@K80FLEC - Glad you liked the penguin! Hahaha...surprisingly, he resembles me the most ... as the young version of me though! Glad the wedding went well and your son found someone to be happy and in love with. Living with children of ASD can be quite challenging. Between my girlfriend and ex-wife, three of four kids were on the spectrum to varying degrees. The GF's son that still lives with us is the most severe and will likely be living with us through at least his mid-20's...we'll see. He has matured a great deal in the last two years so we remain hopeful.
And Karen's "Exercise is Medicine" challenge she's doing this month reminded me of this article I read. Certainly exercise goes well beyond being good for us in countless other ways besides improving cancer treatment outcomes.

@DAve - nice article. The UNC Wellness Center describes it as "EIM is a collaboration by many top organizations in our field of exercise and health (ACSM, ACE, MFA) to promote exercise as a vital sign asked by and discussed with our primary care providers. " I know for me it's mental as well as physical therapy. I was just asked to go work in another clinic for a few weeks because they're severely short staffed and originally I said no, because they open too early and I told the administrator I was unwilling to give up my morning gym time, it's for my mental and physical health. Happily, the clinic was willing to accomodate me so I'm on temporary duty there starting next week. I know going in the mornings makes me happy, moving makes me happy.
Although I will admit when I see EIM, I think "Exercise is Money:"

@Just_Ceci - Wow! What a ride!
@clepant - Lucky kids to have an aunt love them so much. Glad it all worked out for you.
@k80flec - congratulations and all best wishes for the newlyweds.
I arrived in California last night and went to Mother's Day tea with my mom this afternoon. It was very nicely done. No moving yet, but I'm planning to go out now and get some miles in. Have a wonderful weekend!2 -

Been soooo flippin busy that when I got home it was shower & hit the bed! Son & D&L sold house & by the buyers VA loan there was a "list" of must do's so guess who did the "DO's"? For the past 10 days I have busted my butt getting it done by yesterday. They would have helped more if they didn't live 100 miles away & have manager full time positions.
Since the 2nd I have gotten in 45 miles (30 walking & 15 from ex bike).

Yesterday afternoon and again this morning I went out for easy runs. Very pleasant. It's in the 60'sF here. That puts me a 50/75.
Happy Mother's Day all - even if you celebrate it on a different day where you live! And special recognition for those who find this a difficult day.

3.2 treadmill miles, ran 3.1 of them, didn't plan to go that far, but it was feeling good, so I did.
