap, olives, some Lay’s stackers chips
D – black bean quesadilla, watermelon

Happy Birthday Lia!!! Stinks to be under a pile of work on your birthday but great timing to have a long weekend to celebrate! We have this Monday off too, yay!!! We have a cool deal at our office where you get the day off for your birthday. You have to use it on your birthday or within 3 days of your birthday I think, so usually people take a Monday or Friday and have 3 day weekend. Sounds like you are super busy with work. Did you change jobs when you moved to your new place? Sorry, you probably mentioned and I forget. Bad memory! Seems like you've got a lot on your plate lately. How are you enjoying the new place now that you've had more time to settle in? Did you end up moving forward with any of the landscaping? How was the wedding?

Mihani, have you ever used copymethat.com? They have a community where you can select a public name for sharing recipes and then people can view your shared recipes. I haven't tried the community aspect, but I have used the site to copy recipes before. You install a plugin on your browser and then click the icon to copy a recipe and save it to the site. It seems to work okay so we could give that a try. I'm up for other suggestions as well.

Karrie, I love how you dive in (<- hah accidental swimming pun!) with such enthusiasm. It is inspiring. What did you do with your first day of having the kids in school?

Today I ate a whole pound of tofu by myself. Yeesh. That's just embarrassing. I'd marinated it yesterday for dinner and then our plans changed. I didn't want it to go to waste so I did a stir fry with some brown rice for lunch today and then when I was snacky later, I had just the remaining tofu by itself. haha binging on tofu.

I guess we need to come up with a slogan for September. I've got nothing. Hope someone else is feeling inspired!

    Happy birthday Lia!!

The kids don't start until September 28th, but I might try to start a little earlier than that.

But first I need to get my butt moving in the mornings again. I miss my zombies!! I've gotten up at 5am the last 2 mornings, but I've had school stuff to contend with. So I'm hoping next week to start my post-apocalypse walk/run sessions again. Yay!!

Carla, I had to work on their first day of school. :disappointed: I work 80% of full time, so unfortunately, there's that... This is my last year at 80%, because this is the year that my daughter takes the babysitting course, and next year she'll be able to watch her brother so I can go back to full time. To be honest, I do NOT really want to go back to full time, EVER.....

I will check that out Carla, if you want to set it up that would be awesome. I have eaten a whole pound of tofu before myself, there is a maple ginger tofu recipe that I adore, and if I make it I’ll have it for dinner and then keep dipping into the leftover container all evening until it is gone. I don’t make it too often.

Karrie, is staying at the “almost full time” level doable?

Good grief, I totally forgot it is September. I was thinking like “slap some sense into me September”, but that might be a bit scary to newbies lol. I will put some thought into it, if nobody else can come up with anything by tomorrow.

I am planning to work most of the “holiday” weekend. I keep thinking if I could get a bit more caught up that I wouldn’t be so crazed half the time, but I can’t get caught up with all the craziness going on. Here’s hoping for a very productive weekend.

B – amazing grass shaken with almond milk (I ran out of hemp milk, but it is definitely my favorite now, thick and creamy, so good)
    L – hummus wrap, olives
D – roasted veggie wheat crust pizza with a little daiya
S – skinny pop and a luna bar

I’m going to loosen the reins a bit on food this weekend, which is pretty much what I’ve been doing most weekends unfortunately, and also allow for some beer or wine. Tuesday it will be back to stricter ETL.

To be less intimidating you could just call it Sensible September.

I could stay almost full time indefinitely - we can certainly afford it, and I'd prefer it, but I've been getting pressure from my director, wondering "when are you going to be able to go back to full time" - he's been asking me that for 3 years already... I always had the "my kids are too young to stay home alone" excuse. But next year that won't be true anymore...
