Chris I am imagining a family full of educators. With DDD and Nick's career choices.......well you can see where I was headed. And a little cold will never stop you.
Clara that is a great idea. Revive the practice. It is important to remember our loved ones.
I forgot to weigh in this morning. But we did catch another mouse.I hope that is the last one that Sara brings in this year. I think they all are hiding for the winter. Silly kitty.

Clara, you and I posted about the same time this morning. I just saw your post. I change up the flowers at Nick's niche every weekend. All of us meet October 16th and then on his birthday, November 29th and celebrate both of those days. Today was a good day.
Shelley, yeah, and it's crazy when both your kids are way smarter than you are.
We walked this morning and it was pretty nice when we got out there. Big difference an hour can make. No wind today. We did smell smoke late in the afternoon. I don't know what that means though. DDD will have school tomorrow. Her district shut the schools down last Thursday and Friday. She was off today but her school was on.
Glad about your mouse, Shelley. Don't want your house to turn into a Mouse House.

Paula I joined Livermorny again. I thought why not? In for a dollar........
Shelley0 -
Okay, I'll rejoin, too. I sent you a msg before I saw this reply.

Chris,
you always make me tear up Glad you had a good day.
Paula1 -
I have a sign on my desk that says...Don't cry because he's gone, smile because he was here.
You are going to rejoin, right Paula.
Chris1 -
Walked w/DH this morning. We are meeting w/our trainer around 4:30 this afternoon. Picking up R&B in about 10 mins.
Have a great day, my friends!
Chris1 -
Worked today. Walked the halls and then covered the county commissioner meeting.
Paula please join. You are so witty on it. You make me laugh and smile.

Shelley, Paula texted "guess I hafta...silly girlz!" so she's signing up again too. YAY!!!
143.6 at 6:00 this morning. My shoulder really hurts. Getting grief from my new doctor about the meds she prescribed. Going through the same crap I went through last time I reordered. Now I'm questioning myself about switching to her. ...wonder if I can go back to my old doctor...hmmmm.
Got to sleep ion another hour this morning. Walking w/DH in a bit then p/u R&B then meeting w/our trainer for some strength training then...nothing!!!!
Chris0 -
So glad Paula is in again. Let's make it fun.
I like the part about nothing above Chris. If your old doctor seems more appealing by all means switch back. Better than being in pain.
Holding steady again, 150.

142.6 at 7:00 this morning. When the alarm goes off and DH says..."Day off?" you get to sleep until 7:00!!! Nice!
So no walking today, but DDD and I meet w/our trainer at 4:30.
Shelley, you might be right. I go into the doctor so seldom that I'm angry that I didn't get the attention I thought I should. She give me a script of Tramadol tells me to take it every 8 hours as needed for pain. I take it every 8 hours because the pain never goes away but is manageable...I tell her this...when I need it refilled, because I only have 10 days worth of pills, she denies it. I email her explaining I wanted it mailed to me, and I only have 2 days left...it's not going to make it here in time...She approves it then tells me it's a scheduled drug ( it's a schedule 4 drug) and can be addicting and I would become used to it so it wouldn't work any more, so to take it sparingly to make the script last longer and to use ibuprofen also...SURE WISH I'D KNOWN THAT IN THE BEGINNING!!! I knew the addiction and getting used to it part, but not that I could take ibuprofen also!! **sigh** I'm okay. Thanks for listening.
SIL has been hires as a personal trainer a a different gym in town. Our walking is going to change up again. We'll see what happens.
Thank you all for being here.

That last post should have read...SIL has been hired as a personal trainer at a different gym in town.
142.6 at 6:00 this morning. I'm pretty stoked about that!! Maybe tomorrow will be the same. We'll see.
We walked this morning...a bit chilly. I think we will be getting out there an hour later for a while. Walking out the door at 6:30 is too dark and cold for me. I don't get as much done after we are finished and before we pick up R&B, but I'm okay with that. It would be nice if SIL didn't have to go in until noon each day, but I think that's asking too much.
Hope everyone has a good day.

144.0 at 5:00 this morning. So much for the excitement of 142.6 and so much for the excitement of sleeping in until 6:00 or 7:00. BUT...it's going to be a wonderful Saturday!!! A crisp, cold, heavy jacket walk coming up. Then a 60 minute killer strength workout to warm me up...then...a nap!
bwahahahah!
Chris0 -
I had a doctor that was so bad he was fired from the clinic he worked at. I used to think they were all just great. Demi gods even. Not anymore. To many just think about the green back and not their patients
You will get that 142 again. I know you will come up with a new schedule for your workouts. I did not realize your SIL was a trainer. Very kewl. Hey Chris I got Netflix. Look at me getting caught up with technologies. Rocky and I have started working out together.
Hope you had a great Saturday.

