I do everything Sunday to Sunday, so this is my 1st-week wrapup.

    Water - 10 cups or more: 7/7
    Excercise every day: 7/7 (*)
    No plants / carnivore: 7/7
    Carbs 10g or less: 7/7
    Calories <= goal: 5/7
    Strict logging: 5/7

My appetite has spiked upwards on this meat-only experiment and I'm eating more than I had planned. My snacks have been more meat, but when they happen at inconvenient times I don't make the effort to get them in the food log. :frowning: And while I did excercise every day, several days were lighter than usual as I was recovering from some pulled muscles in last week's 5k run.

Hopefully the appetite issues will sort themselves out this week. And my legs are fully recovered now from last weekend's injuries.

    Gosh Darnit!
It's been madness. Soccer is finally over. And my dd15 just had a birthday. She had 2 friends over Saturday night, which meant I had to clean all day Friday. And then I took her and another friend shopping Sunday.

I'm still sleeping awful, and I'm a little achy (stupid Sjogren's joint pain). Sinus headache and sneezes this morning. Fall allergies are a joy.
I did my maintenance week, and I am sad to go back, but I have returned to a deficit until Thanksgiving at least.

Yes. I am a huge dork.

I am envious of your dorkiness! I wish I knew how to post fun and different little icons. Teach me, oh Dorky One!

    App or site?
The app makes everything harder, but if you are motivated you can manage it.

Using the app, you have to find a pic on the web you want and copy it's image/web address. You can then tap the little pic in the edit bar while posting and paste it there. That will paste the image address inside a tag called "img". To replicate that, highlight and copy that tagged line (which will hug the url with "img" and "/img" except the quotations will be replaced by brackets.) To steal images from others' posts, for example to steal my little trees, you have to quote the post they are in and then copy the tagged line, which will also begin/end with the "img" tag. Then you can highlight and copy the line and delete the rest of their post you don't want, and use the window to compose your post and paste the pic/icon where you want inside it.
    A right PITA. But doable.

The site is a load easier since you can have multiple tabs open, it's easier to c&p just about anything without having to jump through the aforementioned hoops, and it's easier to navigate in general.

Back to basics is what I need! Been off for a few months and now looking for a Keto reset. In fact, just read the book.

I have managed to get into keto the last couple of weeks and lost about 4 lbs so far. With the holidays coming up and a trip to my parents' over Thanksgiving - now is the time to get serious! I set my food journal up for 1600 calories per day, with 20 carbs and 80 protein. Trying to stick to that!

Would love to have the multiple year stretch that some folks have had - may this be my official kickoff! It gets so much harder to get back into keto and this time I really felt it as an "all over" body ache - yuck!! Not fun to go through that...

Tomorrow I have to go to a fancy schmancy restaurant for a business function of the husband’s. It’s one of those restaurants that makes weird stuff just cuz they can. So it’s a grab bag. At least the portions will be small. Very, very small.

I only ate about 400 cals in preparation for my dinner out. This restaurant changes its menu every couple of days—fresh, seasonal, locally sourced, yadda. Well apparently it was goose and venison week. Not really my thing.

I got what I can only describe as the world’s most expensive and tiniest portion of pot roast sans peas and carrots. Ate the meat, left the potatoes. Came home starving and ate a couple of slices of lunch meat. I’m reasonably sure I was way, way under calories for the day.

@baconslave, I am both charmed and repulsed by the dancing turkey.

I am disappointed with the lack of truly adorable Thanksgiving gifs to use. Le sigh...I'll make do, I guess.

    Small victory to report:

I started back in earnest Oct 1. I promised I wouldn’t weigh myself until my birthday (it’s on Saturday) because I didn’t want to start off feeling defeated. I just figured I’d give it my best shot for 6 weeks then deal with the number with some better habits formed.

This morning I woke up feeling weak and like crap. Ate breakfast (unusual) took salt and still felt crummy. Pulled up the menu for the local pizza delivery place. I went upstairs to get something, trying lamely to talk myself out of it. On impulse I grabbed the scale figuring if that didn’t scare me straight nothing would. Looked at the number with one squinty eye, then with both open in shock. I weighed in 10 pounds less than my most optimistic estimate. Body fat, muscle and visceral fat readings all down from the last time I weighed myself in mid July.

So, needless to say, no pizza for me. And I’m facing my next year from a very hopeful place. Long way to go, but I think I can make it. Thank you all for your support—it means the world to me.

    WAHOO!

I'd like to hear a little bit more about this no fruit/veggie/nuts way of eating. Why do people do that? How does that affect the body? I know our carbs are already less than 20/day, so I want to understand how this way of eating affects ketosis.

    Thank you.
    Jessica
I'm going to give carnivore another try this month too, at least a version of it that works for me. I'm aiming for the whole month with the exception of Thanksgiving. I'm going to stick with remembering my vitamins and handling put off household things from last month as well. I'll add more goals if I find something needs focused attention.

    November goals -
    Vitamins every day
    No veggies, fruits or nuts
    Average weekly steps 7000/day
    Finish UFOs (Unfinished Objects
    Lose 4 lbs.
