It sounds like an insulin dosing issue if you're running such high levels when you eat too many carbs.

Even if you only OD on carbs oncw a year, knowing how to go about adjusting your insulin would still be great knowledge to have.

    Hmm. What were you expecting?

Could be some travel stress also influencing your BG...

I didn't know what to expect. Probably more post surgical stress than travel...

I've had as low as 88 and high of 237 in the last week.... high days are fewer and far between now. Thanks for asking. Last night was 147 night before 130. I'm trying.

100 before bed. Sounds good. But I was at 213 before lunch and found that I forgot my Humolog pen at,home. BY the time I got home I was at 302. This required 8 units. Definitely an off day for me.

Looks like you're figuring out how to fix those highs with humalog when necessary. I remember forgetting my humalog pen a few times back in Jan/Feb/Mar when I wasn't all that use to taking it with me, then stopping for a bite to eat, take in a movie, etc and get back home (& forgetting to check BG also) and finally remembering it and seeing that BG of 300 or more on the meter (but feeling just fine) and needing to crank up the humalog dose to bring it back down again before bed.

The endo have me a sliding scale to use for taking the Humolog before meals....i don't have to use any until I get over 121...
