Good luck Susan. Keeping fingers crossed that your shopping excursion goes well.
Today a second grade boy decided that he would tell all the other second graders on his bus that there is no Santa because he overheard fourth and fifth graders saying it. Of only that, but that he chopped up his elf on a shelf. Meanwhile his mother tells me he does not even have an elf on the shelf. He had one girl crying and another boy punched him in the back because of it. I wonder if I could make him into a bus hood ornament.
Adding 13miles of walking for 10and running for 3 miles.

@anaconda469 - hope your shopping expedition was a positive experience for both you and the young person.
@clepant - as long as it’s tasteful, I don’t see why not. Hood ornaments do need to be classy though!
@Dave - happy holidays, a well earned break I’m sure. By the way ... is your bike sorted?
Tonight I did a short loop to support a running club member. He’s running for an epic 24 hours in 2.13 mile loops to raise awareness and money for Bowel Cancer research. I joined him for hour 12, along with half a dozen other members of the running club. People have been dipping in and out all day.... I suspect the early hours of tomorrow morning will be the hardest.

LOL a little truth there. This one is also my personal trainer and knows how i feel about running (we do go to 5Ks together actually). She will run in the opposite direction when we're on the track because she gets a kick out of seeing our faces.
Adding 1.5 miles finally.

The shopping trip was OK. The purpose of the trip was to get a gift for his mother, which is something he has not done before. This was a teaching day, he found out he had a budget of 40.00. His plan was to get a 5.00 gift for mom, then spend the rest on toys for himself. Lets just say his mom who is my real close friend has 2 real nice gifts & there was no money left. He threw a fit at first til I posed the question: Sam, how much does your mom do for you? Then he was OK with it. He also learned that wrapping gifts in plastic grocery bags with a sheet of tissue wasn't going to work either. All in all, I survived the expedition and Sam is wiser now.

Chris I'm glad you found motivation. I've got 100 miles to go to hit 3000 miles ridden for the year and I just can't get my motivation going to get back on the bike. I've really come to hate the holidays.1

@K80FLEC - Yes! The bike is back home in my garage and 100% repaired. Looks like new again too! Now I just have to wait 3-4 more months to ride it again...
@KAR328 - That does seem to be true that personal trainers usually have a little sadistic streak in them...the good ones anyway. But that's kinda funny that she runs in the opposite direction!
@ANACONDA469 - Good for you for taking that young man shopping and helping to teach him some life lessons. It should be easier for him going forward too.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it and also a wonderful New Year!!
Dave
I couldn’t decide on which one so you get them all.2 -

@Dave - and I love your gifs too.1
