Does that mean that you haven't had any protein for 2 weeks - only fat? As far as I've read, a "fat fast" should only be done for about 3 days.

As for the cravings, eat something delicious/decadent that you maybe never would have considered in the low fat days. Coffee with HWC, steak with blue cheese & butter on it.... whatever your favorites might be.

I also have the "carbmares", where I dream that I gave in and ate something carby. I'm always so relieved to wake up and find out that I didn't actually eat them. I've been keto for about 6 months, and the last one was a few nights ago. I dreamt I ate Rice Chex - whaaaaat?????

I had the same question as above.

But also, are you replacing sodium?

Something is imbalanced. How is your hunger aside from the cravings?

I've had those dreams myself. Usually eating my favorite cookies, like 5 large ones, even see the color of the icing. What a relief when I wake up. I don't believe I will ever truly be craving-free. Every so often it gets intense and sometimes I weaken, but go straight back to keto at the next meal.

Ha ha ha! I've not had a carbmare but if I ever do I sure hope I dream about something delicious - and Rice Chex does not fall into the delicious category for me! :D

When I wanted sugar the first week or so I just ate more fat. Discovered chocolate fat bombs (basically chocolate, cocoa butter, almond butter and real butter). It feels very decedant and almost like a chocolate truffle.

You can do this!! Keep strong x

what helped me in the beginning was finding LCHF foods that felt indulgent (bacon, coffee or tea with HWC like pp mentioned, fat bombs, a spoonful of almond butter, cream cheese pancakes, etc.) and eating those instead when I craved something carby. I would also start thinking about something spicy or savory, and start thinking about how good that would taste. If it was something flavorful (but not sweet) that would also seem to help, and I gradulaly started craving those things (for me it was things like dill pickles, pepper jack cheese, etc.) instead of sweets.

"I'm making the choice", "I'm making the choice" was my mantra! Still is! It's simple, but has worked!

Make sure you're getting appropriate macros! Ignore calories on these days, and EAT keto friendly foods, until you don't want the stuff that makes us I'll! Make the choice for you!

I'll second what she said! Make sure you are eating solid keto food choices, and don't worry about calories for a couple day. Eat until you are satisfied so that you can get past the craving because they will pass.

I had those dreams when I first started keto. By not giving in to them I lost mega weight in about a year. Then the sugar beast resurfaced in full force and I succumbed without the motivation of desparation.
we battled back and forth for 6 months on a daily high pitched level as I fought to rebuild and reconnect with my life.
For some reason, I stuck to my guns and strategized and struggled winning some days and losing on some days to big time sugar binges- mostly on the lonely weekends....regaining 25 of 135 pounds...
Then something clicked and I'm back on track, heading back down to my newly selected new goal weight with a vengeance....and I have no understanding of why! NO UNDERSTANDING!

The moral of the story is ...never give up.

Im in this for life. Just threw out a walker that I needed to use one and a half years ago yesterday. Now I go out dancing to rock and roll every week for hours at a time. I'm never going back and I'm never giving in.
I do not have the illusion that I will never come across the sugar beast again...but I am ready to fight for my life whenever it resurfaces from the depths of my unresolved needs.!!
    Keto for life!

<3 this! I love that you are not giving up even though you had setbacks, speaks a lot to your dedication and willingness to be successful! Kudos to you! You are an inspiration :)

2 weeks of a fat fast? I thought a fat fast should be only be done 3-5 days at a time..

Just remember, bacon is the candy of meats. Bacon is my desert of choice all the time. Plus, it helps with the sodium mentioned above as any cured meat is very high in sodium. You can even have maple bacon as it really has very little carb content, but might help with the sweet craving. Even the Hormel Black Label Brown Sugar bacon only has 1 g of carbs per serving.

Take in more fluid, more sodium, more potassium, more coconut oil, more macadamia nuts, more heavy whipping cream, more coffee...... but don't go near a *kitten* bakery.

Almost no one can tickle the dragon's tail and not get burned! :o
Impossible? Look at how many successful ex-boozers and ex-smokers there are. It's hard, but it can be done, like any addiction:

Can you imagine your beloved cupcakes as urinal disinfectant cakes (used) - who wants that kind of lemon tart? :s
    How about your pies? Drano.
    Apple strudel? D-con.
Ice cream? Nasty garlic-flavored laxative. :*

    (Rinse & repeat.)

Yeah, I know it strains the imagination, but sad to say for many (if not most) of us here, only genuine no-no rules seem to work.

This reminded me of one of Wally Lamb's books where the girl wanted to lose weight, so she imaged maggots and worms crawling all over everything she shouldn't eat. Must admit, I tried it and ya, those goodies are not so tempting then.

Make sure you get enough protein, not just fats and I echo the electrolytes info in the other posts.

They lost their grip on me about two weeks after I stopped sugar and grain two years ago. The cravings have not returned but I still have the memory of their taste and chose to trip myself up a few times. :)

Best of success. I am still regaining my health. It is awesome to be feeling younger each year for the last two years.

I hope you just mean normal Keto eating and not two weeks of a fat fast. That would definitely burn you out - restricting myself too much has always been what's burned me out on low carb in the past and there is really no need! Eat veggies, put a bit of butter on them. Have a few berries and some cream!

Are you following a particular plan and have you got a book or anything related to it? Some of your q's here make me think you might do well with the reassurance of following a specific plan...
