Well I will do my best to get good pics for the group of the eclipse tomorrow. as I am in the path of totality. But Oregon being Oregon are saying cloudy. It better not after all the crap we residents have had to put up with this last month!
08/15 - 24.0 miles cycling (a beautiful morning, but only 49F at 0645 tis morning. smoke gone, just a pretty morning)
08/16 - 23.0 miles cycling (a 6AM start, was very nice, but quite nippy, feeling like a Fall morning, not Summer)
08/17 - 23.0 miles cycling (a 0530 start, cloudy, cold & headwinds. Don't like the triple threat)
08/18 - 23.0 miles cycling (a 0600 start, unbelievably pleasant ride, 'til 8 AM, when the Friday idiot drivers came out)
08/19 - 23.0 miles cycling (got out before 6, trying to get off the road before 8am, the eclipse traffic is terrible)
08/20 - 23.0 miles cycling (out by 0630 done by 0845, it was cold today, partial sun, but cold)
Total: 421.0 miles

Just_Ceci: Awesome job on the long ride and well done on fundraising for such a great cause. You rocked it girl!
Aug 19 and 20: Adding 28 miles of walking 15 miles and cycling 10 and running 3 miles. GIP was a big success. We also made over $900 from our plant sale and donations. People really appreciated the gardens. We had people vote on their favorite plant. One woman brought a pair of scissors and was cutting an arrangement. When someone stopped her, she said the newspaper said to come and pick your favorite plant.

Busy, busy week. I need to get going a few minutes earlier each day so I can get in here and let you know how I am doing (or not doing as the case may be ). I have been adding a few miles anyway.
Added 11 miles for an August total of 49.75 miles.
Great Job everyone. Here's hoping I will make my own goal this month.

@JUST_CECI - Great job on both the distance and the donations!! :drinker:
@CLEPANT - Some people, I tell you!! That REALLY takes a lot of nerve to go somewhere and just start cutting someone else's work without even asking!!
@LISAH8969 - Glad you're enjoying the clips!
@ANACONDA469 - Good luck with the cloud cover today! I'm not in the path of totality here in MN, but the sky is expected to be somewhat clear up until around 2pm locally so crossing my fingers for both of us!
Hope you all have a great Monday and remember...

@Dave, Your Note To Self is telling on me..... but my right heel has been soooo sore that I haven't put in any miles since last week on Wednesday (2.5miles)! I quit the pills prescribed to me for inflammation cuz they were burning my stomach up. I think the stomach burn is worse than the heel pain! I'm going to TRY staying off of it till September just to see "IF" it improves! Might get on the ex bike some but NO walking or jogging!

@vhuber: Sorry to hear the heel is still giving you so much pain. I had such high hopes for the Protalis. Remember that they guarantee a 90 day money back. Keeping you in prayer.
@Dave: I think the flower thing was a bit funny. After teaching Asperger kids for many years, I have learned that wording has to be very clear. I told students to hop to it once and a boy did exactly that.My colleague told them to hit the door running and several ran in the room hitting the door. Our chairperson should have said come and vote for your favorite plant...lol.
Got my dad's welding helmet and we saw the eclipse reach 81 percent. It will be just north of us in Erie PA in 8-4-24. If Korea hasn't started WW3, perhaps we may see a full one then.
Aug. 21: Adding 15 miles of walking 6 and cycling 9 today.

And that's GOAL for @2ESSIE and @LOVEMYALEX!! :drinker:
@VHUBER - I sure wouldn't want you to try to do too much while your foot is healing! That will just drag out your recovery. I believe the point of that meme was a combination of patience coupled with determination. You don't have to do it all right now, but do what you can and keep moving forward as best you can. :flowerforyou:
@CLEPANT - Very true...and funnyI And I know all too well how literal they can be sometimes! My 20-yr old is an Aspie (but you'd hardly know it now) and also my girlfriend's 17-yr old son. He's definitely lives in the more black & white world and really struggles with shades of gray when it comes to language, rules, emotions....each new day is an interesting adventure.

**** Thanks Dave for the note to oneself.... I believe in that whole heartedly ....
**** @VHUBER ...... I have been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis .... For the last 4 months.... Just hang in there it will evenly go away.... This is nothing compared with knee replacement.... We are stronger than we think .... Keep moving ....2 -

We got the clear weather yesterday. I have lots of pics I haven't uploaded from my phone & camera yet, but I am attaching one. This is how dark it got at totality and I was located dead center of the zone. In the background of the pic you can see the smoke from the Cascade mountains fires thats headed our way (smoke got here this morning) but an awesome event, temp dropped 10 degrees from 2/3 coverage til 2/3 reappearance. We were just north of Salem.
08/21 - 02.0 miles rest day walk (hanging out in a farmers field for the Great American Eclipse 2017)
Total: 423.0 miles
08/22 - 23.0 miles cycling (a smokey, hazy early morning ride. The traffic sucked by 7AM)
Total: 446.0 miles
The darkness was so awesome
In goofy glasses, thats how bright and sunny the day was til the sun went away
