@pezhed haha yeah, no kidding. I can even tell, I'm pretty sure the water was sitting on my stomach and sides. haha I feel like I deflated overnight. =P

I can't really speak from my own experience because I haven't come off birth control yet but it isn't uncommon for it to take the body a while to adjust at least from what I've read/heard. Hopefully the others can chime in with their experience.

I just wanted to share that I reached over 11,500 steps today!! (which is a new record for me!)

    Another pound down this week:

    Starting Weight 1/27 - 169.5
    2/3 - 168.5
    2/10 - 167.5
    Feb end goal - 165.4

I've missed my squats the last 2 days...my right hip/leg muscles are really tight and uncomfortable. I feel out of alignment :( I'm hoping to get a massage this weekend and keep stretching to hopefully feel back to normal.

How's everyone else doing on their Feb goals?

I've been struggling with insomnia all week and am struggling to function tbh. Working out is off the table until I get more sleep. Diet wise Im right on track honestly that is what will help me lose the fat anyway. Im so tired I dont want to keep my head up at work!

Jenna, be careful with that tight hip. That is exactly how my injury started. I would stop squatting until you are feeling better. Stretch, stretch, stretch. Have your masseuse stretch you as well. I continued squatting heavy until I couldnt stand without pain and it cost me going on 5 months of rehab work to feel better, and squats still cause it to flare up :/ Dont be like me. Take it easy. I cannot stress this enough. Oh, and it was only one hip for me as well, so its possible you are our of alignment like you said, which is what is causing the discomfort.

Kirstie I'm so sorry that your injury was so bad! I will take your advice and lay off of the squats. My whole body felt kindof out of whack over the weekend and then I did an hour long Zumba on Sunday, so I think I just tweaked something. Sitting all day at work and on the train doesn't seem to be helping...so lots of stretching and using the foam roller this weekend.

Also, I hope you are able to get some sleep! Not feeling rested is the worst.

Son had the flu last week and it was my week of the month, now I have the flu!....just found out that even if I recover before hand, i will probably have to be out for a full week! hope to get lots done and work on projects that there is not time to get done. Feeling broke. but maybe i can turn this into something productive....and well behaved. I have a bad cough, but i think im on the upswing. Feeling like ive lost a lot of strength with 1.4 weeks of no real intesne exercise............
Need your encouragement. tracked like a champ today!

@Kirstie155 How are you feeling now? I hope better! That sounds awful!

@jennamae102 Is your hip any better? As for my goals, I'm doing pretty good so far. I'm really feeling good about February!

@Krizaten33 I hope you feel better soon! You can absolutely turn this into a positive, productive outcome but don't forget to rest too! Being sick can be pretty taxing, take care of yourself! Way to go on tracking, all positive changes add up! Just take it one step at a time!

    Happy Monday everyone!

@Kirstie155 Good job on the loss!
@Krizaten33 I hope you feel better soon! Relax and recover and take care of yourself. If you do lose strength this quickly, you can get it back just as quickly once you recover!

I was SO BAD over the weekend. I just went through and tracked everything I could remember consuming and went 3469 calories over between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is a legitimate pound. That's even after I earned ~800 calories/day in exercise from skiing. Pretty disgusting calorie totals. That plus the water retention from eating out so much added up to a weigh-in of 135.4 lbs (2-lb gain from last week). Ah well, birthday is only once a year, yes? So back on track today with spin class tonight and paying attention to what I eat all day every day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! @pezhed Hope you enjoyed your birthday! Don't dwell on the gain - most will be water and come off again easily. Hope everyone else is feeling better - still a couple of weeks to go in February to get on track.

We've been ttc for 3 months now, and I'm on a bit of a mission to get my BMI under 25 beforehand - then will slow may weight loss right down. I moved to Bermuda at this time last year and have since gained a whopping 26lbs! I'd love to be back to normal before getting pregnant, but if I can just get under 155lbs I'll be happy.

    SW 166
    CW 160.3
    GW 158 (end of Feb)
    UGW 140

@krizaten33 wow I hope you feel better! take care of yourself and you'll get back on track once you are feeling better...health first!

@WifiresGettingFit my hip is feeling better, thank you! It's still a little sore, but much better than last week. I think I'll give it a few more days until it feels back to normal and then get back with squats/exercise.

    @Kirstie155 congrats on the loss!!

@pezhed do not beat yourself up! birthdays only come once a year and you should enjoy yourself! I hope you had a great time!!

@samlovesthesnow I'm sorry I got so distracted by the fact that you live in Bermuda I could barely read the rest of your post! But thanks for the encouragement regarding the birthday. It was mostly water weight and I more or less maintained. You are close to 155! It won't be long!

@jennamae102 glad to see your hip is feeling better! Thanks for the kind words :)

@WifiresGettingFit You're getting so close to your end of Feb goal! Good job!

@jennamae102 I hear you on the overindulgence. The good thing is that it goes away pretty quickly when it's just from a few days!

    Feb 1st: 134.2
    Feb 15th: 132.0
    Feb 28th GOAL: 129.6

Not quite halfway there like I should be but hoping I can lose 2.4 in 2 weeks.

    2/10 - 167.5 (-1)
    2/17 - 167 (-0.5)

I was happy to see a loss this morning, I was not expecting that! I don't think I'll hit my goal weight for the month, but I'm still going in the right direction!

My hip feels pretty much back to normal so I will try to get some exercise in this week and stick much more closely to my calorie goal every day!

@jennamae102 Congrats on the loss and glad your hip is feeling better!
@krizaten33 glad you're on the mend! And congrats on the loss!
@samlovesthesnow wow you've lost 6 lbs already this month! Great loss!

