    2.1 treadmill miles. I ran one of those. Back's still a bit sore but I have the Susan G Komen race in two days, so I wanted to test it. The race is pretty flat, one of the rare ones around this hilly state.

    May 3: My anniversary so I cut my workouts today to spend time with my hubby.

    I found that if I sleep with an ice pack on, my knee is getting more mobile. Oh it stinks to be getting older.

    This is the month I am supposed to be recovering from tax season and resting up for training season. But it is also the month all the decisions about training assignments are made, so I ended up with a lot of nervous pacing while on the phone learning whether the department's needs line up with my feelings. My husband keeps saying our next house needs a track around the outside so I don't run him over while I'm on the phone. :D

    Added 6 miles for a May total of 16.25 miles

    Ever have one of those days you overestimate your stamina? :o I had another day to myself so I decided to walk to the new library near my house. But I didn't get started until after lunch and today was 80F+ and very humid. It also turns out the library is 2 miles from my house. Really the walk there was nice, if a little too sunny. I had a nice time exploring the new library, picked out a couple of books to take with me next week and the walk home was pretty pleasant too. But now that evening is here, I'm exhausted. The summer heat and humidity hit here quickly this week, I hope in time I will adjust.

    Added 6 miles (and a blister) for a May total of 22.25 miles.

    @taxmom9093 - I know what you mean about the heat sapping your energy. My husband and I both fell asleep yesterday afternoon after being out in the sun.

    3.1 miles doing the Susan G Komen 5K. Ran it all, not as fast as I'd have liked since it's one of the few flat courses around here, but I'm happy. My brother and sis-in-law surprised me by showing up for it. SIL is a 15 year survivor so it was nice to have her there. She rang the survivors bell, and we wandered around a bit before going out for breakfast.

    After yesterday's adventure, I had to force myself to at least take a short walk today. The rain most of the day didn't help my motivation either.

    May 5: Adding 14 miles of running at my Kids Marathon and lots of walking miles at our race expo as well as some easy biking.Finally got myself a Garmin fitness watch. But really a stress monitor on it. What is that all about and what is it measuring? Blood pressure?
