I decided to put this up early so everyone can think about it a bit. Lets post our resolutions here. And then check back with them to see how far we have come to achieve them.

I'm trying (unsuccessfully so far) to get back on a weekly workout regimen.

I'm trying (unsuccessfully so far) to stay away from salt and trigger foods.

I want to be down to 138 by my birthday in March. That's 8 or 9 pounds in 10 weeks. Don't think it's possible. We'll see.

Clara that is awesome. You got this. A goal is always helpful.

Paula and Chris I am going to log my food in, ( unsuccessfully so far). I know this is where I am failing to win. I want to switch back to a smaller size of uniform pants. March sounds good for me also. Would be ecstatic with 140.

Since we're all listing March goal weights, mine is 169. I'd be thrilled to get back to 164 by then but that may not be realistic. (Wwow, gained 10 pounds in less than a month, and thinking it will take more than three times that long to lose it. )

    My Goals
    Current weight: 175
    March goal: 169
    Year end goal: 155

    - Paula

    Group March Goal Summary
    Shelley - 140
    Chris - 138
    Clara - 6 pounds less (I'm guessing you're petite :) )
    Paula - 169

I started logging again today and was expecting to see awful numbers after having hummus and dried fruit for lunch (500 calories). But it ended up only being 33 calories over and included 54gm protein, which is about half of what I'd like, but still decent.
    • Logging was a huge success.
    • Mindful eating was weak - but okay.
    • Avoiding night nibbles will be tonight's success.
A book I read had the bad guy mesmerize his servant and then order him to go hang himself. My current mantra to fight this constant food compulsion is to say to myself:
    Do not go hang yourself!

Paula I think you read my mind. Night nibbles and better logging. But I really went over. :'( And believe me when I say I said no to twice that much. And thank you for the group compilations. :D:)

Chris we are starting out almost the same. 150.6 this morning. :'(

    My goals
    Current weight - 189.6
    March goal - 179.6
    Year end goal - ???

I will revisit that later. I’m happy to be under 190 but it’s partly because of a year end cold. My other resolution is to spend more time in MFP for the great support...especially from you ladies!

    Good luck everyone!

Kathy, so sorry you were sick for the holidays. Bummer.

    149.0 his morning at 5:30. Surprised! :o

    I will...
    Drink water
    Weigh portions
    Log
Workout w/trainer four times this week
Walk w/DH at least five times this week.
Get at least 7-8 hours sleep

I was really good yesterday. Drank water like it was my favorite 'everything'! Walked and worked out.

    You guys are the best!

Logging and mantra success. Logging let me know I was maxed out for the day. And "Do not go hang yourself" kept me out of the kitchen all night. I honestly repeated that a dozen times to remind myself how important it was not to have "just a little".

172 this morning, hoping the jump to 175 was just water weight and this is getting rid of it.

BTW, Kathy, congratulations on getting into the 180's. I still remember when one-derland was your dream, and watching your progress is so exciting! :)

Thanks, Paula!! I want to get to 138...lowest my trainer will let me get...and then maintain it. You know my toughest is October to the end of the year. That will be my hardest challenge this year.

Chris great job. I love surprises in the morning. :p

    Kathy get well. :)

And Paula. Love the mantra. I am using it tonight. ;) And I love the tracking. Speaking of tracking.....well I hate it. I remember how few calories I can really have. I have been lying to myself. :'(

This morning really sucked. 152.2. Really? Good thing I am trying to log better. OK so I really wanted a cinnamon roll tonight. So I ate very little for dinner. I know it was bad. But one thing at a time. Staying closer to my calorie goal intake for now.

Shelley, you can have the cinna-bun thing if it fits within your calorie goal. I really dislike those nasty bounces that go up...You can do this. You know you can. I know you can...WE know you can!!

148.2 this morning at 6:30. I'll take it!! Walking w/DH this morning then meeting w/our trainer at 11:45. This will probably be the fastest weight-drop week of this adventure. Salt/water just dropping off. My belly isn't sticking out as far!!

    Thanks, Paula.

148.0 this morning at 6:45. I'll take it! We had the kids over for dinner which is salad and all kinds of mix-ins because we like different veggies. I did, however, finish off the wanton toppers after everyone left. I thought the salt would kill me but, maybe, it wasn't too much. I was VERY good when it came to dessert, though.

My trainer want to reevaluate my numbers when I reach 142. We'll see.

Rest day today. We get Ronan in a little bit. DDD has stuff to do this morning.

Chris, Did you feel the earthquake? Quite a jolt and the kitten's first - she did NOT like it.

Shell, Not going up is good, that's where I am too. Happy to get on the scale and see it stay the same.

I've been logging and it is helping me stop in the evening.

    172.0 today

188.8 this morning. It is 18 in the Atlanta area this morning...crazy for us in January. I’m going to start working out on my lunch hour when I’m teleworking.
I have a new dvd...Killer Arms & Back by Jillian Michaels...found it on sale. It’s 3 30- minute workouts. My flabby arms need all the help they can get...TONING!!! :D

    Paula, I didn't feel it. :)

148.4 this morning at 4:30...yes, 4:30!!! DDD is taking Ronan in for a shot at 9:00. Her car is in the shop. DH is going to take her. We have yoga at 10:00. In order to make everything work and get our walk in...dun, dun, dun...we had to get up a little early. :s

I was really good yesterday. Had bell peppers for a snack. Haven't done that in ages!

    FRIDAY!!

    Earthquake's not good. Poor kitty.

Kathy great ideas. And love the new DVD. She is a BEAST!

Chris I hate peppers. But they would be great for snacking. Had spaghetti squash the other night. I actually liked it. Oh, 151.6.

Paula it is finally moving in the right direction. Catch me my friend. ;)

I did not log today. We were eating out with the car club. Let the scales decide how I did in the morning. :#

171 yesterday morning, right direction, good. But then succumbed to peanut butter & honey in the afternoon - shockingly it was within limit! Sometimes logging is a pleasant surprise.

    170 today, whew.

Kathy, you make me want to look at videos... will report back if it happens or not. :sunglasses:

Chris, surprised you don't get up at 4:30am all the time - thought that was your norm. Has retirement turned you into a slacker who sleeps till 6:00am?

Shell, I can't stand raw bell peppers but love them cooked. 20 years ago my daily lunch from a local deli was a yummy sausage & pepper dish. Couldn't understand why I was gassy all the time?

Paula, I wouldn't mind 4:30 in the summer, but 4:30 in the winter means we are walking in the cold, dark morning for almost and hour and a half. DH loves it. What do they say about opposites? Yes, retirement has turned me into a slacker. I love my soft, warm bed. This morning was great. it was beautiful out there!

Are bell peppers gassy? Raisins are gassy for me. Didn't know about the bell peppers.

Chris, I'm the opposite, down a pound at 169. Happy to have broken through the 170-barrier but suspect it's just weighing in so late (10am) and wouldn't be surprised if it pops up again. Just bouncing.
