February Challenge

I will be putting up a February sign up sheet later today or tomorrow! It will use the same link as we always use. Please fill in your final weight, calories and exercise into the current sheet for January. I will move a copy of the data into the following spreadsheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HTqQXWjjDQn46w9TyQb5OGDo_-oHNUFs5fIPlZljqvs/edit?usp=sharing

There is also a "Super Challenge" sheet for the days between now and Feb 1 for people to log a little extra exercise:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RJF7pPZjGkMZXSX81X1qNnQminHIOT1byLovfgoCb-4/edit?usp=sharing

Is anyone interested in keeping a supplemental challenge going like we did in January?
I think my goals will be to exercise more. You are your own gym and more dancing around at home lol. I want to work back up to the 5 days a week goal. I've gotten too lazy and it's only 4.5 months left in this pregnancy. Need to try to prep for delivery as much as I can.

What's everyone else planning on doing?

Thanks for all the spreadsheet work @VeryKatie! I loved the challenge this month, and I'm up for a super challenge for the next few days. Is the calorie tracker just for calories burned from activity or do you use your day's total from a fitness tracker?

For February, I want to bike commute to work at least 3 days a week (in addition to maintaining jogging/lifting routine). I'll let myself off the hook in case of snow on the ground, but no other excuses to not do it at least three times a week.

@pezhed I've been using it as calories from activity but you can use it however best suits you. As long as it's consistent, then it'll still hopefully show a trend of increased activity :)

@VeryKatie I've finished filling out the January spreadsheet. Haven't been on the computer lately and I thought today was actually the 28th so I'm a day off! haha

I liked having the supplemental challenge and would like to keep it going.

My goal is to limit my snacking in between meals and lose an additional 4 pounds in February.

Let's roll call for the February challenge, shall we?

I log my weight on Monday, so will continue to do so. I will also include the first and last day of the month. Chose whatever format you prefer here.

    February goals:
    -lose 5#
    -strong lifts workout 10x
-continue stretching and epsom soak baths
-focus on stress reduction, and focusing on the important things

    1/30: 198# (Mondays weight)
    2/1: 197 (I hope!)
    2/28 goal: 192#

Let's kick off another awesome month, you ladies kicked *kitten* in January, keep up the amazing work! :p

Ok what I'm going to do is this:

Goal: Exercise 3 times this week.
    Plan:
    Tuesday - Xbox Kinect
    Thursday - Zumba
Saturday - Either Xbox Kinect or YAYOG.

I'll mark them off when I finish them.

In February I want to plan to lose 1 pound per week. I weigh in on Fridays so I am going from last Friday's weight:

    Starting Weight 1/27 - 169.5
    Feb end goal - 165.4

I also think I'm going to do one of those monthly squat challenges...maybe this one: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/butt/exercises/30-day-squat-challenge/

I need a way to get some more exercise in daily, because I have not been too successful at waking up before work to get a DVD in.

    Happy February!

    Goal:

    Feb 28th: 197.8

Ahhh well today I had gained some from last week so I failed my 2/1 goal of 133.6 and weighed in at 134.2 this morning.

    So starting weight 2/1: 134.2
Goal weight: 129.6 (4 lbs less than January goal)

Still have secondary goal of riding my bike to work 3 days a week (though I failed at that this week, but it doesn't count yet, right?)
    Then
    Lift 2x a week
Jog at least 5 miles a week

I anticipate a bit of a challenge with the weightloss because my birthday is the 10th, and we're going to Steamboat Springs for a long weekend where most food will be in restaurants, but at least I'll be skiing a bunch!

I'll do this squat challenge with you. My butt is way flat and I hate it. I do Stong Lifts, but this challenge is unweighted squats, so I should be able to add this in. We starting today?

    15 squats...go!

Alright Jenna, I did my SL workout yesterday, and used the 15 squats as a warm up. Im excited to try these other kinds of squats that Ive never done before. I printed off the sheet, and am marking them off with an x when I finish the squats for the day. Lets start March with a firmer booty than we started February with! :D

    Another pound down this week:

    Starting Weight 1/27 - 169.5
    2/3 - 168.5
    Feb end goal - 165.4

    How's everyone else doing?!

I guess since Monday I'm down another pound and a half, from 198 to 196.4

Have done 2 strong lifts workouts and 2 days of the squat challenge.
Hoping this sciatic flair up goes away, or I might have to cut squats out of my workout. Ive come way too far with my pain management to go backwards!! Continuing at this point though, going to do lots of stretching and epsom salt baths, and a massage tomorrow, so hoping the pain goes away so I can kick butt in February! Since we are officially ttc, my days could be numbered to drop this weight, so I am kicking it into high gear until pregnancy fatigue takes me down!

