New Keto-er - What the heck do I order at Starbucks? HELP!!

HaHa. While I know this question may seem a little ridiculous,I'm serious for sure. I'm only on Day 3 and it just hit me that I have NO idea how I'm going to not get my Starbucks fix. I am doing the bulletproof coffee, but on the real I'mnot a fan of just plain coffee or espresso. My go to drinks at Starbucks are Soy Caramel Macchiato, Soy Chai Latte and the best Caramel Brulee Latte (which comes back Nov 1st...eeeek!). Do I have any options there that I can actually get?

These 2 sites seems to have some good suggestions:

I usually get plain coffee and add one of their sugar free syrups for flavor and half and half. I’m sure there are better options, but it works for me. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that your Caramel Brûlée Latte is going to have to be just a treat and not an every day or weekly thing.1
-
Yes the Caramel Brulee is FOR SURE not going to be a norm, but its so good! I look forward to it every year around the holidays. Ha. I was wondering about the sugar free syrups...I thought we should avoid sugar free things? I could probably so the coffee with the half and half and then a SF syrup.0

Well I don't do artificial sweeteners so I can't do any of their syrups but if you are ok with them that opens a lot more options to you.
Personally my usual order is a Venti iced Americano with heavy cream and extra ice. For hot drinks I like a quad espresso macchiato with heavy cream, extra foam. I just finished one now actually! You can also get cinnamon, cocoa powder, pumpkin spice, or sea salt on top which adds some flavor but isn't carby like the syrups.
*felt I should add an espresso macchiato is not like a caramel macchiato. It is espresso "marked" with steamed milk (or heavy cream in my case). So I'd you to get it thinking it's going to be like a caramel macchiato which is basically an upside down vanilla latte with caramel sauce. Totally different. This will come in a tiny cup because it's just espresso and a touch of cream.3 -
I do iced coffee with heavy cream or almond milk latte (lower fat, but lower carbs too). Sometimes I do a sugar free syrup if I'm feeling fancy.1

Wait--the pumpkin spice doesn't have sugar in it? I thought I looked it up last year, but now that I think about it, that was the holiday spice, which definitely has sugar in it.
I usually order an Americano with heavy cream, but sugar-free syrups sometimes bother me, so I try to avoid them. Plus I just like the taste of coffee.2 -
Ok some of these things may work for me! I just have to get used to drinking them and enjoy them. As long as I have options I think I'm good, but I'm pretty sure if I had to give up Starbucks AND wine I'd just rather be fat. I used to drink sweet wine, but have transitioned over to drier wines over the past 6-7 months so yay! And I can still enjoy cheese with my wine as well.1

I usually get a plain americano...sometimes I add heavy whipping cream or coconut milk...you can do the same with the iced coffee...and depending on the store they may have a variety of sugar-free syrups you can add...our store at work only has sugar-free vanilla, but many of them also have caramel, mocha, and seasonal flavors in sugar-free varieties...they also have toppings like cinnamon or cocoa powder that you can sprinkle on your coffee.1

A PSL definitely does, but she's referring to actual spice pumpkin spice, not the flavored syrup:

Yep! It's literally just the spices sprinkled on top0 -
You'll have to forgive me; I'm one of these die-hard Italian women that simply CANNOT understand the attraction of all these convoluted, corrupted and frankly, over-made, over-blown (in my opinion) disgusting embellished so-called 'coffees' that are available through these outlets.
If I want a coffee, I just want a coffee. If I want an espresso, I want an espresso - that is, no more than three-quarters-of-an-inch of strong black coffee, in a small porcelain cup. If I want a macchiato, I want an espresso with a spoonful of milk foam on the top.
Forget the fancy caramel, whipped cream, sprinklins, toffee, syrups and marshmallows and any other 'porcheria' these establishments insist on adding, while still daring to call them Italian names...!
Davvero...?!
WTF is wrong with a simple cup of coffee and some milk - ?!
And before anyone leaps down my throat defensively, I actually know I'm representing a nation of actually true, authentic Italian 'Baristas' who actually attend catering college for some considerable time to qualify for the title, and who cannot for the life of them either understand or condone such shenanigans. They take deep offense at the bastardization of Italy's national drink, and why shouldn't they?
Just as cultural appropriation is frowned upon - so, let me tell you, is this.
Wouldn't it be dreadful if Italians made burgers and claimed to make them better and more attractively than Americans? Can't be done!
Ok, I'm done now. Finito.
Thank you for your time.12 -
@AlexandraCarlyle, sí puo incontrare non solamente americani negli Starbucks in Italia... Hmm?0
-
Just make sure whatever you get, if it's one of the regular menu items, to ask for No Classic. Apparently they are trained to add a classic sugar syrup to their drinks.1
-
I get a cold brew with sugar free vanilla and heavy cream. Or if I want something hot, I'll get an Americano with sugar free vanilla and heavy cream. Both are delish. I used to love iced soy mochas and iced soy caramel machiattos, but these are both super creamy and delish and I enjoy them a lot.1

Si, ma non vuol dire che e universalmente popolare.... e i Baristi sono sempre incavolati!
I think their main 'lament' is 'se non e rotto, non aggiustarlo!"

