Refeed/Cheat Days.. when and how much?

I really miss some of the high carb foods, even after going months without (and the longer I go, the more intense it gets). I had a quasi-high carb day in August and a real high-carb cheat weekend in April. The cravings for higher carb foods was just becoming more and more intense, so I was planning on Nov. (Thanksgiving), but couldn't last that long. I ended up having a high carb cheat day on Fri., which spilled over into the weekend.
Here's what I had: Fri. - Donuts for breakfast / chips, candy, cookies, etc. for snacks / pizza buffet for lunch / a pizza, dozen cookies, and most of a pan of brownies for dinner. Sat. and Sun. were finishing up what was left, mixed in with other LCHF friendly foods. So Sat. and Sun. was finishing up the first pan of brownies, a pan of rice krispy bars, and a pint of ice cream.
Whenever I do cheat days, my BG is very very difficult to control. I have type 1 diabetes, but after a long time of eating low carb, my sensitivity to carbs is enhanced. I took amylin before each time I ate more than 30g of carbs at a time, took a ton of insulin, and still had high BG's that were really difficult and took a very long time and multiple boluses of insulin to bring down. I also was weaker and had calf cramps for the first time in awhile. The carbs just really screw me up, but they are soooo delicious. I also gained around 7 lbs., 5 of which I've lost as of this morning (this is the part that I can reasonably say is water weight).1 -
Forgive my ignorance - quite new to this. What do PR and CKD stand for?
Many thanks.0 -

PR= personal record, usually in weightlifting.
CKD=cyclical ketogenic diet. Basically, I run keto six days per week, then have a massive carb refeed once per week, once I am completely glycogen depleted.0 -

I cant wait to get closer to goal so I can incorporate this. My lifts are crap right now. Oh well...it's the price I pay to not be fat, and it's worth it right now!0 -

So long as you are keeping at a deficit and constantly challenging yourself in the weightroom, progress will follow. Honestly, I just got back to lifting in early August, after a three year stint of being a lazy shitler.
I'm already almost back to where I left off, and look to pull 455 again on deadlift before the year is over. My current cut has slowed progress, but not reversed anything. Currently stuck at 385 until I can stop eating like an Ethiopian again.0