Shelley, SIL just started as a trainer. Just got his certification. He's trained rugby players for a very long time, so that's a plus for him. The first gym he was in was terrible. Hopefully, this new gym will be better. Hasn't got his schedule yet, that's why we are still able to walk in the morning. We have a girl trainer who has been doing it for 15 years. We'll stay with her.
144.6 this morning...egad!! Maybe the workout yesterday?? **sigh** Well, I'll just keep working on it. We're walking in the dark, cold morning again. DH loves it. Not my favorite...I love sunshine!
We'll have R&B for a couple of hours later today. DDD is going to a 'wine and paint' afternoon w/her girlfriends. SIL is hanging w/husbands. They'll have fun and we'll have the little one!
Have a terrific Sunday, my friends.
Chris1 -
Sorry, off the grid in la-la land.
165 this morning, need to stomp down on night nibbling.
A neighbor organized a community project day to help us landsliders tarp our yards to get the water out of the landslide area. A couple dozen people showed up. Some kids that I thought were teenagers turned out to be a married couple and sister in their 30s. They live 40 miles away and thought it'd be something good to do! Yegads, tears of appreciation.
The serious kind of workout you don't realize until your body starts hurting.
Joining you in naptime now,
Paula1 -
Chris I like that you are keeping hour trainer. They do wine and paints here also. Congratulations to your SIL.
Paula they all look so young time also. I bet them 80 something's think we are 30 something. Lol
Went to the movies today. Saw a preview for a new Jumangi. Looks fun.

143.8 this morning at 6:00. Talked DH into another hour of sleep...wasn't too hard!
Don't like walking in the dark.
P/U R&B at 1:00 this afternoon...keeping them until 4:30 when DDD gets here for our yoga workout. DH will watch him. SIL going to play rugby w/friends or he's coaching it...don't know for sure. We find out his gym schedule tomorrow.
Have a great Monday, my friends.

Hello ladies. It's been a rough couple of months dealing with a friend and his health issue as well as a family member and her health issue. Also, work has been crazy busy and continues to be that way.
My 40 something niece was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was originally stage 0. She had a mastectomy in August. When she followed up a few weeks later they found additional cancer cells and recommended chemo and they now consider it stage 1. She started her treatment 2 weeks ago and is doing well. The family has stepped up to help her and her husband. They have 5 kids ranging in age from 2-17. She is also an elementary teacher. Her attitude is great and with prayer we know she will be okay. She will have 12 treatments.
My dear friend Phillip was an older gentleman who I met at work and we became really good friends. We even traveled together with a group of coworkers. He was a little older than the rest of us but we always included him and he loved to hang out with us "young folks". After he retired we kept in touch and talked a couple a days a week. He started to have health issues and I would go to his doctors appointments as he had hearing issues and didn't have family here. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in September. It was stage 4 as it had moved to his liver and lungs. It progressed really fast and he passed away on October 10th. I was with him when he made his transition. I will always miss my friend as he was a selfless, gracious man.
Needless to say it's been a rough couple of months and I haven't taken very good care of myself. But it's time to get back to me and this journey. I haven't been on a scale for a while but know it's time. I know I've gained just not sure how much. I'm going to get on the scale in the morning.
Ron had been wonderful and very supportive. We are going on a vacation To Mexico in November for a week and believe me I can't wait. I've missed you guys and will try to catch up on some of your posts. I hope everyone is well and your journey is going great!
Sorry this is so long but I wanted you to know what's been going on in my life.

Oh Kathy so sorry for your loss. He was lucky to have you. Your niece is in my prayers. I am sure I would not take it as well as she is doing. Family does make all the difference. I hope her children are doing well. Has to be hard on them and her husband also. Hugs.
Shelley0 -
196.2 this morning. The work begins...I actually thought it might be more.1

I'm sorry about your niece and your friend. Cancer is horrible. Sending good thoughts for your niece and her family.
Ron is a keeper. You'll have a blast in Mexico.
143.4 this morning at 6:00. I'll take it.
Walking this morning w/DH in the sunshine. Picking up R&B around 1:00 this afternoon.
Chris0 -
Kathy and Chris you two keep up the good work.
No workout for me tonight. Going to a dentist appointment to talk with them about getting an implant, or two.Small fortune is what it is all about. Now if I had only flossed more as a little kid! My teeth are really tight and I did not learn about floss until I was in high school. I carry a floss pick now everywhere I go.
Shell0 -
163.3 - locking it down.
Kathy my heart is with you. My sister was also diagnosed last month with cancer - it has not spread and she is having radiation, but does not need chemo. I pray your niece is fine soon. It is so beat-able nowadays!
We were with my husband's mother when she died this summer. It is so heart-rendering. You are such an amazing person to make sure your friend was not alone. Bless you!Paula

Chris, I knew exactly what you meant when you said "a a different" - I love people who can speak short talk and not need their sentences finished. It is so helpful when a word won't come out right!
Shell, I carry floss picks too. Teeth that are so tight they shred floss (like ours) are one of my pet peeves. If a dentist is going to put a cap on a tooth, you'd think he'd take that into consideration.
Sisters all,
