@Just_Ceci , Hope you traveled to the NORTHERN part of Texas because with the hurricane moving in it may get a quite dangerous! Never been through one & I hope I never will!!

I am in Southeast Texas, but far enough inland that we only get a lot of rain. Might end up without power too. I've been through a few including Allison and Ike which were no fun at all.

    8/25 15.96 miles

The final year of teaching is so strange when a life has been devoted to one's students. I would say enjoy each final parents evening, concert etc as a job well done and look forward to the plans you have made for this time next year.

The bills from the gift from Mr Stray Dog >:) are rolling in. So my July was totally ruined, which ticked me off, and I am still ticked off now. I have medical bills (again), no one to go after so I got to eat them, riding like a fiend even though my forearm is still messed up and stressed out. One thing about cycling, I get a real break from all this, I even forget the pain for a couple hours. Oh how good it feels to vent all this stuff bottled up inside :):D:):D

Good thoughts and <hugs> to all our Texas area friends dealing with the hurricane, stay safe

@sussexbythesea : You are absolutely right Chris. I am taking lots of photos. Even now some of it feels odd. Sitting at meetings talking about curriculum review and what is down the road makes me glad I am done. I will miss the teaching aspect but I am going to help out with our city's annual kids marathon. It will be fun and different.

@Glad you are safe Just_Ceci. My friend is northwest of Houston.

I live in Oregon and it's going to be 95-100 degrees for at least a week and that, along with smokey skies from forest fires, means going out early in the mornings to exercise. My prayers and good thoughts to the people in Texas dealing with the hurricane, rain, and its aftermath.

I'm dragging this out. 1 whole mile. Today's intent to walk/run turned into me cleaning my kitchen. Long overdue.
