13.5 from the ex bike. Got my bachelor's house cleaned & am now packing, doing laundry & baking getting ready to take off for our family Christmas ski trip. Do we get mile from down hill skiing? LOL

The shopping trip was OK. The purpose of the trip was to get a gift for his mother, which is something he has not done before. This was a teaching day, he found out he had a budget of 40.00. His plan was to get a 5.00 gift for mom, then spend the rest on toys for himself. Lets just say his mom who is my real close friend has 2 real nice gifts & there was no money left. He threw a fit at first til I posed the question: Sam, how much does your mom do for you? Then he was OK with it. He also learned that wrapping gifts in plastic grocery bags with a sheet of tissue wasn't going to work either. All in all, I survived the expedition and Sam is wiser now.

Chris I'm glad you found motivation. I've got 100 miles to go to hit 3000 miles ridden for the year and I just can't get my motivation going to get back on the bike. I've really come to hate the holidays.

@K80FLEC - Yes! The bike is back home in my garage and 100% repaired. Looks like new again too! Now I just have to wait 3-4 more months to ride it again...

@KAR328 - That does seem to be true that personal trainers usually have a little sadistic streak in them...the good ones anyway. But that's kinda funny that she runs in the opposite direction!

@ANACONDA469 - Good for you for taking that young man shopping and helping to teach him some life lessons. It should be easier for him going forward too. :)

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it and also a wonderful New Year!!

    Dave

I couldn’t decide on which one so you get them all.

@ Dean: I feel the same about the holidays too. But I have just stopped all the shopping, decorating, etc and focus on the true meaning of Christmas and try to give back. It has changed my entire perspective on things.

@Susan: What a wonderful thing you did with this young man. A lesson well learned.
@ Dave: Thanks for all the light show.

Thanks, Dean! I'm just glad I like to walk. I haven't been back on the stationary bike in sooo long. Can't believe I used to do that every day after walking...by myself! I've walked w/DH for such a long time now that walking by myself doesn't seem as much fun. DDD is off school for Winter Break, so we won't have our grandson this next week. DH's knee is better, so no excuses from now until the end of the year! :D

Adding 16 miles for 112 out of 151. Thank goodness for Zwift. Riding indoors can be a real chore at times. Zwift helps.

Dang it!! Just lost a long a long post!! Read where Deans area received lot's of snow. Where we are going skiing some roads are closed & advisory's are out. My dog sitter is snowed in so have to make other plans for my fur babies since the rental have a no pets rule. I sorta have a cold & am feeling apprehensive about skiing.
I got in 7 from ex bike before we left this morning & 1 mile walking the dogs in lots of snow. The New Foundland mix LOVES snow but the Schnauzer not so much! LOL