You guys were right and all of my birthday weight fell off this week! I think it helped that my period ended. So I'm now only 1 lb from my end of February goal!

Happy Friday! I'm excited for this weekend because we're dog sitting for two friends so it's going to be a huge puppy party at our house! It kind of makes me feel less bad for not being invited to go on their huge group trip I guess. And I have Monday off for Presidents' Day. I'm hoping to hike and climb this weekend. The weather is so unseasonably warm! Usually we'd be cross country skiing, or at least downhill skiing, but the mountains are a total slushfest right now. Anyone have any exciting plans?

Forewarning, this is totally a first world problem but I just need to vent for a minute!

We invited my sister-in-law & her BF over for dinner yesterday. I decided to make it my "cheat" day for the week. I made a pretty healthy dinner (stuffed pork chops & salad) but indulged in cheese & crackers and dessert as well as a few drinks. No big deal.

My husband also invited his grandparents over to see our house. We moved in about 5 months ago but they only saw it right after we closed, so no furniture or anything. They are Italian and in their 80s so to them, everything is about food. His grandmother is a food pusher and even when you go over to their house she tries to get you to take food with you (here take this jar of peanut butter, I don't need it). So she brings over: an entire tray of baked clams, a giant plate of foccia bread, a pound of roast beef with au jus and a large baguette, multiple containers of strawberries, & a large pack of prosciutto. I know its just how she is and how she expresses love, but damn I don't need all of this food in my house! I was already bummed about over indulging last week and was ready to start back more diligently tracking every day this week. So, food today and tomorrow needs to be what she brought over so that we can eat it and get it over with (yes its all delicious stuff, like I said first world problem) and I'll try to eat smaller portions so I don't completely blow my week. But ugh when you are working hard to count calories and have a fridge full of healthy stuff and meals planned out its just frustrating!!

Okay, vent over ....I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!!

@jennamae102 is there a friend or neighbour you could invite over to help you eat the food faster? Hehe.

My mom is also a food pusher but since 2 of her children plus one daughter in law did Weight Watchers, she has actually switched at lot of the food she brings over to fruits and veggies. So I appreciate that. But whenever we go to my mom's house, it's really hard to turn down all the food (and drinks) she offers haha. So I totally understand! Plus there's sometimes the added feeling.. that little voice in your head that sadly asks "was the food I made not good enough?" even though that's never how the food pusher person means it.

haha @verykatie after they left I asked my husband, "Does she think that I don't cook?" because its just strange to me to show up at someone's house with that much food! But, he says, no thats just how she is. I've gotten more used to eating at her house...you have to say yes to something or else she won't stop asking you to eat the entire time you are there. When you eat just a little bit or a "normal" portion she asks why you aren't eating more. When I try to explain that I am trying to lose weight and I don't want a giant bowl of pasta, she doesn't really understand.

But anyway, after being irritated by it yesterday I realized this is just part of life, especially with his family. I need to be able to fit this sort of thing into life during and after weightloss. So, I will eat the food and try not to pig out and get in extra exercise this week to make up for it. We're having unseasonably warm weather in Chicago, so I will get up at lunch every day and go walking for 30 minutes or so at least and try to get in a few DVDs.

Jenna, I know how you feel. Food pushers are the worst. Just eat the cake, just try a bite. One wont hurt. No, one wont. But one plus one plus one plus one plus one...lol. Good plan going for extra walks!

So I just realized this year is not a leap year again hahaha. So our last weigh in on Feb "29" is actually March 1. So please use the same weight for the last weigh in this month as you do for your sign up weigh in on the March sheet (however the sheets won't be available at the same time since I'm too lazy to make a copy for March... I usually just empty out the old one haha).

I will probably change the sheet over either late on March 1 or on March 2 (Central time), so just remember your numbers please. It's weird when there are no days in between. If I change it over and you still haven't entered your data, you can PM me what you want me to put into the records sheet and I'll make sure it gets there!

@jennamae102 I have an Aunt that thinks I'm starving myself anytime I turn down her (nonstop) food offers (as soon as I walk in the door) so I get it. (I eventually told her not very politely to cut that crap out.) I am not saying it's easy and it certainly does suck but just look at it like extra practice on portion control and just remind yourself that you do have control! You can only control what you do and how you handle things. (I know you wrote that days ago but I'm late to the party. haha)

    @VeryKatie Will do!

    Weigh In:

    Feb 1st: 200.8
    Feb 8th: 205.8
    Feb 15th: 198.8
    Feb 22nd: 201.6

My weight has been a roller coaster on the scale. I'll be up four pounds, down four pounds, up four pounds, up a pound then down 5 pounds. haha At this point, I do not actually see me reaching my end of February goal just because of the insane fluctuations. It, of course, also doesn't help that I spent five days eating like a small elephant. Still trudging along though as always. =P

    Goal:

    Feb 28th: 197.8

@WifiresGettingFit My weight can really swing around too (or it did before anyway). I actually use another site called Weight Grapher which gives a 10 day trend instead. It helps as then I can see if my weight is going up, down, or staying the same a bit better:

EDIT: Well just got done adding all my weight data so far for this year and right now it appears as though I am trending up. (not really surprised haha) So gotta get that going back in the right direction.

    oooh, signing up!

Thanks for sharing this Katie! Just imported my weights and it is easy to see the overall down ward trend :) Even though Im losing slower than I'd like, I am down 15 pounds from right after my vacation in December-and that is great! Sometimes its hard to see the overall when you're busy looking at that .2# increase everyday! Im up from last week (195# today when I was hoping to be 192) but trending down. Yay!