LOL @AlexandraCarlyle. Your rant made me chuckle. Years ago I stopped by a Starbucks for a small black decaf and was in line behind 2 young girls (high school age probably) who were talking on their darn cell phone...with their young friends...discussing....at great length....every single menu item...trying to decide what they should order.
Needless to say, I don't do Starbucks much after that. Besides, it doesn't fit well with my general boycott of businesses that create highly, effectively engineered, palatable creations to entice the general population to eat/drink in excess.2 -
The other thing to add is that simply because Italians use it, doesn't justify the extreme creativity... there are people from all walks of life who don't like their country's speciality dishes, or some specific things.... my Italian cousin (who is not low-carb or carb-free) dislikes pasta... my British neighbour won't eat fish 'n; chips. And I bet (although we may not meet many here!) I would be willing to bet there are some who don't enjoy steak or burgers....
Simply because something is 'accepted' doesn't make it right....
Is really my point....1 -

Well bless you for that. I was fully expecting some of my FATP* to tear me a new one.
I should know better.... everyone on here is really nice!

I am just going to embrace that I am a classless American and enjoy what I enjoy. I like just espresso but if carbs weren't on my radar I would be ordering a peppermint white chocolate mocha and an eggnog latte the second the Starbuck's Christmas beverages were released and I have NO SHAME.
I'm very adventurous with my bunless burgers so if any country wants to find a fun modification on the standard I'm 100% down with that!6 -

Haha me too! White chocolate is my absolute all-time fave, but it has so much sugar. It is so delish though. I also like sweet wine like moscato....so classless I shall be. LoL.

I would NEVER dare to presume to call ANY American 'classless'. It would be a gauntlet-insult to do so, and I would never sink so low.
(Although my thoughts regarding some, are my own! )
And as for the bunless burger.... I tend to mix almond meal and ground chia/flax seeds with madly-beaten eggs, season and fry in 2 round egg-rings and then sandwich my home-made burgers in those... if I don't put cheese on the burger, I'll add grated cheese to the egg mix... fry some onion rings and add a crisp green salad with vinaigrette...
Hoping that's an acceptable attempt!3 -

Sounds acceptable to me other than the onion. I'm anti-onion. Of course I also order ranch dressing to dip my steak into so I'm not known for my refined palate. LOL

HAHAHA I am a lover of coffee and there is no Starbucks local to me... I view Starbucks as an occasional treat for the drive home when we go to the city. In fact, my daughter knows and literally asks, "are we stopping for dessert"... because that is exactly what it is. Dessert in a cup. Not coffee That being said, if I am going to have dessert in a cup, I prefer Starbucks, because the coffee is strong enough to have still a hint of it underneath the sweet...3 -
@AlexandraCarlyle ha. I do love your spunk! And your post brought a big smile to my face. But to each their own. I also am Italian and used to manage a Starbucks and also love the sugared up caramely drinks you so despise. So just as you say when you want an espresso, you order and espresso. When I want a sugar filled latte..then that's what I want. The great thing about humans is we are all different no matter our ethnic background. I'm pure Italian and still love starbucks. But then again I am an Italian that is on a Low Carb lifestyle so no pasta for me....How un-Italian as well.
I also don't really like tomato based sauce, so maybe I am a bad Italian. Bring on the Chicken Picccata and Tiramisu any day though..... YUMMMMMMMMY0 -
@BrownsFan19 you're a disgrace to the nation and I hereby excommunicate you forthwith! Oh, the shame!!
(I'm kidding. )1 -
@AlexandraCarlyle I accept your condemnation and fully accept that I am a disgrace!!
However I am an American Italian, so I like to stir the pot! My grandparents came from Italy. Us damn Americans always messing things up!0 -

But I truly admire her because she is a BrownsFan and wears it with pride . Thumbs up to that @BrownsFan19. ( @AlexandraCarlyle that is a NFL football reference)1 -
I have Starbucks just about every day because it's the only espresso they have downstairs at work...plus, I go there on the weekends sometimes because they always have non-dairy milks available, so if I want to splurge and have a latte, I can without getting sick later...most coffee places where I live are still dairy-only.1

And THAT'S another THING!! Football! Let me inform you... *tears off on a complete rant on whether it's rugby, football and the difference between football and soccer....!*4