Planning on doing todays squat challenge (yep, feeling sore a bit already) and a 5x5 workout. Adding cardio in too, even though its winter and I hate winter cardio. I cant deny it burns fat and calories! Planning on killing it this weekend! Game face on! :#

Not bad for going to an all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse Saturday and Superbowl on Sunday :) I did see the numbers drop during the week, so not bothered by it. @jennamae102 I did forget to do my squats on Saturday though! Whoops! How are you doing on that challenge?

    @Kirstie155 still doing great!

I was surprisingly down a little bit this morning after eating at Carabba's last night and just kind of indulging all weekend, especially Friday.

    SW: 134.2
    CW: 133.4
    2/28 GW: 129.6

Rode my bike to work today for the first time this month. Going to spin class tonight, and planning to lift tomorrow and Thursday, and go climbing tomorrow night. I guess that means jog on Wednesday ugh. I haven't been very good at keeping my side goals so far but I'm kind of counting this week as the first week of February since it's the first full work week of the month. Happy Monday, all!

@Kirstie155 I'd say that is great for going to a steakhouse & enjoying the superbowl! You'll be at your Feb goal in no time!

I've enjoyed the squats, ready for day 6 today. It has made me realize how tight my leg & hip muscles are though, so I've been trying to stretch more and use my foam roller.

@krizaten33 Hope your little one feels better!

Just returned home from an overnight trip to see our sperm donor. Definitely used it as an excuse not to follow my goals. I hate when I do that! Now to stay on track and focus on healthy eating and exercise instead of my 2ww.

Fingers crossed for you in your 2ww! Want to tell us more a out your TTC journey? How long you have been trying, ECT? Sorry if you posted that somewhere else and I missed it.

Last week I lifted 3x and had a deep tissue massage that left me sore for days. It's the first day of my period (I hope that explains the scale stall, bloat and terrible attitude and weepiness I've been feeling! Even though I'm tracking these symptoms still surprise me) for the remainder of this week I am taking it easy. Focusing on sleep, walking and stretching.

Stupid scale and bloaty makes me feel bad about myself when I'm all hormonal, lol. First day of my first cycle trying though!! Excited about that!

    Weigh In:

    Feb 1st: 200.8
    Feb 8th: 205.8 (but today I'm 200.4. Interesting. haha)

    Goal:

    Feb 28th: 197.8

    @katycapp Good luck! =)

@Kirstie155 I think that would explain it. I'm a day away from my period and I just dropped 5.4 pounds overnight. haha

    5.4 pounds overnight, wow, hahaha!

Im having all the symptoms right now, and took a midol this morning because I woke up with a headache and just cant function right now. Trouble falling asleep all week, waking up in the middle of the night. Backache, hormonal. I just cant function. I usually stay away from meds if I can help it, but Im waving the white flag today. I showered but didnt dry my hair, I just didnt have the energy. This is not boding well for how I will function in early pregnancy :(

I may not have put much info when I introduced myself. :-)
My partner and I have been trying to get pregnant with our 2nd for just over a year. We were doing at home inseminations using a known donor. In November, our donor stopped responding to our messages so we had to look for a new one. We used that opportunity to take December and January off to have some tests done. Everything came back normal other than my vit D (which most likely has nothing to do with me not getting pregnant).
We found a new donor and I started vit D supplements. This cycle I took femara (lowest dose) and a trigger shot to time our inseminations. I am currently 3 or 4 dpo.

    good luck @katycapp !!

@Kirstie155 hope you feel better, I know my period symptoms shocked me the first few months after going off the pill. And oh I just realized I forgot to do my squats yesterday...I'll have to double up tonight.

@Kirstie155 Yeah, haha I thought the same thing. I'm sure you'll be fine when you're pregnant, you'll do what you have to do. I hope you feel better soon!!

@katycapp Thank you for sharing more of your journey with us!

@WifiresGettingFit that's a huge overnight loss! Must've had some major water retention yesterday.

@katycapp It's good to hear more about your process. Trying for a year with a donor sounds a little frustrating, especially when the first one disappeared. Glad things are going better now. Fingers crossed for you 2ww (also you are teaching me a million abbreviations! dpo too!)

@Kirstie155 Sorry to hear about your PMS! That sounds brutal!

I'm waiting for my period to come. Since this is my first cycle off of birth control I'm really excited/curious to see what my period is like, but apparently my cycle is longer than 28 days. I never tracked it before I was on birth control so I honestly have no idea. Did it take you guys a while off of birth control for your cycles to normalize? I'm bummed it isn't here yet and paranoid that its tardiness is indicative of issues, even though I know that isn't rational.

I keep eating over my calories but am showing an overall downward trend in weight still, so not too discouraged. I know that I'll have to be more disciplined as I get closer to my goal. My husband sheds weight so quickly it drives me nuts. He eats ALL the foods and just exercises a little and torches 6000 calories in a day.

    SW: 134.2
    CW: 132.8 (but I was 132.0 yesterday morning ><)
    2/28 GW: 129.6
