3 year long plateau

Hi, new to the group. I'm a 38 yr old mom to 2 young kiddos. 5'3, current 140. Pre-babies, I was at 125. I've been stuck between 138-140lbs for way too long. Just looking to shed 10 pounds, and get healthier overall, so I am trying low carb again. I also started yoga this week.
Looking for friends and support/advice, feel free to add me.

Hi and welcome! You'll find a full range of LC'ers here, from Keto to Slow Low Carb. Its a great group! I'm 40 years young with 2 young boys. I'm fun sized at 4'11 and 155 lbs (down 30 from May) Im really only 15 lbs from my personal goal. I know charts say I SHOULD be smaller, but I do not like being smaller than 135-140. I do Zumba, and kettleball. I would like to try PIYO which people say is like intense yoga but I haven't tried it yet. I will send you a friend request0

Thanks! I have done low carb in the past and it really helped me after I had my first child. Recently I have just gotten down the path of too much snacking, chips, popcorn, cookies, ice cream - all those things my husband and kids love.
I think we all have the ideal weight that we feel most comfortable in, whether or not it's within the "range on the chart". By no means do I want to be a size 3 again, a but 5-10 pound loss I would be pretty happy with. Thanks for the request!0 -
@genmon00 Fun Sized made me giggle. I have a full 12 inches on you.
I totally agree with you @hawilliams78 that it's what is comfortable. As a 5"11 female my "recommended" wight is some where between 135-175 and let me tell you, the last time I saw 135 I think I was 10. I do have a weight goal in mind but It is more about what I can do/want to do/clothing size etc.
Everyone has said I should do yoga "I'd love it!!" But all I can picture is Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta in the movie Perfect with their shiny unitards....and I'm so mature.....a room that smells like fart.

@mmultanen HAHAHAHA not a good mental picture!0

That movie makes it really difficult to work out in a group setting without getting the giggles.0

@mmultanen OMG I forgot about that movie lol. Seriously though, I downloaded this yoga app and it's pretty cool. I work from home so I do it on my breaks/lunch right in my office. And wow I have learned how not flexible I am. Hopefully that will change!0

@hawilliams78 - Mental note- 3 years isn't a plateau, that's maintenance.
That's a good thing, because that means your body likely views that as your upper limit. And remember that 5-10 pounds on the scale can really mean next to nothing. Some folks can fluctuate that much in water weight changes during the day alone.
Also, read these articles - in particular the pictures near the end of the first article and the beginning to middle of the second one. She actually fit smaller clothing and weighed MORE due to a better physique! Scale definitely is not everything. (Found a few more of the SCALE SUCKS type posts that I love!!!)
