I got some looks when went to an Italian Restaurant with a bunch of co workers...Our annual winter gathering. I ordered the Seafood mix that was supposed to go on Linguine... but asked them to put it on a bed of spinach or arugula instead. She tried to tell me she couldn't do that as it's already made... and told her... well I'm pretty sure the pasta isn't in the seafood sauce already... all I'm asking for is instead of putting pasta on the plate put a couple handfuls of spinach. then put the seafood sauce on top of it. The light bulb finally went on...she said ohhh sub the linguine for spinach. Heehee... she never got that request before in Santa Clara, CA. Interesting...and when she brought it...everyone around was like wow that looks good... I didn't see it on the menu. :-) She said even the cook thought it looked good... maybe they will try to incorporate low carb alternatives. I think the more folks ask for low carb substitutes it's building awareness and we will get less of those looks. :-)5

A couple of days ago I was at A&W and on the tray liner was their nutrition data chart for all their menu items. Part way down on the list was the "lettuce wrapped Teen Burger" in all it's lower carb glory
Unfortunately they just lately decided to scrap their yummy Caesar salad for stupid KFC-type choices like coleslaw, macaroni salad, and potato salad. Now I'll just have to order a lot of extra lettuce and pickles on the side.2
