Hi ... I am still here!!
@anaconda469 - be totally awesome, 2018 will be your year
@clepant - how dreadful, so pleased your bank was vigilant
@kar328 - glad you enjoyed your visit home, NY bagels YuM (genuine article, eaten whilst in Nova Scotia)
@vhuber - I’m so glad you’re getting some rain. I felt for you last year with the drought.
ETA
We’ve had rain today ... the first in 6 weeks. We’ve had heat too for those y weeks .... the mid 80’s + is very hot for us in the UK. We really aren’t used to it I do struggle running in the heat, which has played havoc with my times .... but I’m still moving1 -

I was in England years ago and there was a heat wave. It wasn't super crazy by any means, but for a country that's not used to it, it was fun to watch the news. I had brought warmer clothes (not my first time there) and ended up wearing a lot of my souvenir tshirts during the week.

@kar328 - that’s why we Brits like to talk so much about the weather! It only takes a slight variation from the ‘norm’ and we become martyrs LOL .
The rain has passed and the heat has returned .... and I’m fed up with Pollen Allergies!
Today I’m going with my boys and their boys to the local Country Show. The toddlers will love tractor pulling. I’m not sure what they’ll make of beasts up close though!,2 -

Well 2018 was MY year. I finished Tour des Chutes! After 4 cracks, 4th time is the charm. It was 101F out there, but my son was with me so we talked all the way around. He paced me up 4 brutal climbs but we made it. I am completely knackered so taking a well deserved rest day tomorrow.

Congratulations to Anaconda on making goal and on finishing the Tour des Chutes! And in the heat no less. Way to go.
Travel day for me today, so no miles, just lots of frustration with delayed flights. I'm back in California visiting my mom. Hope to get back in the green tomorrow.1 -
@anaconda469 - CONGRATS on finishing your race!!! And with it being 101! I live in Florida, but after knowing what you did, i will not complain about the heat here anymore (well maybe not for a week).
@clepant - Funny I have been getting these ads for eBags with RFIDsafe and wondering who would need it. Now i know...EVERYONE! What a pain it is cancelling cards and such, but at least you aren't responsible for it. What a crazy world.

Been on a motorcycle trip since last Thursday morning and I’m feeling it from the sitting all day and road food. But my sweetie and I are having an absolute blast! We always do...no matter what. I’m so lucky to have her.
We traveled all day in blistering heat to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for Hot Harley Nights. It’s a 4-day fundraining event that a local dealer puts on to benefit Make-a-Wish SD. Tons of stuff all weekend plus rides in the area. Then Jennifer & I said goodbye to about 8 of our good friends that headed back home while we continued on West to Rapid City, SD and along the way passed through the Badlands National Park. Absolutely spectacular. We also hit the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. We left Rapid City this morning and traveled through several scenic highways in the Black Hills National Forest. Also spectacular views and tons of twisty roads that were great fun on a motorcycle. We also visited Sturgis and the Harley dealer there but we’re about a week early for the big “rally” and that’s totally fine by me. Too many people then!
We went through Sundance, Wyoming and then passed by Devil’s Tower on the way to our hotel tonight. I’ll try to attach a couple of pictures...
Dave
